remove all the allowed/disallowed business. let people have freedom, otherwise they get bored of the same playstyle. sure keep and recommended/suggestions list and optional hoods/challenges.
The hoods are dead easy to get and since we have no skill requirements for joining the clan, they're a way of improving the players skills after they've joined.
Regarding the equipment limitations(like only green hoods and above are allowed to use bow. We don't really enforce them that much.)
the only real rules should be stick with the theme, nothing too strict or precise. obviously using shields/plate armour is not part of the theme, but asian theme encompasses alot of playstyles ha, cav, xbow, infantry etc. just not tincans or turtles.
The rules allow all of that(within a few limitations, to keep the theme). Except, we don't want to see samurai with crossbows. That does not fit the theme, which is why if you want to use a crossbow, you can play a ninja.
Samurai can be anything, pretty much. They can be Cav, HA, 2, Polearm, Archer, thrower. They can't be crossbowman, because it doesn't fit the theme of a samurai, while we have historical evidence of ninjas using crossbows(see "The Last Samurai"

Any member of the clan is allowed to switch freely between ninja and samurai, so it's a helluvalot more open than what it was.
And we're mainly a japanese clan, even though we allow chinese weapons for our members(due to lack of japanese weapons, and quite frankly because not everyone can deal with the suckiness of some of the weapons.). We're not out to take the entire asian theme for ourselves. Would be cool to see a Chinese Clan, though.
And we're not gonna allow european gear either. We have enough clans with that already.
And about renaming the clan Ronin. We thought about it. Torak's argument is that Samurai is a lot clearer. People might not now what Ronin is.
My argument was that I'm too lazy to redo the opening post :S
So yeah, I dunno. I kinda like it. But I do see Torak's point.
