So if you guys haven't been following Rust, they have been remaking the game for the past few months. The old version is still running on stable branch, but the experimental has the new Rust (http://playrust.com/branching-out/). You can follow what they are doing here in their devblogs:

not quite, yet, still needs work but it was definitely a good choice to remake it

Pretty much all of it is being reworked, from the UI to new map (from what I heard it's procedurally generated), graphics are better. Best to check here to see what they've done so far:
