Is a light-lance using horseman that can instantly go hoplite mode when he hits the ground viable? I know the light lance is a top-tier hoplite weapon, but is it acceptable on a mount for lancing and couching?

I did pretty good when i used plus 1 light lance and war horse/courser cav.

I'm debating using a light lance for cav with an awlpike on my back for when my horse dies. Not really sure if I want to do it though.

You can couch with it, but it's noticeably shorter than even the regular lance (which is the one i'd recommend). You'll find that different lances serve different purposes and who knows, maybe you'll be fine with light lance. Just test 'em all out and make a decision from there.

So how do you guys feel about recruiting? We're looking rather...compact. I'd like to change that. I've very rarely seen people go in battle server and type out "Hurp durp battalion is recruiting, check us out" but that kind of shit might work. Something like "If you're new and want to learn, feel free to check out The Pale Horsemen" Big problem I see is people getting bad impressions of us as "the clan that spams chat with recruiting" It's tough to single individual people out and ask them. People alt-tab a lot and many simply don't pay close attention to chat. It sucks trying to work some persuasive magic on someone and have them not respond in the slightest.


Thoughts? Gonna try to introduce my IRL buddy to c-rpg. He's getting his hours cut like a bitch and he isn't in school, so he's got a lot of free-time now. We'll see how that goes!

I keep an eye out for people on battle most of the time, and send some message through the cRPG site if I remember their name. So I'm trying to help you with the recruitment. We'll see how things go with Strat 4 starting up now.
