it looks like an ultimate Medieval sword design, yet its battlefield use in the age of plate armor remains pretty questionable.
because you'd use other weapons for plate. for plate opponents you'd use special techniques, but only if you can't avoid plated enemy. longsword likes to eat peasants and lightly armored free town folk
