Yeah, it was recommended earlier. I've been meaning to try it out, but haven't got around it unfortunately. Same with Bellum Crucis.

I just love the amount of awesome mods in Total War games. Skyrim is fine 'n all that, but they're mainly tiny mods, as opposed to all the complete overhauls that are in Total War games.

MTW2 is the last time we see complete overhauls mods. From empire and on woulds the game cant be modded to such extent.
To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

And that really makes me a sad panda. The way the entire franchise has progressed makes me a very sad panda.

Yeah, it's a shame. Although, I consider Vanilla Shogun 2 a lot better than vanilla medieval 2. I never really enjoyed Medieval 2 until I went for the mods.

Removed Dominion of the Sword and Shizoku no Senzo from mods in development list.

Shizoku dev doesn't have time to develop it.

Dominion of the Sword cancelled due to copyright issues. (long story short, the devs of the mod wanted to copyright their mod(or parts of it) to stop other modders from creating submods without their permission. CA said they can't claim copyright on the mod, so the modders have ceased development.) Usually uncredited modding is punished by bans on TWC which is the largest website for TW mods.

What's the point of that? It's not like there's any money involved, sounds like they just threw all their work in the bin over some petty bullshit.
Don't.

Well from what I've read, they're bummed that according to the EULA the mod becomes part of CA's/SEGA's property when it's shared(not sure how legal that is, but that's what it says). That's there to protect CA/SEGA from someone selling the mod. And they don't like that, which is understandable. Not that CA/SEGA has ever done anything with any modded stuff.

And then they've also talked about how other modders can steal their work without crediting them, because of not being able to copyright, without repercussions. Which is true legally, they can't stop people from modding their game. However TWC Terms of Service bans plagiarists, so that effectively punishes them pretty severely. This applies for most of the larger modding sites. Some of the stuff they've been saying:

He doesn't seem to understand, that legally modders have never been able to do anything when people steal stuff without credit. Only thing that happens is that the thieves get banned from a bunch of forums if they try to share their stuff. However, if someone tries to sell the mod, regardless of who does it, SEGA legal department will drop a hammer on them.

Here's what Creative Assembly said about this:

It's all a bit convoluted..

Honestly, sounds like they're rather thick. Dunno what they expected, but if they were so concerned about stuff like this, they never should have gotten into modding in the first place. Of course they don't have legal rights to something that's built on someone else's commercial property.
Don't.

I am inclined to feel the same. But god damn it. Dominion of the Sword was shaping up to be awesome. Possibly the most ambitious mod of Medieval 2.

Whatever, I can barely stand to play Medieval anymore anyway, the campaign game is so clunky compared to the newer titles.
