General Discussion / How does the new gold income balance out?

I noticed that I'm getting only 60 gold per tick on x1. But I've been running around with heavy gauntlets + flamberge and medium'ish armor for quite some time now. And I've made a lot profit, how does this thing work now? Did they change the repairs or something?

General Discussion / Flags, why do they spawn so early on battle?

Right now the battle seems to have turned into king of the hill mode where everyone has only one life.

Most of the time the flags spawn before the spawning time for players (first minute of the round) is over. As a result we get bullshit rushes to the flag. No room for tactics or teamplay as it's all about the speed you can get to the flag. Even worse, the flags won't always work. One team might be winning 1v8, get the flag all the way up when the last enemy alive is afk'ing at the spawn, then have to hunt him down because the flags were broken.

Sure, the flags speed up the rounds and prevent 6min long campfests. But why do they have to spawn so early?

Game Balance Discussion / New kind of team balance for battle.

Based on the amount of players online. Right now the balance just doesn't seem to work when the server population is low.

When there are less than ~35 players, force class balance. This way every team will get equal amount of ranged, cav and infantry. Clanstacks are just too stonk = randomers too retarded.

35-80 players online, use the current balance system.

80-240 Full banner balance (possibly improved?) that we had for a short time as an experiment.... that failed. Just so you can always end up in the same team as your bannerbuddies. This last step is optional.


Sounds good? No`? Maybe?
Possibly more factors and "steps"?

So, the previous system was based on raw damage, while the new system uses the actual damage dealt.

New system seems to treat ranged and melee more equally and bla bla bla = many good things.

However, just now on EU_1 I landed a full combo of hit(knockdown) + hit + kick + hit on Latviano aka. Potato whose  overall body armor is 77 (+3 heavy plate armor and heavy gauntlets). Later on I noticed that I only got 3 points from that. So beating the shit out of him wasn't worth my time (especially since I got shot there, but that's another story), instead I should be brutally murdering lightly armored enemies to get easier points.
= IMO the new score system favors peasant hunters, while punishes those hunting the real "high priority" targets wearing heavy armors. Maybe there is more room for improvement.

General Off Topic / Graphics card dying = Hacks!

So, I've had this laptop for 3 years now. Hp crap, but with a very good graphics card in it: Radeon HD 6770M . So it fits for gaming.
Now however, after years of heavy abuse the GPU is dying and I'm getting all kinds of weird bugs where Warband fails to some textures, like walls missing their roofs, people missing their weapons or body parts. However, today the texture bug was somewhat positive:

Today (Tuesday) is gonna be one damn HC strat day :D   Coalition vs Grey Order
First a 4 hour nonstop battles: 3x  ~1800 vs ~1800 shiny armies.
Then a few hours break before the ultimate showdown Ramses(1900) vs Zaalback (1100)  Edit: now it's 1900 vs 2200
Overall exp should be over 4.5mil


I hope both teams will put together their best rosters, and everyone has enough coffee & snacks to survive through all that. So lock your doors and shut down your cell phones!   :lol:

It's prime time, but there are less than 60 players on eu1. And I believe that the reason for that is ranged. People just don't want to play there anymore. Just sayn'  :rolleyes:

Because there is nothing more retarded than carrying around 3 empty stacks of jarids, each weight 4 pounds(?). Or arrows that weight 10.
 Even worse is, that if I pick up a melee weapon with my thrower once I've used all my ammo. And later on loot some new kind of throwing weapons, my char will drop the recently looted melee weapon instead of any of the empty stacks or throwing stuff....

So, once the ammo of 1 stack reaches 0, the stack is destroyed. How about that? Pleeeease?

Anyone else having problems with ping? I just notice that on EU_1 I had over 100 ping all the time, but when I checked the ping teamspeak gives me it was normal ~50ms. I've also noticed that many other fins are having the same problem.  :cry:  Did chadz nerf us? It's the Germans that shuold be nerfed! Some of them have less than 10ms ping!!!

Some time ago I noticed that also some of the teamspeak servers gave me insanely high ping, while others had no problem. So the problem is probably not on any of the cRPG servers.

Suggestions Corner / Ladders back to battle, with high repair costs

Yes, that would bring more creativity to the battle servers. But to avoid 24/7 ranged campfest, put 100% repair chance for the ladders, and REALLY high repair costs. I'd say 400gold for the small wooden ladders for start at least, maybe even more. And higher repairs for bigger ladders, naturally. Altho the smallest ladders would be the most used ones, so the base repair costs for the ladders should be high.
What I want is that bringing a ladder would become a risk aswell. Increase the chance to get/keep a multi, but then again lower the income for that round (only on x4 and x5 you'd keep making money). Or just put the repair cost so high that there wouldn't be any reason to bring a ladder to the battle. Then the ladders wouldn't be used and everyone would be as happy as they are now.

Anyway, someone bringing a ladder into a battle would bring a nice change.

WSE2 Beta / Weapon trails - suggestion

They look awesome, but with slower weapons they look a bit retarded  :lol:  lhb from horseback for example is way too slow :D  Maybe change the length of the trail to depend on the  speed of the weapon? Not sure if possible, but for me it sounds simple. Certain animation, first stretched to fit the length of the weapon. Then the thickness of the animation is determined by the speed of the weapon. Yes? Sounds do'able?

Also, the weapons now turn invisible/blurry + have the trail, if you look from certain angles it's hard to see where the weapon is going + looks stupid. So maybe keep the weapons as "normal" and then add the blur to them? Maybe simply add third choice to the "weapon trails" option:
None = none.
Low = this what I'm suggesting. 
Full = what we have now if they are turned on.

Ofc. this might not be on the top 3 things to do on the priority list, but since you did add weapon trails why not improve them?

WSE2 Beta / Massive stuttering

My fps stays around 100 all the time, but when there are a lot of a people around the game starts to stutter A LOT. Sometimes the attack animations are skipped completely, people just running around and dying without anyone really swinging a weapons. Unplayable. Started yesterday when I downloaded wse2.
