They had a sort of captain mode in NW, it worked pretty good but that was with muskets only but this looks like an expansion on that and it looks very cool, in Warband I used to do something like this with a friend where we both had a bunch of bots each but it was always a fucking mosh pit and not very fun.

I hate to be a downer but it looks like a clunky warband with some graphics upgrades. Where is the multiplayer campaign where are the innovative features???

I'm sure (I hope) they'll show some, they should know it's been a wish for a very long time from the community, but this was the first taste of multiplayer we've been shown, right?

I really hope there is some kind of clan castle defense. I would be happy with any form of persistent clan multiplayer.

Looks like they've improved everything. What did you expect? For it to not resemble Warband at all?

I agree. I dont see them setting up any persistent stuff.

I don't really like the attack animations but tbh they changed the attack animations from M&B to Warband so.. not like its anything new.

Most improvement feature-wise will be for single player (way deeper political system if I understood it right). Besides that, the only noticeable changes that will occur will be on the graphics and performance. I must admit I'm worried about the animations and the terrible combat AI, if they don't change the animations before release, it will simply be a "good" game, not the game to rule them all.

They were playing multiplayer combat with bots looks good to me, imagine C-rpg with players each getting a squad to fight with.  Archer spam will be fantastic.

Any idea how many km^2 a warband scene would be, for comparison? I can picture almost exactly how large a warband scene is, but all these real world measurements mean nothing to me when talking about a game. You think they'd be ~1 km^2?

Hopefully the bigger maps help increase the level of tactical game play and not just make it a bigger pain to hunt down the 5 remaining horse archers.

Pretty cool. cRPG should have been offered as paid DLC and supported properly. Could have made a lot of money. Shame the devs and taleworlds never coordinated on that.

I think at some point we measured riding speed on a courser with 6 riding or so to be about 10m/s. So traveling diagonally from one corner of a flat scene to the other would take almost 5 minutes.

Or might have been 14m/s. My memory is failing me.

Looks nice, but the weapon animations seem... less crisp? Still looks great, and I love the much improved Captain mode. I remember trying to LAN battles with some friends for Warband by jury rigging the whole thing. It worked and was a lot of fun, but thank goodness they are improving it.

Is there any info on some kind of open beta? I kinda like how Warband beta was done back in the days with Armagan actually listening to the players. That might be anachronistic though.

Some guy i was playing with on the merc mod said he was part of the closed beta for Bannerlord. I was sceptical but he seemed to know his shit and apparently knows people in the dev team... But yes I agree they need to open that beta up. The warband open beta was great fun!
