The Crusaders of Acre is an old faction, founded on the principles of teamwork and structure by a player named Reinhardt. Through an extended period spanning multiple strateguses King Reinhardt led Acre bravely to gain renown and glory. Now under the leadership of King James of Acre we seek those who are willing to swear allegiance to our faction and take  part in our tactics and formations. As we fight together, we value cooperation and skill. We encourage those who are affiliated with other factions to take part in our formations and fight with us on the field, but for those searching for a faction to call home, the Crusaders of Acre are here. Join the Crusaders of Acre today and carve out your slice of Eternal Glory!

The Crusaders of Acre need YOU TODAY! We have a good group of chill guys and are always looking for more to join our forces. We are active in Strategus and plan on remaining active through the end of Strategus IV into Strategus V. We are specifically looking for players in the following categories:

Archer
Crossbow
Polearm
Cav
1h/Shield

We accept both french and english speaking players as our commanders speak both languages. However command in battle is delivered in english. If you can follow the commands in english and fight with us as a group you are welcome to join us. Lord Axeman and myself will communicate individual strategus orders in the language of your choosing. Currently the large majority of the clan speaks english as a first language with only a few members speaking french. We are however open to all players english or french who wish to join us and fight with us.

We accept people assuming they can prove some maturity to us. We will also accept classes not listed those are merely the ones needed the most.

We are very interested in Strategus and as so are looking for players who also share our zeal for Strategus. If you are a player enthralled by the true nerd potential of Strategus you may be our man.

Under FCC and Kesh you guys mean? Might want to correct that.

Thank you for your input Goretooth. We are currently in the FCC yes as a result of the events of this strategus. However  in the next Strategus we will be looking to act independently from the FCC as our own sovereign state making our own diplomatic choices.

I will give your thread an upvote and respect you when you stop all crutching on transitional plate in NA_1. You seem good but you can never be certain if someone is good or just crutching when they are swinging a 2h in plate.

Not all Acre members wear heavy armor but I confess that I myself almost never enter combat without properly gearing up. As a 2h Swordsman with no shield I must rely on my armor to keep me alive from ranged and farmerbob lol.

I've never had a problem with anyone calling me a plate crutch as it seems reasonable to me to wear plate into combat when swords, axes, spears and a variety of rather pointy and sharp objects seem to be the weapons of choice. Oh if only we all used wooden training swords and the ranged just threw rocks perhaps I could wear a coat of plates.

Haha Thanks. I don't know why so few people wear armor. I find it very beneficial. Calling someone an armor crutch in medieval combat to me is equivalent to " Hey you asshole you are well prepared! Fuck you!". I actually think every time someone bitches about armor that it fuels me to wear more and for longer :D

Fighting people in plate with 5 PS and a 1h cut weapon is enough to bring me to tears at times. All I hear is *slight crunch* every time I hit them while the person in plate is probably laughing as I slowly shave their life away. But good luck on the new leadership!
Title: Re: The Crusaders of Acre under King James
Post by: njames89 on September 25, 2013, 05:37:16 pm
Haha yes. The 1h cut weapons definitely have it rough against heavily armored foes. However the 1h stabs don't have it so bad anymore. I get 3 shotted by one of the GoW guys. Knarfy or something. I think hes a str build that uses 1h. I love watching several people glance off me as i spin around decapitating their allies. Don't know if I could go back to wearing light armor lol the heavy is just too much fun.

Specifically surviving hits I find really fun. I've never really done an agility based build. Only done heavy strength or balanced builds. It's not that I don't think it would be fun to be a speedy player more that I rage when I get one shotted/ranged

I will be and welcome all Acre faction members to, post RP content for our faction in our faction hall thread. Ideal topics worthy of RP posts include, battles, sieges, trading, diplomacy, or any other event in game you feel is worthy of being transcribed and recorded for all time into the Acre annals. Once again my nerd zeal is powerful and so I will definitely write an RP post for you if you provide me with the event and some details/plot lines. Also the ideal RP is based on actual events on strategus and would not conflict with other peopls RP's.

Black has been added in honor of the dead king. RIP Reinhardt.

I'm going to cry now.

