I havent played this in over a year, and was wondering have things changed?

Are swords still like lightsabers?
Do musket Overhead animations still look retarded?
And are there any new units.

1. More or less, I wouldn't say that they are ideal in every situation, but close.

2. Yes, nothing has changed in that department unfortunately.

3. Yes, a few examples would be: German infantry for the French, boats, marines, some more cavalry units.

All in all it still has a tendency to induce physical pain in me whenever I'm compelled to play it.
