Just another day chilling on server 4



Hi guys

Here's yet another thread to bring back an alternate battle server to the EU players.
This time hopefully more structured and with more solutions and less hate from EU_1 player base.

As many of you know, EU_4 has been down regularly after the switch to the new server host (where EU_4 was not hosted on, ping gave it away) and has now been down for quite some time.

We are many who miss this server and will go very far to see it return.


Finding a solution:

A - Revive EU_4
Either as it was or, preferably, updated to less night time, no polestagger and all the other good things that have come with WSE2

B - Make EU_9 (test server) official
As it is now, EU_9 is not used except when devs are testing things.
I am sure that the EU_4 community would not mind being lab rats as long as we get a place to roam (with XP)

C - Community hosted alternate server
A server hosted by community members or clan(s).
The Nordmen server is a great example of a good community server that people loved even more than the official ones.

D - Something else
You name it.


Letting us know:

One of the biggest problems for me is that we haven't heard a word from the devs about EU_4.
I have come to doubt that EU_4 was ever hosted/paid for by the devs. Since it was never updated properly after the first time they switched server host, ping differs a lot from the other official servers and it used to be hosted by Pecores (might as well have been all this time).

It would be nice if someone, either the host or the devs, let us know what was happening and what is going to happen.


Please post any solutions you can think of or any changes to the ones posted above.

Also, if you insist on letting everyone know why EU_4 should not return; please do so in a proper tone.

WSE2 Beta / [Suspicion] Network problems

I have been using the beta client for quite a long time now and I did not have any network problems with it before the public release.

But shortly after the WSE2 beta client was released, my ping started spiking and was constantly atleast 7 ms higher (when it wasn't spiking).
So I contacted my ISP and they thought I might be because I was trying to use a lot more sessions than my router configuration allowed me to.
They increased the cap from 2000 to 6000 (ish), and they spikes have stopped. But my ping is still higher than before (36 instead of 29 - I know its not something to whine about).

Also these network problems were happing on every computer in my network and not just when I was playing cRPG.

Anyway I didnt think that WSE2 had anything to do with it untill my friend tried it for the first time and his ping went crazy just like mine had.
We both live in Copenhagen and probably use the same line connection and from what I am told; the network in Denmark is really shitty compared to many other countries.

So could it be that you made some changes that require a lot more network sessions and that this might cause problems for some internets?

Well thank you for all the work you have done and as I probably have said before: I love the many additions the beta client has brought

WSE2 Beta / Alt+F4 not working

Alt + F4 doesn't work anymore. I don't know if that's intentional with the new new beta client. But I miss it, its good for RQing.

Resolved Issues / Crash on Exit

I keep getting this "crash message". It mostly happens when I exit with alt+F4 or by pressing X (in the corner) when I am in windowed mode.

Its not really that big a problem, but I guess it should be fixed before the client is "released".

Resolved Issues / [Bug] Floating/flying underground on unnamed map

I was just playing on this map (the map was called UNEXISTING STRING! (e.g. no name?)) and I kept going under ground, sort of floating around beneath the ground:

I asked the others on the server (some of them clan mates) and it seemed I was the only one seeing this bug, so I guess it must have something to do with the beta client.

Archive / [Bug] Controls resetting after update

My controls settings have been reset the past three times I have had to update cRPG through the old launcher.

I usally play with [1] as my "equip item 1" (and so forth up to 4), but this gets reset everytime there is a new cRPG update (to [NUM 1] instead of [1]).

Resolved Issues / [Bug] Depth effects results in black/bugged screen.

Whenever I turn on depth effects my screen goes black, and it appears that only non-3d effects are shown:
