WSE2 Beta / Re: WSE2 launch black screen

Tried modifying the.ini file, didn't work.

The ini file in your documents, yeah? Not the one in steamapps.

You should be able to edit -
iFullscreenDisplayDepth=0
iFullscreenDisplayHeight=0
iFullscreenDisplayRefreshRate=0
iFullscreenDisplayWidth=0

With your desired settings eg
iFullscreenDisplayDepth=32
iFullscreenDisplayHeight=1080
iFullscreenDisplayRefreshRate=60
iFullscreenDisplayWidth=1920

Strategus General Discussion / Re: More diversity in strategus battles
« on: December 28, 2013, 04:47:33 pm »
For the armies we made during strat 4 we had to go with certain numbers of gears in each vategory based on aproximately how many different classes that usually applies for battles - and not based on what or who we actually was going to attack with the army we were building.

All the major clans, as fas as I know, makes their armies more or less exactly the same - a grey army allways has the same amount of each weapon (give or take) for their open field battles. One battle is the same as the next one - you never get surprised by Hetman suddenly fielding an all cavalry army for instance, if he would see it strategically wise to do so in a certain situation - since he cant because of lacking cavalry applicants.

Hopefully there will be changes to the economy system which will make this a lot harder to do :)

I see your point that you want to be able to build an army with a style/theme (which I think would be a really good addition to strat and make it a lot more fun / interesting.)

The problem I see is when it comes to castle/town defending. Being able to fill your roster every time with the perfect ratio of ranged and strength clutch builds will completely ruin the balance of attacking a fief (I know its not prefect now).

Also I like the fact that people have to sacrifice certain things in order to be able to participate in every battle/siege. For example horse archers; they have to use ~ 6 attributes just to use rounceys (including horse archery points). In field battles they are annoying as hell!!! However, I take great pleasure knowing that when it comes to a siege of a castle they are going to be a very restricted archer with a lot worse stats compared to dedicated archers.

If you give everyone 6 alts they can apply with, its very easy to have a dedicated archer and a horse archer among them. If you give everyone 2 alts only a few will want both as their only options.

For sieges everybody would be either high power draw archer, high accuracy crossbows or strength crutch ing maulers. In field battles or village attacks it would be all cav, agi polearms and agi shielders.

Exactly my thought.

Sorry Gandmom but I really don't think this is a good idea. I think the week change over between characters we got now is more than enough.

If anything like this was implemented I think it should be limited to 2 characters, 6 is too high.

EDIT - Make it two characters and I agree with your suggestion... More than two I think is too much.

Also - Make it so you can switch 1 character with an alt once every two weeks.

Can be done. Do I have to join a clan to see this c-rpg banner page, or can someone post a screenshot? Maybe I should just show a full color picker, when someone click on the input field.

(click to show/hide)

A full color picker like on the strat faction page would be better.

Yes, I know she is butt ugly, but I have to work with what I've got.

You need to include a new head armor which is pre-selected by default

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: wpf values
« on: December 09, 2013, 10:06:58 pm »
Ones on the website

The in-game shared wpf character menu display feature hasn't been coded yet, so it won't show up. The actual effective wpf change from shared melee proficiencies has been tested and is working as if you had the amount of wpf that you see on the website.

Is there any chance to load banners on that armors in future?

Zagibu has already answered that question

In theory, everything is possible. The only limits are my motivation, which is unfortunately VERY limited. The heraldics would require you to upload a banner and then it could blend it over the normal texture. The biggest problem would be to define how to align it, so that it is displayed in the proper position. This information is already available in the tableau definitions in the BRFs, but adapting it for the viewer might not be straightforward. Or it might be. We'll see.

Realism Discussion / Re: Rain should slow down ALL projectiles
« on: November 27, 2013, 07:37:39 am »
Seriously? You're arguing that classes can't be called "ranged" or "melee" only 2h/1h etc..

If you're going to argue rationally, you may want to note that even though throwing has its own wpf separate from bow so does 1h, 2h , polarm wpf. And they're still "melee" not "their own classes."

You may want to re-read what I put.

Quote
Um, so it was kind of like a bunch of deflection from the real issue.. why there's suddenly superfluous realism which targets all range except throwing. Nice argumentative weight.

They where just going by your suggestion to make gloves slippery when wet.

If you read the posts above (slowly and carefully) you will see someone put "rain affects the STRING on bows and Xbows"; it's not realism against ranged, it's realism against string.

If rain has no effect on projectiles, then throwing is going to be unaffected because at no point does it use/require string.

Why is it that Throwing Lances have the highest strength requirement in the game?

Throwing: Throwing Lances - 21
Bow: Long Bow - 18
XBow: Arbalest - 15
One Hand: Iron War Axe - 16
Two Hand: Great Maul - 20
Polearm: Long Maul - 18
Head Armor: Weimar Helmet - 16
Body Armor: Milanese Plate - 16
Hand Armor: Heavy Gauntlets -18
Leg Armor: Black Greaves -15

Except the Great Maul at  20 strengh, with 18 strength you can use every other weapon and piece of armor with a strength requirement (with the obvious exception of needing power draw/powerthrow, not just the strength).

Maybe the Great Maul and throwing lances requirement should be reduced to 18 so they fit in with the rest of the gear. Either that or the less favorable, raise the strength requirement of other items especially plate armor, long maul and arbalest.
