Steam will automatically registry check and re-write your cd key.
You have to launch it non steam.
But like it is said, don't make it a main character. it is just to play around and test builds on.

It seems having more chars in strat is going to be an advantage hence the reason to forbid it.

And I know that those who use family relations for unbanning reasons etc. are generally not regarded as completely trust worthy.

You must however not forget that some people (myself most luckily not included) are forced to be several people on same computer.

Just keep it in mind, I am sure you'll figure out something reasonable.

Yeh, the main character makes sense because of strategus and the marketplace, but if its not a main character it would be really nice to try out the level 30 feature and just play around with a lot of builds otherwise its just the long grind of getting all my alts from low level 20s to level 30.

I dont understand why you cant just use the skip to 30 feature on an alt so you dont have to buy a 2nd copy for that purpose especially seeing that it is sounding like you can only have 1 main character no matter how many cd keys you buy.Basically your 2nd copy your using it on is essentially an alt so I dont really see what limiting alts on that acccount is accomplishing other than making you buy a 2nd copy of the game. Maybe I am missing something though which wont be the 1st time.

P.S. as far as purchasing the game Amazon has M&B WB on sale for $10 I dont know how long it is on sale for though.

All I have seen is one person saying their CD key gets switched back by steam. Perphaps that is because they don.t have 2 steam accounts.

My brother and i play crpg but we both have bought mount and blade warband(2games) and we play on two different computers.
So are we allowed to play strategus with the same ip?

You are allowed to have more than one account from the same computer, but you can not make both of them your main character per chadz.

Anyways, Ive bought the amazon copy and downloaded a second instance of mount and blade. Its working with 2 accounts on my computer. Will write quick guide soon, it wasnt that easy.

OK I have working method for doing this. This method will require 2 installs of mount and blade on  your computer. One Steam, one Non steam.  It is possible to do with only one copy of mount and blade installed but it requires you purchase the 30 dollar version on steam instead of the 10 dollar version on Amazon.

1. Go to Amazon and buy the downloadable version of Mount and Blade: Warband
2. Download the Game.
3. Install The game
4. Go on the Amazon Website and get Your Product Key (there will be a link to obtain it at the post-download screen)
5. Save this Product Key in a notepad. This will be the only product key or information you will need to keep track of.
6. Open up the registry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MountAndBladeWarbandKeys and edit the Product key by adding an A to the start of it.
7. Copy Your Crpg Folder from the Steam modules to the modules folder in program files (i.e. installing crpg for your other mount and blade copy)
8. Run the newly installed copy of mount and blade. It will ask you for a cd Key. Use the one from notepad.
9. Create a new character.
10. Log into a crpg server.
11. Log out of that crpg server.
12. Go to the website and sign in with the character you just created. (the password you use will be the starting password)
13. Type in that characters password for skip the fun. (DO NOT SELECT AS MAIN CHARACTER. Having 2 main characters is bannable because it gives you 2 strategus characters)
14. Place all your points now that you are level 30.
15. Enjoy playing with  your new level 30.

SWITCHING ACCOUNTS:

To go from non-steam character to steam character, simply load up the steam version of mount and blade. It will change your CD key for you on startup.

To go from steam character to non steam character, open up the registry to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MountAndBladeWarbandKeys and edit the Product key by adding an A to the start of it. Then, run the non-steam copy of mount and blade. It will ask you for a cd Key. Use the one from notepad.

My friend stopped playing cRPG he gave me his acc.
But I don't need it so I make skip the fun with my friends serial.

Is that allowed?

And I only installed Warband once. So I only need to change to my friend's steam acc and start warband and I have his chars. So the serial number changes.

I'm using my 2nd key right now, I just bought the game from the store, made a second steam acc, and then installed it with my new cd key.
All I have to do is switch steam accounts, but I never use my old cd key anyway.
