Alright guys, our new project is about to be announced in public. I'll post the trailer here in a bit.
We've been busting our balls to get this ready, two years of hard work, still going strong. I _think_ we have something really cool here, a new setting, new gameplay mechanics, and a lot of trollishness as usual. It is in many ways a survival game, so not everyone may be into that, but a strong focus is obviously melee combat, clan warfare, economy and other things we learned from cRPG/strategus.
We're now publishing ourselves, which is so much better than the situation was with OKAM. We get to make all decisions with trailers, release dates, direction, and things are going quite differently.
We hope that some of you will like it, we've been trying to avoid mistakes of our past, get better, and do something cool. If you want to hate that's cool as well, but know that it will make me cry myself to sleep at night.
We'll most likely have a larger closed beta, if you ask pogo nicely he may be able to bump you up on the priority list.(click to show/hide)

Unreal Engine 4 does utilize some multithreading, but it runs the vast majority of its gameplay logic on a single thread called the GameThread. This means that it has to run on a single core. And it is the costliest thread to run for the game, which affects the player experience the most. Since the engine is designed around this principle of having all of the gameplay run in the GameThread, it means that having many cores doesn’t really improve the server performance. Since there is some actions (like loading of assets) that are multithreaded, it makes sense to have some cores, but having server hardware with 32 cores wouldn’t helpDid you manage to bypass this restriction , or is it the same.
Because if it's the same , your game won't be playable above 30-40 players...
UE4 CAN perform good with 50+ players, but it's up to the devs experience and time to make it work properly. I wouldn't expect good performance in a game such as this, barely any game (even with bigger budgets) of this type has good performance on UE4 so I'm guessing it's not easy to do.
More I think of this game, worse it gets. Atm it is somewhere around Apex Legends, but could go even lower.

IT's a crafting/building survival game like ark atlas and conan exiles. And having big buildings and and lot of corpses tends to hugely decrease server side performance due to poor multi threading...