The bannermakers had been hard at work crafting the new heraldry of the Crusader Kingdom of Acre. Tanken and Delson had through combined labour created a new banner to be carried by the crusaders under King James. Black had been incorporated into the banner in honor of King Reinhardt.

Thanks to both Tanken and Delson for making this possible. I think it looks great.

The new banner is fitting and will represent Acre through a new Age. The old banner will be retained and will hang in the Acre cathedral in honor of Dead King Reinhardt.

Bit off topic from the current flow of small talk, but this is a bio I made for Peasant_Archer_Qizan (Kizan)<----that's how you're supposed to say it.
Anyway, here it goes

Qizan has pale skin, dark brown eyes and shoulder length black hair tied back to keep out of his eyes. He has an angular face and large eyes and is 5' 6" with a small build. His clothes are cheap and drab. In contrast, his bow and arrows are well taken care of, although not expensive.

Qizan signed up for the King's army and the young age of 16. He didn't have much. His father, the last living member of his family, had embarked on a pilgrimage to the Jordan like many of the other pillgrams. Only, his father's party got caught in a Saracen ambush. Now Qizan must find his father, if he's alive, and avenge him if he's not.

Luckily, Qizan still has his father's old bow and arrows and the training his father gave him. He now has to rise in ranks. The only thing that stands in his way is time, criminals that he owes money to, and the daunting task of tracking down the Saracens and his father.

tell me what you think pls

I have taken this opportunity inspired by Smals to pen my own short history for all to see. I invite other Acre members to do the same. Alternatively if you are too lazy to write one yourself but have some ideas of interesting character traits I would be happy to write your character a short back story to include in our crusader RP posts.

A short history of the exploits of King James in C-RPG and Strategus

Born to the family of a huntsman in the woods north of Slezkh Castle James had always had an affinity for the tundra. It was his home, it had raised him from his youth. As a child his father had taken in priority the art of tracking and hunting to teach to his son. Many a month was spent in the woods trailing ferocious black bears or glorious woodland stags. The skills James' father had passed to him had proved useful throughout his military career.

As a young soldier he had been recruited to fight in the Teutonic armies commanded by Teutonic Wesley. At this point James was a raw recruit with little over a half year of C-RPG combat experience who had never participated in a Strategus battle. Training and honing his skills James practiced hard to increase his skill level, often spending hours upon hours dueling with combatants from across the realm in the fabled NA 3 arenas.

As time passed it became evident that the Teutonic faction was experiencing a downturn and with the departure of its commander Wesley James decided it was time for him to set off on his own to try and make it in the realm as an independent. Within a short period of time it became evident that this was not an efficient nor easy way to operate in strategus.

This was to be the thought that led James to creating the Landsknechts a mercenary faction composed of some of James' closest followers. By this point James had grown from a fledgling fighter to a fighter who could hold his own against most in the realm. The Landsknechts were where James would form a strong bond with his current second in command Lord Axeman of Acre as well as Crusader Whoopsie of Acre. The Landsers fought together for a period of several months as mercenaries with a small amount of involvement in strategus.

One day as he was honing his stabbing abilities James was approached by a nobleman bearing the crest of Acre, a Crusader Kingdom once based in the south of Strategus that was reforming its territories in the north close to the lands called home by James. The man's name was Reinhardt, he spoke of great victories and eternal glory to be attained through holy crusades in the name of chadz. Having himself been raised a strong member of the chadzian faith bloodlust in the name of chadz as well as gold and glory was enough to catch James' attention.

It was on this day the Landsknechts were merged into the Crusaders of Acre. James rose quickly through the ranks of Acre due to his feverish loyalty and zeal for the Crusader cause. Eventually rising to the title of Lord of Acre through the Dracul/Raven sieges of Yruma. Fought in numerous defenses of the captured city of Ichamur and upon the passing and abdication Good King Reinhardt becoming King James of Acre.

Currently the Crusaders of Acre under the rule of King James control Nova Slezkh castle as well as Nova Curaw and are sworn to the service of the Free Companies of Calradia. James had experienced quite a journey through this land to attain his current rank and position. He was still young compared to others in the realm with much more experience than he but he knew that his faction was loyal and his members zealous knights for the cause. James would never forget his northern roots and promissed to his gods never to relinquish the lands he came to hold in the name of Acre so long as he may draw one more breath and purge one more infidel from the holy tundra.

