Like honestly. Im very happy more people are coming back to our favorite mod of all time. BUT FFS are you serious about this ranges. Played this night against a team that was set up by 80% ranges. GREAT JOB and no thats not enough. These are all ranges 1 shotting me with 7 iron flesh and a god damn lordly nordic warlord helmet. Great 1 month like this and this At fifteen, I had the will to learn ; at thirty, I could stand ; at forty, I had no doubts ; at fifty, I understood the heavenly Bidding ; at sixty, my ears were opened ; at seventy, I could do as my heart lusted without trespassing from the square. again. Balance this out. PLEASE

Ok if you buff 1 h. I played it and im killing ppl after 6-7 hits. Only blunt weapons KINDA work.

the funny thing is "get a shield" is always the answer :D because they know they are not right. I mean even if i use a shield and i want to kill a dude with ... lets say 5 hits i need ATLEAST

You don't have to play a shielder to bring a shield with you to the battle server. Even just putting 2 points from IF into shield will go a long way to preventing early round damage from ranged. Then just put it on your back when you are ready to melee. Unless you mean you are constantly getting shot while in melee, in which case there isn't shit you can do about that, nor will there ever be unless ranged is totally destroyed.

already tried it. u get nudges by 300000 str archers for 10 km. & u start again

dude i tried so many things and most of the players quit warband cause of ranges. Just have a look at native :D i mean are we really discusting that this is not op af. ? Seriously?

Ranged is already incredibly neutered in crpg compared to native. It seems like you want to simply play a 2hand or polearm class without having to deal with that classes natural counter, which is ranged. This is not something that will ever happen in warband, you must adapt your play style to overcome the difficulties you face. I play no shield lance cavalry primarily and i certainly don't notice myself dying to ranged more than anything else. If I with such a large target as a horse can manage to play the game without ripping my hair out about ranged you clearly are not adapting well enough.
As for the nudging, why the fuck are you letting them nudge you dude? side step that shit.
Edit: this isn't to say that ranged doesn't need adjustment currently, and in fact our balance team is looking at archery right now, just that there are ways in which you can play your class just a little differently that will result in a much better experience for you in the interim.

People have tried to curb ranged in many different ways.
Remember when they made the arrows and bows weigh a lot more?
But people just drop the bow and arrow and kite until you get bored of chasing
Then they nerfed the damage or something
But archery is fun for some people and they will still play it
I propose some things (most of which are probably the wrong thing to do but whatever)
Maybe more 0 difficulty shields that dont look super ugly?
Maybe increase shield stats and decrease their weight?
Maybe reduce slots for shields?
Maybe more 1h pierce weapons to combat the plate meta?
As it is I don't see archery as needing to be nerfed. Now I get hit in the body and it takes maybe 2 bars. Head shots are still scary as they should be because that shit is hard to do. At least for me I suck at archery :(
All I know is I was playing 20 man NA and 7 of my teammates were some type of range. Someone smarter than me make some proper suggestions please. Looking at you item balancers.

I hate ranged with a passion, but I don't think they dominate eu1

Native really isnt any better.(vaegir archers pwn the battlefield, xbows reload 2-3x faster, bows shoot faster). One thing native does have though is the ability for the admin to put a limit on the amount ranged and cav for the map if it gets over populated with them. But I dont think that would work in crpg because in native classes can be changed on the fly w/o having to relog on to an alt.

Actually, we've already lowered the slots required of shields by 1. And given that shields are not used a whole lot, increasing their stats is a good thing to consider, as is giving more power to weapons that can counter the plate meta.

Most of the maps on EU1 are not made for a pop under 50 players. And 50% are actually pretty shitty. If there is one team without ranged and 5 in the other team, those 5 just have to go on the open field and they are absolutely unattackable.
I don't really think ranged is op, I get shot every round and I would appreciate a reduction of the accuracy, but those shots mostly don't do enough damage to get me down before I can get into melee.
But I can understand why so many people QQ about ranged, as most people can't accept the fact that they are sometimes not able to attack someone or kill someone even though they are maybe way better. Problem is: They do anyways and just hope they don't get hit. When we Eques sometimes play with like 10-15 players late at night we most likely get absolutely destroied, cuz every ranged is in the enemy team and if those people play it halfways intelligently we are having a ridiculously hard time winning a round (as we shitheads all play 2H). And I'm fine with that, but being unable to dominate a server with a huge mass of 2H is kinda sad, even though it is understandable. But every now and then a real melee map would be amazing.
Can't we make a new map poll? The last one is ages ago and I'm pretty sure the maps selected weren't implemented. The last new map in the rotation is Tütes viking village thingy. Which is one of the most hated maps by most players. (Not insulting Tüte in any way, but that map sucks.)
