It will reduce any blows you take to your back (but not your head or limbs).

General Discussion / Re: so what polearms make horses rear now?

In terms of polearms, I'd say my penis is great at getting into horses rears.

During my second generation, will I have to pay upkeep starting out at level 1 or will there be another grace period until level 25?

Banned me for leeching because I was afk reporting someone on the forums for tking. :/

Quick at responding to posts though, that's a plus.

Suggestions Corner / Re: Suggestions for dealing with "construction spam"
« on: October 04, 2011, 11:26:21 am »
The door to the keep now has 5 construction sites, 12 siege shields and 4 ladders on it.  And god knows what else is in there.  It's a giant pile of wood and has more hit points than a Sherman tank.

The "weapon rack" can make siege mode games a bit silly.

Suggestions to handle this problem:

1) When a piece of equipment dies, it deals some damage to all other nearby pieces of equipment

2) When you hit a piece of equipment, every piece of equipment within a small radius takes the full damage of your swing

3) Equipment cannot overlap.  First one down wins.  If you place a siege shield and it intersects with another siege shield, your siege shield will fall over and blow up (ladders already do this with other ladders -- apply the same logic to construction sites and siege shields).

4) Smoke bombs become firebombs.  They still do somewhere between "little" or "nothing" to players but deal significant AE damage to siege equipment (3 foot radius explosion, extensive damage to deployables)

4 Sounds great.

General Discussion / Re: New style of baricading doors and gates!
« on: October 04, 2011, 11:19:24 am »
Saw them make a siege tower and a ton of ladders/constr. sites on and around a flag once for about 5 rounds in a row. Of those they very well might have lost 3 rounds without. Flag was completely unreachable, as in op.

I thought exploiting c-sites on siege was a ban? Did something change?

Closed Requests / Ban Request: Repeated Teamwounding / Tking
« on: October 04, 2011, 09:34:56 am »
Was purposefully teamkilled repeatedly by vieuxcrotter tonight on NA_2 Siege. He began kicking me originally inside the siege tower (while i was moving around, I wasn't afk), when i kicked him back he teamwounded me with his sword, followed me out of the siege tower and killed me. Screen caps below.

Later on, he saw me again in a melee ganking an enemy and after the enemy was killed near the flag he continued on swinging at me, killing me despite no enemies being present in the vicinity.

General Discussion / Re: Why is there so much whining in cRPG?

Cataphracts are much older even. Scythians and Parthians in antiquity. Roughly equivalent to Roman Empire times.

Yeah, I think Parthian Cataphracts were my favorite units when I played Rome Total War. I wish taleworld would go back a period and do classical combat.

Maybe we could make the horse poop on command with the Q menu

Q-H-P for horse poop

This.

I want to run people over with my plated charger, circle around, trample over their corpse a few times, then stop my horse for a nice good poop on their face.

This is the Hussar helmet, you are confusing it with.

And as for the Byzantine models, I dont think the devs are against them.
It just takes to long to get the items added. That would be the only thing I could criticize.

If I had enough time, I would also love to model some Byzantine items.

These look great. It sure looks like a Byzantine cataphract. Did the Ottoman's use cataphracts?
I'm not seeing any "lobster tails" on the turkish examples you've provided though. Do you have any with them, because if I remember correctly the item models in game have lobster tails (the segmented neck piece on the rear of the helmet).

Sorry if I titled my original post in a confusing way, I was just trying to make the point that we were using helmets from a period much later than the medieval period and warband is originally a medieval themed game 1257 c.e. if I remember correctly. Sense I didn't read the captions on the pictures for the wikipedia article, I didn't see that the turks had been using the chichak helmet for a while before it was adopted by Europeans in the 17th c. My bad.

More Byzantine armor would be very nice to see in this game, I agree 100% with you there. Some seljuke Turkish items along with more mamluk armor would be pretty cool as well (the stock armor is nice, but it would look really nice with enhanced textures, shimmering with diamonds the way they're described from historical accounts instead of just that dull grey color).

Umm, according to your poll, 80% think it should be bannable.

But stay in your own dang thread!

(click to show/hide)

Yeah I should really get some sleep. I probably should have made the poll more confusing.

STATS

Thanks in advance.

You said these are stats. Could we get a pie chart or a bar graph displaying the amount of horse shit in crpg up to this point, and maybe compare that to what it would be like in real life?

I just noticed this subforum. Awesome! The hilarious part is that some people will post their silly "realism" arguments here without realizing that this probably a way to get "realism" out of the balance discussions to a forum which can promptly be ignored and ridiculed.

Also, permadeath is the only realistic way.

That's kind of the point. I pissed off one of the mods so now they feel obligated to marginalize my posts. 80% of voters currently think piking on horseback shouldn't be bannable. Those kinds of numbers scare them.

Why for the love of god we have realism discussion sub-forum?

The Mods made a sub-forum just for my posts. I feel honored.
