oh shit I remember this used to be the 'duel greet' move, but I can't recall how long until people stopped using the gesture

I still used it when I was playing.
Though EU_1 was filled with gangbanging scum who never allowed duels :(
EU_4_EVER!

That would be similar to the surgeon/healer skills/first aid skills in Warband single player.  But I just realized I have no idea how armies will work in this game.  Will you be followed by mindless bots that their owners will 'possess' right before the battle, or will you open a bag and the rank and file pour out.

If it is anything like they have said before (as in over a year ago) armies are just like tickets in Strategus.
Though you can also hire in-game mercenaries that are essentially real player characters (thereby higher level, than a regular tickets) that can be permadeathed or captured.

It could be either like M&B where you have a passive medic skill or they could make it so you actually need to have a player go around and collect the wounded and treat them after the battle.

No it doesn't. You make it a vital part of gameplay and then your team gets shit medics and you're screwd.

True.

I would be cool if there was medical skills that would benefit an army after a battle.
Such as limiting casualties by saving wounded/otherwise dead men.

So will we be getting any new vid dev blog vids soon?

We just got word of a playtest on Monday. What more do you want?
Give the devs some room to do their thing...

Another test coming up. It's still limited to the early backers for now.

Did you post it in the general section just to fuck with the non backers? :D

Anyway, I'll try to make it. I am turning in my bachelor thesis on the 25th, so I probably wont have time.
Hurray for procrastination though!

The point is to show off nice effects. Burning arrows aren't exactly fit to spent light anyway.

Ah, I see.

Ok. This will be my last "grumpy guy complaint".
I am really sorry. but...

The thing were people want to show of nice effects in games and movies just for the sake of showing nice "epic" effects: really rubs me the wrong way.
I think it is one of the reasons that there are so many horrible single player experience in AAA games these days.
The developers use way too much of their resources on effects that they could otherwise use on better dialog, story, map design, gameplay, etc.

It's not only the waste of resources. It also just looks really dumb.
This video (from an even more grumpy guy) portrays what I mean really well:

This all just comes down to personal taste though.
I understand why people want blow up buildings and set fire to everything in games. It is fun.
It just quickly becomes too much in my mind.

anyway they will use green arrows

Lol. This is both true and sad :(

Hopefully the devs will make some kind of anti-texture-cheat measure like the one introduced with the WSE2 launcher.

Is it though? They wouldn't need to emit lighting and shadow. A simple glowing would do the deed.

I suppose you could do it that way. I don't know if it would look any good though :(
Either way what is the point then in regards to making dark nights more visible if the arrows wouldn't create in-game lighting?

(Sorry for being so pessimistic though :( )

Also as a contrast, fires could be quite bright during nights and arrows and catapult loadings will be automatically lit on fire. So much opportunities to make nights really beautiful.

Isn't flaming arrows just a waste of GPU power? Not to speak of historically inaccurate.
I suppose if people want to use flaming arrows they should be allowed but making it default seems like going overboard.

Dibs on everything revolving around 'Molly' just for consistency purposes.
Boring, I know.

Ecstasy monopolist confirmed.
How is my character going to make money now? :(

Interesting name. I personally like MBG better but it's still pretty good. Sounds a bit more like a game name I guess.

I've got to disagree. I like the new name a lot better.
Though it must just be a matter of taste :D

Jambi got me. Every of his suspicions and implications are true. I do in fact not love it, very pleased actually means "the better choice at gunpoint", it actually has no features and all, and it's because our publisher/sponsor doesn't like gameplay, they think it's better to make something more like candy crush, because stats show that sells better.

Alas! My plan foiled, so close before scamming people into early access! I tip my fedora to you, you bested me with your intelligence.

Good. I always like Candy Crush way better than Native and cRPG combined.

Busy smashing windows?

No.
More like laying the groundwork for the soon to be social revolution that will dis-empower the bourgeoisie class and instill the start of a classless society...

TBH it is like this in all of Scandinavia, so that is probably what I'll be doing :D :
This is Finland on 1st of May.

At least I plan on being intoxicated. Most likely a lot of Finns will miss it.

Sounds great!

You just keep doing what you are doing.
Though I have to agree that putting the test on the 1st of May is weird since it is the international workers day, so a lot of us will be busy :D .
