only reason people posting "throwing is fine" here is because 90% of the people attracted to read this thread are throwers.
How could you...!

I really don't think they are OP, but the shotgun-like usage of them may frustrate other melee players.

I am not sure this is a true statement. So far in this thread, it sounds like your "most people" only includes you. I played a pure thrower since I started CRPG, and throwers got a HUGE nerf post-patch.

I think throwing is fine. The only thing that needs changed is shoot speed on the weapons needs buffed back towards the way it was pre-patch. Maybe not all the way, but perhaps a happy medium.
Yes. And more accuracy, just a little bit.

I got a bit flamed for using lances but really, I only have 2 per stack and they cost me a fortune. Also their flying speed is very low, it's more of a shotgun. Moar speed and accuracy. Please :/

Just go naked... You get the most gold that way.

Please, at least get light armor and a real weapon. I mean...at least get stones and a hatched :(

For the next patch, we need a thrower-buff! I would love 4 lances per stack :D

Just get a larger shield, like a kite shield. The work very fine.

And I just dodge bolts and arrows as good as I can ;)

Heavy throwing axes are reasonable priced and just awesome. For polearms...of course the pike.

Isn't range a bitch? I find myself much-much more effective even with a crappy nordic sword.
You can just grab one when you are out of axes. :o
Turns out, tons of guys that I kill use good swords or picks or warhammers.

Anyway...yes, the range is shitty, but I hug my enemy so that does not matter much. Also the damage is very fine.

Jarids are awesome and one-shot everything in light armor and a good hit even one-shots a guy in medium or heavy armor. Just. Awesome.

On reason for heavy armor: My build is purely strength for throwing, I am a brick. 2 athletics here ;)

When you switch to melle mode your 1h wpf kicks in right? so what is a good balance of 1h wpf and trw wpf?
Yes.
I am fine with 100 each. At Level 30 probably with a focus on 1h, because I throw "good enough". :D

My tactics to run into them so they can't swing. Just ran in their sword, shield up. After he glances from you shield, slash his face with an axe. Works ok, even against ninja-builds.

And you don't need a fast weapon for that, my heavy throwing axe is sufficient for that ;)

Agreed. And not only that, every ranged class is pretty weak now against horses.
Fact ... I can run around with a warhorse and don't need to worry about ranged 90% of the time.
Archers are weak and will be less and less common, crossbows are unsuited to shoot at fast targets, and throwing weapons are much too slow.
Horses die pretty fast to javelins and of course throwing lances. :o

That may be true, but try defending at siege! Now, throwing things down a ladder is just gorgeous. You can even hit shielders (no forcefield), enemies have no room to dodge, less tincans that can shrug off axes like it was nothing. I tend to throw both my stacks there, and now I rarely miss.
Funny thing is: it works both ways, have killed my fair share of defenders from the opposite situation.
I saw you today throwing stuff in siege mode \o/

My alt Audacs had quite a success at throwing the heavy axes. I use a shield and 3 stacks axes because they are good enough for melee and 12 are better than 8. Also: 100 WPF is enough.

You underestimate the effect of a fucking SWORD hitting a man. Even if it hits your armor, it's painful enough, especially with a twohander/blunt/axe. And successful thrust will get you out of fighting condition from a fuckin knife, let alone a sword. Yes, even if it hits non-vital parts of your body. You WILL NOT be able to block anything a trained and uninjured fighter can throw at you afterwards.
So even if it just knocks on your helmet a little bit, we're talking about 130+ cm of steel here.
Yup, but that's the rule. Just wanted to prove the point that you can get swing a katana extremly fast with enough power to kill someone. :)

That was the plan. War-darts or axes.

Either way I've got a buddy who is a dedicated thrown that says over 80 WPF isn't worth beans, as the weapons are so inaccurate regardless, so I'd be better off throwing the rest into 2-handed.
I can support this. I have 87 WPF in throwing and it doesn't get much better, axes are not accurate ;)

Heavy throwing axes are hilarious. \o/