Ah yes certainly. Congratulations to all of our members who have recently received their hard earned promotions.

The training courtyard at Nova Slezkh had been a buzz as of late. The men had been working hard in training to improve themselves, James had noted their efforts and was pleased. As such he initiated several trials and the results were as follows.

Crusader RG Smals, Promoted to Knight RG Smals

Crusader Cameron, Promoted to Knight Cameron

Brother Vryx, Promoted to Crusader Vryx

Brother Jedae, Promoted to Crusader Jedae

Rissen, Promoted to Brother Rissen

The mysterious french knight Rissen had come to James one night in the King's Arms tavern in the greasiest corner of the Curaw. He spoke little english but was well versed in french. Upon sharing a mighty portion of ale it became clear that Rissen was a skilled knight in need of contract. James explained the crusade of his holy knights and could see the fire burning in Rissen's eyes. Then and there Rissen was sworn into the holy order.

Within a short period of time it became clear the french knight had great prowess for guarding the King. Without being ordered, asked, or commanded Rissen made it his personal quest to increase the longevity of the King. For this James was grateful as it was known through the realm that he oft charged into battle without much thought for his own preservation. For this reason James made the arrangements to have Rissen sworn into his royal guard.

Congratulations to Brother Rissen of Acre on his promotion to the special rank of Royal Guard.

The Return of the Kingsblood

It was a cold late October night in the north of the tundra. The hearths in the Curavian great hall had been burning all night in anticipation of a very special guest. Word had reached James that the elite soldiers he had sent on a secret quest earlier in the month had been able to locate their target. James had had to pay a sum of gold to some unscrupulous character in a local tavern to even hear of the target's location.

The target James had been trying to locate was the long lost bastard son of the previous monarch King Reinhardt. James' men had located Ronald McDonald. He had been swashbuckling the eastern coasts in the far off regions barely inhabited by men. It had taken his envoys nearly two months of hard searching after being provided the tip to locate the ship on which Ronald was engaged. James had received word that Ronald was indeed interested in enlisting after the envoys had made communication with him by Raven. Having once lived as a pirate there was no doubt the lifestyle change would take some getting used to.

James and Ronald spoke for an extended period of time as Ronald was eager to hear tell of his father's exploits. Eventually the topic turned to a position in the Crusader Order. "I wish to receive no special treatment for being the son of the old King" Ronald declared. This was nonsense of course, James knew Ronald was of noble crusader blood. "I won't have it... You'll take the title of Knight and no less" James replied. Having been briefed on the combat skill of Ronald by the men he had sent to fetch him James was assured that Ronald would hold his own with a blade in hand against most trained forces of the realm.

Upon sealing the agreement and swearing Ronald into the ranks of the Crusaders James went to his balcony overlooking the courtyard in central Curaw. He had the trumpet players signal a royal address and spoke down to his peoples "Today the son of a great man has come to us. Though he has not fought with us yet he has sworn himself to our cause. I present to you Knight Ronald of the Crusaders of Acre, Son of Good King Reinhardt." This was received by a mixed roar of "Huzzah" and "Deus Vult" from the populace and the intermixed Crusaders.

As he walked back through his offices and bid Ronald good morrow James mentioned one last thing to Ronald "I won't have a proper knight fighting in rags. There will be a suit of armor in your quarters by morning. Your father would be proud." James was sure that Ronald would prove a valuable asset to the order. After all he had the Kingsblood.

Welcome back Reinhardt Ronald. Good to have you. I look forward to your service to Acre.

A Honeymead fueled assault on Ayikke

The army had been marching now for almost a day through heavy snows. Delson had been complaining for hours about how he had not been briefed properly and was ruining his boots. How could a man be so obsessed with footwear James wondered. Hell had Delson not been so adamant about bringing half the Acre supply of mead the trip would have been a fair amount shorter.

The Crusader forces Delson was leading had been prepared with the finest gear from the armoury. James was eager to see how Delson would perform leading troops in the field, the man had been eager to join the fight and contribute to the cause. James admired this of Delson. The army had reached its destination and was forming up its ranks and building assault fortifications. The town appeared to be underdefended. Rumour had it the enemy had some difficulties relating to the logistics of bringing in mercenaries. As the batttle started James saw Delson running in screaming ferociously "IL MAKE FUCKING BOOTS OF YOU YET YOU FUCKS!"

