Questions & Answers
Feel free to post your questions regarding the tournament and we will try to respond in a timely manner.
Q. Can a ranged guy spawn with stones, but just not use them, to essentially becoming a 4th melee guy?
A. No. To be counted as ranged, rather than another melee, you will need to have at least a requirement 1 PT/PD weapon or spawn with both a crossbow and bolts (of any type). Also, there is a maximum limit of only two crossbows allowed to be spawned per team, in any single round. All characters are able to loot any weapons they find.
Q. Construction sites allowed? Healing tents/ Equip boxes etc. Also siege shields and spikes?
A. No to C. Sites, Yes to Siege Shields and Spikes.
Q. Looms are Allowed and there are no weapon/armor/upkeep restrictions, right?
A. Correct, with the only exception being that Donkeys and Sumpter Horses are forbidden.
Q. You cannot make a replacement of a player unless the player you are replacing was listed on your original 5, correct?
A. No. If you need to replace a replacement, you can do so. Keep in mind though, you only get 3 replacements for the whole tournament and only members that have participated in 50% or more matches, will be eligible for tournament prizes.
Q. How are maps selected, or is it random? A little more clarification on how the scoring system works would be nice.
A. During the group stage I will be selecting the map for each round.
Q. Do 4 teams from each group advance into the tournament, or only the top 2 from each group?
A. The top 4 teams from each group will move on to the knockout stage (16 in total).
Q. When/Where are the round deadlines decided/found.
A. As we get closer to the start of a new round, deadlines will be updated. Deadlines for the Group Stage are found here (http://forum.melee.org/official-crpg-5v5-na-tournament/%28ocna-5s%29-group-stage-information-fixtures/) and deadlines for the Knockout Stage will be posted here (http://forum.melee.org/official-crpg-5v5-na-tournament/%28ocna-5s%29-knockout-stage-information-fixtures/).

Also you say max 3 melee, so can one guy get a throwing lance and only use it as melee, and can one guy bring rocks and another weapon and be counted as a range?

Yes to both. If the rock thrower would rather play a gimped melee build that's weighted down by rocks, and the team wants to field such, sure. Not sure why any team would actually want to do this though, especially if they've taken a look at the map list.

Alright, change of rules to both help clarify the rule as well as reduce "exploiting". To be counted as ranged, rather than another melee, you will need to have at least a requirement 1 PT/PD weapon or spawn with a crossbow and bolts of any type.

So can Pole/2h Spawn with a 2h or Pole as well as a Crossbow WITHOUT bolts, and if so, can the ranged give them ammo as well?

They can spawn without bolts if they want to be melee, but they need both a crossbow and bolts to be counted as ranged.
Edit: Also, there's an arbitrary cap of only 2 crossbows per team, just to ensure this doesn't get abused. I'll be updating the rules for both of these.

May I get a clear answer on if I'm able to join more then one team in this tourney, IE. Captain for team A, Reserve for team B. Team A lose, Team B moves on, I remain the the tourney as a reserve for team B. Is this allowed?

One team per person, per tournament.

So a horse archer is a separate category, right? It doesn't take a cavalry or a ranged spot?

I believe it takes both, actually... a cavalry AND a ranged spot.

I will be playing on a friend's PC for the tournament since I don't really want to use my 30fps shitbucket machine I'm stuck with right now. I don't really want to switch CD keys so I'll be using his account. His main is TimmyTheMadmy old friendDadLad2HBadFad, and I'll just rename his skip the fun character to Cockstar_Sanderssuck.
Hope that's fine, just wanted to clear it up before someone makes a stink about it.

STF only, you can do everything else as often as you want, except that you cannot respec during a match.

I see that there's a match going on right now, but the twitch account that is supposedly streaming this tournament is offline? Is "siking517" the correct account for spectating? Or is this account just for the EU event?

That's just for the EU Tournament. We'd need to find an NA guy to stream it for us.
