Have you considered accepting money after the campaign in the same way if it fails? Same goals etc, just that you get the money straight into your pockets.

You wanna get some people interested you should have a playable proof of concept even just a duel server or something. Where people can use chat and practice against bots or each other with pre-loaded gear and stuff. Get people to download and play the game in any way even if its buggy and half done but somehow "fun" they will prob think hey I might as well buy it now I already wasted the gigs. You got this shit set up with early investors who can gleek about little things with the combat and they all sound positive. Prob not remotely polished for a wider look but you know it'd be something real. So people don't think you are scamming them with CG pre-rendered shit.
Even just an engine demo. You guys sound proud of the engine, hope you find a way to demonstrate it to sell the game. That isn't youtube.

Hell, you need to make some 5$ or 10$ pledge option, this would bring you in much more money I guess. Right now you have to decide wether to donate very little or 20 times that amount. Too large gap imo, for example I can't donate 20$ right now but 5$ is really not much and I would chose that option.

You can pledge any amount. You can pledge $5 and select the $1 pledge. Keep in mind though, that you don't actually pay anything until the end of the campaign. It's a pledge afterall.