***

As the battlefield settled and the Crusaders moved into the recently captured Ayikke James went to find Delson. After some searching he located Delson in the leatherworks of Ayikke. The fool had already taken to crafting a new pair of boots. "Delson I worry sometimes about you. I don't even want to know what those boots are made of. I came to congratulate you on masterfully directing this army. Your contribution to the cause has been noted" James spoke. The two Crusaders conversed for a period of time and then James moved on to tend some of the Crusaders wounded in the combat.

Ulrich von Lichtenstein von Reinhardt

Years had passed since his adoptive pirate brethren had named the young kings-blood Ronald. He had hated the name ever since it was first bestowed upon him by his first captain, at the age of seven. For years he had carried his cursed name around as the identity of his pirate life. He knew that his mother had bestowed upon him a holy name, one that the Crusader Order from which he came would welcome. However, he was unaware that his father was the fabled King Reinhardt. He had occasionally wondered who his father might be, and why his mother had given him to a scruffy old sea captain, but he often expelled these thoughts quickly from his mind. When a group of disguised Crusaders approached him in port one day, Ronald was taken aback. He was perplexed as to why a group of Crusaders would be searching explicitly for him in these faraway lands. It was not until they were discussing their journey's purpose over a cup of ale that Ronald had realized that this encounter may lead to the discovery of his true identity. Perhaps these Crusaders might be able to tell him where he came from and who his father was. They spoke for several hours...

"I'm... the son of King Reinhardt?" he questioned.

"How can that be!? My mother was simply a farmer's widow in Yruma."

One of the Crusaders answered, "We were accompanying your father when he saved her from brigands outside her farm."

He continued, "Twenty men had wandered to your mother's farm, in search of plunder. Our party had noticed from a distance what was happening, and your father rode fast towards these brigands. He killed two of them before we were able to reach him, and then killed three more during the skirmish. When it was over, your mother thanked him, and soon after, you were born. Your mother sent you away before you were old enough to find out who your father really was."

There was a silence for a time, as Ronald grasped the reality of what the Crusader had said Ronald replied, "And you were sent here to find me... because I'm of royal blood?"

The Crusader responded, "In part. Good King Reinhardt is passed, and on his deathbed he chose his loyal servant Lord James to be named King, as your father knew he had no legitimate heirs. Shortly after his coronation, King James sent us on a quest to find you and return you to him, so that you may join our Order."

Ronald was still trying to digest what had been said, but was relieved to finally be told who his father was and why he was sent away. He agreed to travel with the men back to their capital city of Curaw, in order to find out more about his father, himself, and what King James was to make of him.

They reached the city gates of Curaw, a white and gold banner positioned in front of the gatehouse for all to see. Ronald was escorted to the throne room, where a man in a white and gold cloak sat, while two heavily armored guards on either side of him stood at attention. The men who had escorted him all this way kneeled, and Ronald followed. "Rise", said the King. "It is really you, is it? I'm glad to see you have come. I presume my men here told you why I sent for you?" Ronald replied, "Yes, my liege. They explained to me that I am the son of King Reinhardt." "Does this surprise you?", James asked. "It's taken us weeks to get here, and it still hasn't sank in completely.", Ronald answered. "I can only imagine... I sent for you not only because you are the son of Reinhardt, but because I have an offer for you.", James stated. "What is it you offer, my liege?" Ronald questioned. "I would like for you to join our Holy Order. You shall be a Knight of Acre, sworn in fealty to me, and take on the surname Reinhardt, as your father would have wanted.", James replied. "I would be honored, sire.", answered Ronald. "Then step forward and kneel. From this day onward, you shall be known as Knight Ulrich von Reinhardt of Acre, son of Good King Reinhardt, Knight of Acre, and Protector of the Realm.", the King said as moved his sword from Ronald's shoulder to the other. "Ulrich, sire?", Ronald blurted, confused. "Ronald was bestowed upon you illegitimately, by your old pirate brethren, I would presume. It is not a holy name, and is one that I do not enjoy hearing. Ulrich is a name from your father's birthplace, an honorable and holy name; one that Crusaders would look to you and show you respect for.", replied the King. "Thank you, my King", said the newly named Ulrich. "I shall serve thee well."

