due to the fact that this tournament will have a shitton of prizes, I would not go for no eq restriction, only a ft1 and neither would I go without any weapon restrictions.
I mean like, u come on the server, u have a short lagspike and that fullplate tincan with a longmaul one hits u with a crush through.
Id like to have it like in the normal duel tournaments!
So, with:
-without crushthrough weapons
-eq restrictions to hero armor
-no knockdown weapons/if knockdowned u're not allowed to land a hit
- ft5/ft7
otherwise will this be pretty unspectacular. I mean like, who cares when there are 2 tincans just hiting and blocking for ages. or agi knockdown retards rekting enemies without even blocking once.

Personally I'd like a nice compromise between anything goes and a more structured style. Stf only and armor cap (so you don't have level 38 str whores in full plate that cant be killed and will crushthrough 100% of the time), but still ft1 so that every single duel counts. Even if you're the favorite to win but get unlucky, them's the breaks, better luck in the other bracket.
Should be a minimum of FT3 IMO. Kinda reduces the competitive aspect by making it come down to a single duel.
I suspect the number of try-hards signing up will be less if they know they could risk a crushing defeat vs Asheram because of a bit of lag or bad luck(click to show/hide)

I'm not particularly opposed to a best of 3 or ft3 tourney, but I think a ft1 could be a little more interesting given the format of the tourney, which will have NA vs EU (vs AUS) in some matchups. Even with high ping you can probably kill plenty of players at least once in a match that lasts several rounds, however you're obviously going to be at a huge disadvantage the longer the match goes on for... why not allow you or the other disadvantaged player in a matchup to have a chance?
IMO the point of tournaments is for people to show off how skillful they are not how lucky they can get. I mean with no level cap or gear cap i can roll in level 38 with a 24/30 build in full plate and a swiss halberd and just skey and left swing until i win

We have a mechanism for almost 2 years, which is called ROLLING, if you cant roll not my problem.
I go against Sir Hobo who is a major STR whoring my old friendgit, he dueled Linux, Linux struck him 5 times with a longsword and he told us he lost only 50%.

It is 100 times easier to kill spamwhore and kiddius in a 1 vs 2 than to kill that dude in a normal duel. It is EXTREMELY risky to spam him and actually he can kick, so the only thing u do is watching him being gay. The funny thing is, he is total bullshit on every other server like battle or siege. Never saw him even getting close to the top there, cuz he can't actually do anything but block...hit...block...hit...block...hit...block...hit... pathetic

I suggest March 26th 19 GMT+0 (20:00 for most of Europe) as a day of your duel but if you can't duel that day it's possible to change the date.
Also, since both winners are EU players I think it's ok to make classic ft7 on EU3 only but if someone is against changing original tournament rules please speak up.

Original idea was to have 1 winner from NA and 1 from EU so they have different pings during last duel but now they have same ping so I don't see how it changes anything.
Why couldn't CheapKnight and I play in EU, if we had the same ping? I had really bad lag spikes though, so I couldn't see his hits. Not trying to change anything now, happened is happened.
