CSGO and Overwatch combinedand it looks like forknight(click to show/hide)
I used to play games like this back in the day. The most famous being Crossfire. AVA as well. Also, some CS type of game featuring werewolves, cannot remember its name. I played those games after Exteel went into the state cRPG is in for the past half a decade, aka dead.
This is not a new concept. But neither is Overwatch. I played the closed beta of Section 8 and Global Agenda in 2009. Both good games that came out before such concepts were popularized. The same can be said about Huxley, which looked wonderful in its beta phase. To this day Star Citizen lacks Huxley game mechanics, which is basically having an open city hub with mission markers that can be PVP or PvE. It was the same kind of shooter like UT3 because it shared the engine.
Koreans did this 10 years ago, the rest of the world is finally catching up.
I have no idea what this post is about
Competitive 5v5 FPS games aren't a new concept, no, they're dime a dozen. What's rare are high quality competitive FPS games, and judging by the opinions of all the good FPS players who've tried VALORANT, it is one, with a lot of CS gayness removed.
what falls under CS gayness that VALORANT doesn't haveFloaty movement, no ADS, the need to counter-strafe before shooting which penalizes aggression, awful maps designed to give defenders a massive advantage w/o flashes and smokes, inability to shoot accurately while even just walking.

Oh man that actually has me excited. Counter-strafe is one of the most annoying mechanics ever and it baffles me that people think it raises the skill ceiling. So you are still pretty accurate while walking in VALORANT?Look at the video on the last page
Looks like a mobile gameExactly, which is ideal. Very easy to see enemies, and it runs great. Riot's really outdone itself this time, making sure all the aspects that good FPS players care about are taken into account.
Gunplay almost feels like CS
aim training has nothing to do with "reaction time."
My reaction time is 150 ms, and has been for 15 years. If you weren't shit at FPS games, you'd realize that aim training has nothing to do with "reaction time." Very telling that you don't know the purpose of the "spazzing out", either.
150ms might be good for regular pug games LOL, I've been playing CS semi-professionally for many years, nice try tho. Could have gone pro many times if I wanted. GG no re

a (supposedly) good anti-cheat system at the cost of a liver and coronavirusWhat's the big deal? Good AC has to be intrusive. Sure, in principle it's not nice to have anti-cheats running in the background constantly, but in practice what does it matter?

When it runs on pc start up and the game is not running its not a big deal?
When it runs on pc start up and the game is not running its not a big deal?Yes? Why is that a big deal? How does that affect your day-to-day life? What, in practice, does it change? Do you not have any other programs that run on PC start up?

Yes? Why is that a big deal? How does that affect your day-to-day life? What, in practice, does it change? Do you not have any other programs that run on PC start up?Maybe it does not matter for you, because you're a good little boy with two shoes, never did anything sketchy, first in line to get Bill Gates microdick digital vaccine. But some people have a dark past, some are involved in deep underground network of rebellion against dystopian soypunk future. Some people are a threat to the system. When you've built so much, developed extensive supply lines of counterfeit electronic warfart weapons for freedom fighters etc. I don't want the scenario when one day I sit down to play a game, and the powers that be get leverage on me because of some anticheat spyware. Stay safe. Stay informal.
VALORANT is kinda what I hoped Overwatch would be, a game based around aim with light impact classes/abilities, but Overwatch went full in with basing the gameplay around class compisition, abilities and throwing ults together rather than personal skill / outplay potential.Yep, I think Valorant hit the perfect balance with the abilities.
Few things:
- I do feel VALORANT is a bit more snowbally compared to CS, considering you have to keep purchasing the abilities as well, though I'm surprised how close literally all my games so far have been. I guess MM is pretty good.
- Raze's rocket launcher ult is a bit overtuned and dumb, feels a bit out of place, considering most other ults from other classes can be more easily dodged and aren't nearly as damaging
- I'd prefer shorter games, CS FT15 is absolutely too long for me, Valorant FT13 is a bit better (13:12 game end is still long), 10 would be ideal imo. I've grown to like shorter match games like Rocket League's ~5 min matches, but I know you can't really do that well with Valorant's economy and everything. Dota2's 70+ minute games are draining as fuck.
- I don't know how to feel about footstep sounds range yet, I feel like the range is pretty huge where you can still hear running enemies well, so you often see people walking around instead
