Yeah but when you're at the last ep you're like FUCK I WANT MORE. And then you realize the HunterXHunter manga comes out as often as Berserk manga, which is once every decade or something like that. Then you cry.

Some of you haven't seen Shinsekai Yori? Stop whatever you are doing now and go watch it, it's one of the best anime ever made

And yeah, HunterXHunter is great, you won't find anything better in the shonen genre

Lain is pretty great. Haibane Renmei as well, but they share creators so it makes sense that they have similarity. Texhnolyze too, which you could try if you are looking for something with that thumbprint.

I tried the first couple of eps of Texhnolyze; it didn't seem epic enough to binge-watch, so I guess it's something I can leave for when I'm procrastinating
There are some people who claim it's better than Lain, but Lain had my full attention from the first second to the end and beyond, Texhnolyze is nothing like that

I loved Pitou, such a non-linear villain; insane character development
HXH is one of the few anime where you don't know who to cheer for, both in terms of sympathy and morality

First three episodes were very good, but from 4-6 episodes (that's where I'm currently at) it gets worse imho. Those molerat people annoy me. Think I have an idea how they are involved in this story.

Now that I've seen some quality anime, must say that my favorite manga are missing on best anime list. Simply because they were never made or were made poorly (Gunnm has some piss poor OVA from 90s).