In his office high inside the keep of Curaw James was looking over some papers that had been brought to him detailing the progress of some of his crusaders in their training. It seemed that several of the men had made excellent leaps in their ability. Specifically James noted the performance of Blue and Jedae. James had also been closely watching the progress of Reinhardt's son Ulrich who had recently taken up a new name wishing to cast off his pirate given name.

Jedae had recently been promoted to crusader and since then had shown much ability as a leader in the field. Having watched Jedae's tactics James felt it was time to fill the vacant role of Marshal of Acre previously held by Deekay of Acre.

Blue had also shown much improvement, having become a fierce mounted knight. His skill in assisting the foot soldiers from horseback could not be denied. While Blue was still new to the order James felt it was time that he be promoted into the ranks of the bretheren of Acre. His service in the battles of hallows eve was a great assistance.

Ulrich was one of the more skilled fighters James had ever seen to have not been properly trained. How he had learned such skilled footwork and swordplay without the proper training from a castlellan escaped James. As James had been looking to add another member to his royal guard he offered the position to Ulrich. "It would be an honor to serve in your royal guard" Ulrich replied. James made arrangements to have the holy seal of the Acre Royal Guard emblazoned on Ulrich's armor.

Hagleigh was one of the veteran members of Acre having been with the order since early in the days of King Reinhardt. Throughout his service to the order Hagleigh has maintained a strong level of support and dedication to the cause. Currently holding the rank of crusader it was certainly time to promote Hagleigh and upon completion of the required trials Hagleigh was promoted. After expressing an interest in an position in the Royal Guard James had Hagleigh sworn in.

Congratulations to the following members on their promotions!

Crusader Jedae, Promoted to Marshal Jedae

Blue, Promoted to Brother Blue

Knight Ulrich, Promoted to Knight RG Ulrich

Crusader Hagleigh, Promoted to Knight RG Hagleigh

A Midnight March on Yruma

The vanguard was being led by the newly elected Acre Marshal Jedae. Eager to get into the fray Jedae had personally asked the King to be equipped to lay siege to Yruma. The Confederacy had declared war on the Free Companies and threatened the Kingdom of Acre. Marching through the night a human error and shitty night time setting fierce storm had blown in and severly delayed the army. Trudging slowly through the snows the Marshal's forces arrived at the castle in the early hours of the morning.

Having been exhausted merely an hour before the battle James was unable to oversee his Marshal's attack. He would have to make do with reports from the battle.

Never the less they put up a strong assault breaching the castle walls and killing many of the defenders. There was a long period of skirmishing on the castle walls and an extended stand by the defenders in the gatehouse. There were some complaints from the men of poor supply. The report James had read on his desk told of a few soldiers who spent near the entire assault screaming "THERE AREN'T ANY 0 SLOT WEAPONS!?!?!". Overall however the siege had been a success. The men had been able to deal a sizeable blow to the defending force.

James sent word to Jedae by rider

"I have heard the tidings of your assault on Yruma. Nearly the best outcome we could have hoped for. Your men performed well. I will have more orders for you soon. Deus vult!"

James made a note to ensure that he would be able to attend future assaults of the white walls of Yruma and signed an order for 10,000 broad short swords. There would be no more equipment shortages.

A Midnight Defense of Yruma

The defense force was undermanned, there was disorder and chaos in the ranks, a glitch in the code and a lack of attention had lead the battle to be at a shitty time.

A long bloody battle was carried out, many forward spawns were destroyed and many ladders were displaced by the magic aura created by the castle.  The defending force had done well, for having fewer men than the attackers, however the manpower of the castle had received a bloody nose.  The bodies of the dead were thrown over the walls and stacked below, as the castle repaired itself with the powers that all fortresses possess.

Artyem was busy scraping brain matter off of his spathovaklion, as he had crushed many skulls during the siege.  The ASS PRINCE was preparing his army for a battle that would take place only a kilometer away from the castle walls.  His clansmen had seen better days, as Larry was defeated in the field and had retreated to the place known as Europe.  Reykjavik, the brave keeper of the grounds, was slain in battle, defending his homeland from the invading nerds.

