Hello all,

I had a distinct love for cRPG, and played it pretty much from start to finish. I always wanted to get into strategus too, but my ability was limited due to not living in NA or EU. When Melee: Battlegrounds was announced, I was under the impression that there would be Epic, and Battlegrounds, with the second-of-the-latter being akin to cRPG.

My question is that, will Australia (or smaller communities like Japan) be over-looked when this game goes public?

Well...

1) Buy a laptop that can handle cRPG on at least like 15 FPS.
2) Make a shielder alt, probably dedicated shielder, but better balanced agi-noble.
3) Go DTV and wait till the first shieldwall map goes.
4) Get some shitty armour, shitty weapon and good shield.
5) Stand in a shieldwall with chat button pressed. Your char will hold his shield.
6) Do what you want, look at the screen sometimes, go back to the wall each round, probably go fight sometimes when it is needed.
7) Reach 31 lvl
8) Goto 1 untill you are gen 16

When gen 16 is reached, grin tones of XP and transfer it to any char you want. You will have 45% bonus and will only lose 25% - 8% bonus totally.

Not so bad.

By the way, my voice is for that idea, will bring much more fun to this game.

You must play cRPG like you're on a mission. I personally would never buy another laptop for a shieldwall character haha!

Yes, but think of the concept of inflation. I believe Zimbabwe is a classic example.

They printed out a massive amount of money, under the impression it'd add wealth to their nation, when it actually resulted in the value of the note decreasing significantly. Sure, people still wanted the notes, but there was too much supply to meet the demand.

That is what was meant about the economy being stuffed.

Anyway, this is getting a little off-topic ;)

However, divided experience will sort-of act as a retirement for a high level, as a EXP sacrifice will potentially reduce level, and always hinder progress on that character. Using alts to retire is a lot more accurate to "getting lps without retirement on high lvl", which is what happens today.

IMagine a lv 35 siphonin all his xp to dozens of alts

I'm just going to say what we're all thinking. The cRPG economy is a joke. The system was essentially bound to fail as players start cRPG, play cRPG, retire, loom shit, quit, pass looms onto other players, who play with loomed gear, retire, quit. rinse repeat. Of course this would lead to an influx of heirlooms/LP in the future, as there is a lot coming into the game, and none leaving. Basic economical principle of supply/demand.

Might ask yourself how it comes people get "that picture". This idea will mess up STF, respecs,... It doesn't fit in this mod quite well.

How-so? STF's can't level up and would obviously also be devoid from this concept.

I don't see how the idea of combining a greater portion of one characters experience, and adding it to another character would ruin the concept of "respecs"? The idea stems from the fact that a lot of players avoid spending time on alternative characters, as it feels like they are wasting time, as it is not furthering their main (which usually will get experience faster anyway given most mains are >gen 1).

It's been talked about before, and I think that it is a good method to promote alt use, as the experience can be moved between characters (albeit with some form of sacrifice). The obvious deterrent is that some goes to waste - the same reason people don't respec all the time.

Is it abuse if everyone and anyone can do it?

Given the level-up system, the hyperthetically transfering 75% of the exp from a level 31 to a level 35 or so (I assume that's what you're considering 'abuse'), won't make much of a difference what-so-ever.

Because in medieval europe, people didn't get older by sucking life out of other people. Giving gold to friends or family was a pretty common way to transfer money though.

But in Transylvania...

But seriously, people do get older while sucking out potential life, just look at the ghetto parts of LA (hohoho)

If you want realism, people don't "level-up", and if your argument is about a correlation between age:level, I'll be the first to admit that I haven't seen any athletic retirees running around swinging greatswords.

Hello Community,

I believe this has been discussed before, but not implemented.

I think it would be beneficial for the game if players had the option of "sacrificing" alternative characters to get say, 75% of the experience on a character of their choice. This would promote "alt-itis" too and as a result, would generate the feeling of satisfaction upon playing on an alternative character.

We can transfer gold, so why not EXP? We earn them both after-all! The 75% would mean that playing on an alt isn't as time-effective as playing on that dedicated character, but it means that alts are not a complete waste of time.

What is your take on the issue?
