These are advanced tips, my intention with this guide was to share the basics.Also on practice lance, a veteran can do well with it, correct but, I doubt a fresh player will play good with it.

Well, I don't take a sidearm myself because if it is really critical and I need a 4d pole, I can always loot one from the ground.

I JUST WANTED TO HGELP D:

Don't knock the practice lance. Couch-ready blunt damage? Its also viable on the ground since you can side swing the thing.

Finally if youre going fast enough, it'll do the same job any of the lances can.

This is coming from someone who swears by the +3 lance.

Also as an extra tip if the new guys go for the abysmally slow heavy lance;

- When your lance reaches your target, make sure is near full extension. It delivers maximum damage. Try not to be in the middle of the stabbing animation (non-optimal damage) or, worse, at full extension (more likely it'll be a whiff/glance because polearm nerf). It takes some practice but you'll likely drop most targets in a single pass.

Also, carry a sidearm. You're going to need it during those times you make a mistake and end up eating dirt. Grab something short and fast, proficiency be damned, since you're going to need to swing fast. People see blood red when a rider goes down close to them.