The law stood up from his position on the walls, and peered down at the graves of his fallen brethren below, and then out towards the approaching FCC force.  He inhaled deeply and closed his eyes, before saying words he had spoken many times before,

"get dunked on, bitch"

James had just come from a personal training session held with crusader Delson and the recently recruited Marcus Aurelius. The training had gone well and Marcus was progressing well through the Acre trials system. In dueling with the King himself Marcus had shown considerable skill with two handed swordsmanship. "Marcus you will renounce your title of Marcus Aurelius as you are now Brother Aurelius of Acre, congratulations. Often our members give up some part of their name and take the ranks and name of our Kingdom, it is a great honor." James told the newly promoted Aurelius of Acre.

Congratulations to Marcus Aurelius, Promoted to Brother Aurelius

Chumley had deserted the banner earlier when he had feared the crusaders would not survive through the transition of Kings. Upon his request to return to serve the crusader order James questioned his loyalty. Chumley had a strong desire to come back. James decided to leave it up to his men, Chumley's fellow crusaders. It was put to a vote and Chumley was accepted into the order again. "There will be more second chances Chumley" James explained. Upon returning James had demoted Chumley for his desertion.

***

Some time had passed and Chumley was working hard to regain his status in the order. James had taken notice of this and had called a trial for the recently returned Chumley of Acre. As the King tested Chumley in duel there were many extended periods of swordplay. Chumley had at least not let his sword skills deteriorate in his absence. As the two crusaders hung up their equipment at the end of the training period James turned to Chumley and said "Well fought Chumley I am pleased to let you know you have met the requirements for advancement into the brotherhood of Acre. Well done". James then went on to looking over battle reports from the south where the crusaders were involved in a multi-faction cooperative assault on New Yruma.

Congratulations to Chumley, Promoted to Brother Chumley

The Ramblings of Cymro

It was early. Too damn early. Winter's bite gripped the chill, frosty morning air. A hard frost had covered the land leaving everything encompassed in a white blanket, the frozen ground crunched underneath the feet of the returning sentries as they slogged back to their tents in hope of a few hours sleep before the day began. Cobwebs glittered in their frosty glory, casting a serene beauty to the trees they hung from. The only sense of beauty in this miserable place. Soldiers huddled around hastily built fires holding their hands towards the flames whilst the first smells of breakfast wafted through the bitter cold air. I was a soldier in that camp. Some called me 'Lord' but in truth I was a bastard more than anything else. Once, I had served for the Crusaders of Acre, a proud band of warriors, men that could be trusted and respected, an honourable band. I served under the King Reinhardt as it was back then, now he was a stern man, a man of piety, yet he stayed true to his men, he used his sword arm to strike down his foes whilst his shield protected his men more than himself. He was a good fighter.

I was there. There's nothing I could do. The regrets that I have felt these past years have never subsided. I failed my King. I was there at his side as he died. I will not delude you with impossible feats that he struck down numerous foes, bleeding from open wounds, holding back a flood of enemy troops as his dying breaths told us to retreat. No for that would be disdainful, dishonest and our King was a man of integrity so i will not dishonour his name. He died as easily as me or you could. A crossbow bolt. The bastards were good shots I'll give them that. We were ambushed upon the plains that surrounded the small village of Emirin. To our West lay steep cliffs, our left flank was protected by that natural boundary however to fight we had to turn and face our foes upon our right flank, our backs now against the rocky cliffs. They came at us like demons. No battle formation, no discernible commanders, just one rush, a single charge. Burdened by our heavy plate armour we were caught unawares, slow to manoeuvre and assemble we were a shambles. We stood no chance. Time and time again I tell myself this yet it doesn't ease the guilt i feel for failing my King. The enemy crashed into our ranks, their numbers driving deep into our sloppy formation, slowly they drove us back. Each step we took back we left more dead and wounded. The  cries of the injured as they were set upon by a horde of crazed fanatics still sends shivers down my spine and haunts my dreams. They continued to drive into our ranks, aiming for the Gold and White banner as our King shouted encouragement to our troops, his sword aim flickering as he parried and thrust sending his opponents howling in pain back into their ranks. I was next to him covering him with my shield as his bloodrage increased, I was shouting encouragement to our troops, 'hold firm,' stick it to em lads'. It didn't help much. A sudden splash of warmth upon my face jerked my head around to stare open eyed at my King as he sank to his knees, his sword clattered to the floor as his gauntled hand clasped his neck where a fledged bolt protruded, it had punched through his aventail, finding a weak spot in the chainmail. A roar rose from our men as they saw their King fall, they pushed forward giving me enough time to hear my King's final words:

"Protect the Banner," he gasped, the pain reducing his voice to a mere whisper.

