I know that it has been there for ages but i have not once saw anything that needs it,

i have retired from strat so i might be missing something relating it to that but i've always known strat to have a separate coin pile. so can someone tell me what requires it?

or if you left your strat hero on recruitment you eventualy ran out of money and troops just starved and you dont have money or troops in the end.
