Title: Standard Press Kit
Post by: Erasmas on November 25, 2014, 09:32:02 pm
Guys, we will need a .txt or .doc version of the press kit to prepare localized version for distribution.  I did not notice that in the set you posted Nessaj. We can make something up but I believe it would be better to get something that you want to spread  :D Something brief but comprehensive that could be easily translated and posted on forums, or sent to blogers or something you could send to press. Standard shit for many language versions, so folks here could help translating.

Can we use this crap Knitler made, or maybe you want to edit that somehow? For forums this looks fine but for press?:

Besides, it lacks kickstarter link  :D

The press kit Nessaj posted has a .txt file with information and link to the kickstarter, from where they can get the rest of the info, and tons of images in various folders...

Press kits should be short and sweet, like this: http://www.rain-games.com/press/sheet.php?p=teslagrad

You don't want journalists to have to look over too much information and do research themselves. They get hundreds of emails a day, the more convenient it is for them the more they'll be willing.

Having the presskit as a download may cause some of them to look away too, it's better to host it. Consider using http://dopresskit.com/

I agree with this bit. I like the style of the teslagrad press kit. Having a website where you can see various bits, quotes from other press, etc without having to download a 70mb zipfile is probably a much better solution than what we've got now (... a 70mb download).