The blood bubbled from his neck as he struggled to breath before closing his eyes he exhaled his final breath.

"Rest in Peace brother," i muttered, tears forming in my eyes as i removed the crown that circled his helmet.

Our men had pushed forward in their rage yet the momentum they had gained was now gone and once more they were being pushed back. Standing up I rushed to the banner, tearing it from the wooden pole it was attached too. Wrapping the crown in the banner of our Lord I took in my surroundings. Not much to tell, death surrounded me. I was a Lord without purpose, my oath broken I no longer held allegiance to these men. Enraged by the death of my King i knew what i must do. Grabbing those closest to me, my brothers in arms that I had fought with for years i set new orders. Some I would never see again, their bones picked clean by the scavengers that flock to a battlefield. Shouting one last encouragement to our troops I re-entered the fray. Pushing through to the front ranks i unleashed my fury upon these scum. I wasn't the Grand Duke for nothing. My arm filled with the frenzy of battle as adrenaline pumped through my veins. Either side my men now pushed back. Hacking and slashing they drove the enemy back, step by step they fell back. Each time hitting harder than the last, each time they struck for their King, each blow maiming or killing their foe. Minutes ticked by, time slowed as i continued to slash and parry my foes, carving a path, littering the ground with dead.

It was over as quickly as it had begun. The enemy troops melted before us, slowly stepping back until they were clear before turning around and running back to whence they had come. No warning, no command, they just fell back. Their duty was done. To kill a King. 80 Crusaders of Acre lay dead, with another 100 wounded. Only 60 of the enemy had fallen, 5 felled by my own hand. It was a dark day for the men of Acre. Our King was heirless, our Kingdom was doomed to crumble. The aftermath proved difficult for many of us. Our allegiances were torn, our army defeated and our King dead. Arguements broke out, punches were thrown and our once honourable men turned into a mob, striking one another over petty squabbles. Shortly after most of our forces broke away, most choosing to follow a Knight named James who later became the new King of Acre. Yet myself and a few others fled North, to the tundra wastes of Calradia. There we set up an independent state. The State of Alburqia was formed. Our purpose to protect the banner and crown of Acre.

Yet I was now freezing. Surrounded by my own men once more. We were here for vengeance. The North had hardened our hearts. We were all killers now. News had reached me that a bastard son of Reinhardt had been found. That old dog. He was Kingsblood and so my oath was once more active. I was sworn to protect this bastard boy, and protect him I would. However I could not begin to fulfill my duty whilst those bastards that murdered my King were still roaming free. My scouts had tracked them to the frozen wastes outside of Khudan, and here we would become the ambushers. Murder filled our minds as we readied ourselves to set out. A day of killing was ahead of us, oh how this day would be filled with glory and honour. Looking towards my command tent i smiled as I saw the banner of Acre, a Golden cross upon a white background.

Once again Gold and White shall take the field

A Summary of the Confederacy and Free Companies Fall/Winter conflict at New Yruma in the year MMXIII as recounted by King James

The defenders had been a stalwart force. Unyielding in their defense until the end. James admired the final 600 men who fought bravely. A stand that would last in the history books. Offered safe passage from the castle this 600 had chosen instead to hold this castle until the last. Fighting into the castle they had cut at the atackers falling man by man retreating into the upper reaches of the castle. There it came down to the castlellan that had been left in charge of the final stand and a knight whose face was covered. The fighting was raging elsewhere as James and Kilge circled the castlellan and a mysterious knight who James could not identify though he had a guess as to who it was. James went at the castlellan cutting swiftly for his face, missing slightly James spun and thrusted his sword deep through the guts of the castlellan. James kicked the corpse off his blade and turned to help Kilge. Unfortunately he did so just in time to see the mysterious knight rip off his faceplate and shout "FUCKING GET DUNKED ON" as he pierced Kilge's helmet instantly killing the long time crusader and friend of James.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" James cried as he swung his blade furiously at Artyem who was attempting to retreat up a staircase into the higher parts of the castle. As they fought up the stairs James felt a sharp searing pain in his calf. A young traitor soldier had speared James in the calf to allow his superior to make an escape. As James turned he made one swift cleave right to left cutting the soldier's head clean in two. By the time he turned back Artyem was gone. James returned to where Kilge lay. James picked up the short man and carried him down to the courtyard. Nothing could be done for him but he would rest in the crypts reserved for the most honored crusaders. God had callen him to fight in the kingdom of heaven.

