So, they kinda save the state of my upgrade and then allow me to clean install after that with my Win8 key?
I tried a full install at first but it wouldn't recognize my Win8.1 Pro N key as legit. So I did the upgrade...

Yes, when you upgrade they add your PC to a whitelist on their servers (hardware based, I guess) and activate a generic license. When you do a clean install you just skip entering the key, and it will automatically activate when you go online.

Guess I'll Keep it till I get a full Windows 10 key and can do a clean full install.

You can already do a clean install, as long as you upgraded first and the free activation was successful.

It's more about narrow AI than AGI, but most people immediately assume AGI when reading AI.

What certain people fail to realize is that Hawking and Musk saying these things is equal to a biologist saying "guys, developing a supervirus that kills absolutely everything and can't be stopped in any way would be pretty dangerous."

And then these certain people think that means AI is coming, and soon. Nope.

A drone that shoots people based on some heuristic qualifies as autonomous weapon (at least according to the definition in that article) and it's not that far fetched.
Unfortunately, less educated people read that as "omg sentient robots are gonna conquer the world in the next decade!!".

If you right click on crpg_beta.exe (in your Warband directory), select the Compatibility tab, is Run in 256 colors checked? If yes, uncheck it. If no, I have no idea why the game thinks that 256 color mode is being used..

your desktop is in 8 bit indexed color mode. I'm assuming that's not the case (or at least it doesn't look like the case from the screenshot you posted)?
