General Discussion / Re: When are macro abusers getting banned?
« on: March 30, 2014, 11:54:42 pm »
Only works if you know everybody's playstyle or can survive enough hits to test people.

Hehe I got the point, but you don't have to be a tank to test people. You just have to play it safe for the first few rallies and then you'll see what kind of person they are.
Of course, you can be wrong about his next move and get hit, in which case, yeah, it helps a shit lot to have HP. Basically why I went full STR in the first place indeed. STR also means that when you're right, you punish the guy hard and since he dies quickly he doesn't see what tactic you're using.
It still works pretty well with 24 str, and with training, you 'read' your oponent better and you hit more often. Using your head is underrated :D

Hey, I'm a good player and I'd like to train newbies ( who are succesful in their IRL life) so I can show how much of an altruistic, smart and e-hung player I am because I'm shit at everything else in my life and increasingly shittier at this game that no one ever heard of and this is my last chance to somehow redeem myself in my own eyes.

Who said this was an e-peen thread? We just want to help newbies !

My money is on Atze - His reflexes are as sharp, if not sharper than Emcure, he has more str and armor as well. I say 7-3 for Atze.

honestly don't split your wpf between more than two categories ( already I hardly approve of hybrids unless you are good / high lvl). Make a dedicated min/max build to ensure you maximise your build effectiveness. Although it was sarcastic my suggestion for 18/21 2h or pole is a serious one. You will be balanced, powerful and fast. It's a jack-of-all-trades for anyone who's getting into the game. But eventually its up to you.

18/21 2h greatsword with kuyak and vaegir ( oops sorry, rus !) war mask and heavy gauntlets. You are ensured community feedback with such a build.

Couldn't change my STF name to Skono even though none of my chars are named Skono. I have recently changed my name quite a few times so maybe a demand overcharge or something?

Dude, I hope you're Chinese because if you're not, ban would be in order. Reason why Chinese players play those builds on EU server is because they can't play proper melee cause of 350 ping. Now if you're EU, you have no excuse. Back in the days when I started, players were eager to learn game mechanics. These days everyone wants an easy way to the top.

Players like you, who don't want to learn manual blocking (DTV bots will help you with that) are the reason why we can't get pass Rohan wave with full team. Then people QQ how DTV sucks, but in reality players suck.

Why did this get so many - ?
I agree with Leshma that people who play on DTV should be looking to be somewhat efficient instead of crutching bots with ridiculous builds ( and then QQing about it on the forums, lol) because they aren't competitive on other game modes. At the rare times I went on eu7 I raged when I was seriously trying to win and we lost because a few useless semi-leechers came on the server, clueless about how to fight and the proportional increase in bots due to their presence was too tough for the rest of us.

I don't want to be cruel towards newbies, but I have to side with Leshma here, if you can't fight at all please be at least courteous, even perhaps generous enough to not just sit on eu7 making the game harder for those who play it.

Rien de personnel either, but my point of view stands.

There is a lot of other fighting styles in cRPG, and I appreciate them more, that is all.

As you should know better than others, full str doesnt mean full retardness   everything is more or less available as long as you have keyboard and mouse.

Honestly I'd like to have faster combat, and if that's what you're talking about then we agree. However I don't think we should change the 'viability' of weird moves or promote them, since they are unrealistic and therefore do not fit the M&B theme.
And as full str users we both know that fancy moves are available to those who have agility and that therefore it is useless (and to quote you ''full retardness'')for str-users to try things like feints and wiggly jumpy 360-y moves. I have a boring playstyle since I have learned to play the game for so long and I have made it my strength to take it easy, see what my oponent is doing then strike while he dances. Boring, yes. Ineffective? No.

Another aspect to consider is that if we allow fancy moves, we also allow for broken moves to pop-up. Today we still have the broken thrusts, the wiggly long spears, the ridiculous hiltslashes, etc. Those are all fancy moves by definition, yet few people have come to see using those as a proof of skill and mastery.

Don't get me wrong, I love style diversity, nothing nicer than to face unique oponents, but I prefer game balance and fairness over diversity. That is my own point of view though and I totally understand that you think differently :)

I was speaking of the video, not the skill of the duellers :)
I'm just very underwhelmed by the "tension" of this duel.
It is cRPG faults that we have so much incentive for defensive/unnatural moves against more cinematographic fighting styles.

Well M&B is segmented as a realistic medieval fighting game where surviving is key, if you want some Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon-style fighting there are plenty of games out there where you can summon meteorites of angry kittens while 780 degree no-target no-armor huge-irrealistic-weapon&huge boobs dealing 87547392858361957623945762349 damage (admire my keyboard concerto here) and enemy loses 2 hp.

Rien de personnel my dear Butan, it's just that you're spoiling a bit the nice tourney atmo here, and as a full str tincan you're not really to talk about superior moves either ;)