The assault had been iniated ages ago now it seemed. Several armies had been smashed on the walls at New Yruma. It had been a bloody affair. For every fallen crusader and allied soldier from the free companies there lay dead an almost even number of traitors. Had the price been to high? James did not know. Thousands had marched on the castle, a much smaller force remained. Reinforcements from the north would arrive shortly. He drew strength from knowing his men had reclaimed the former seat of the Kings of Acre. King Reinhardt was no doubt smiling down on James and his men.

The snowy rolling hills surrounding Yruma lay littered with broken siege equipment cast aside in the fray. Piles of broken gear were being formed to be melted down and reforged. The order of the silent sisters was busy clearing the dead from the field. A task made abnormally gruesome by the sheer scale of the conflict. A graveyard was erected and dedicated to the dead of the conflict. The traitor and Free Companies soldiers felled in the battle would be interred in the New Yruma cemetery. James hoped the cemetery would serve as a reminder to all of the horrors of war. James had lost many good men through the conflict.

The halls of Yruma had remained relatively unchanged. Some small changes would be needed and the banners of the faction would need to be rehung. Overall the castle seemed mostly unchanged from the time when James had served in it under the old King. It felt good to return, it was in this courtyard that James and many of the other crusaders had earned their knighthoods and tested their steel. The castle was to be under the control of Lord Axeman, though Yruma had formerly been the seat of the Acre Kings Curaw had since taken over. James had had a difficult decision to make in whether to relocate his court to the former seat. In the end  he decided that the northern city of Curaw had grown on him and he would not relocate. The Axeman had expressed much interest in reclaiming the castle, speaking of secret chambers he had had installed in the castle prior to the expulsion of the crusaders by the Dracul and Ravens in the previous war.

Upon taking control of the castle James called his men to the courtyard and spoke from the porch in front of the lords quarters. He spoke "Well fought my brothers, this was an extended siege but we have come forth victorious from the fray. Though the confederacy threatened our homes and the lives of our families and friends we have pulled through. This castle was held once in the name of our glorious kingdom and so it is again this day. Deus vult! This day we have reclaimed what was wrongfully taken from us what once belonged to Good King Reinhardt". The citizenry of Yruma met this with a mixed group of emotions. The populace was clearly scarred from the amount of fighting, all but 200 of the castles townsfolk had been killed or fled during the siege. The soldiers int he courtyard however let out a strong round of huzzahs and other cheers. Today was the day they had been fighting for since the start of the campaign, the fighting had been fierce at times and the victory had done wonders for the morale of the men.

The King then went on to speak with the individual commanders who had lead armies into battle in the campaign. There had been so many.

-Marshal Jedae had led the assault leading the vanguard in on 4th of the month initiating the siege in the middle of the night in a snowstorm.

-Delson had been next with the second siege, a battle that focused on the use of siege towers from the outside.

-Illuminati an allied FCC warrior had continued the assault after that with the 3rd wave in this battle mainly catapults were used.

-This was followed by his bannerman Burst. This time the castle was assaulted from multiple sides.

-Marshal Jedae then led in the 5th wave. By this point catapulting the walls down was decided to be the only feasible strategy.

-Lord Axeman led the 6th wave. Many defenders were killed.

-Brother Blue led the 7th wave. Many defenders were killed.

-Crusader Vryx led the 8th wave. Many defenders were killed.

-Knight Smals led the 9th wave. Many defenders were killed.

-Marshal Jedae led the 10th wave. This proved to be the most effective siege of the entire campaign. FCC forces were able to kill more than 1.2 enemy fighters for each allied soldier lost in the battle.

-Gamechanger led the 11th wave. At this point rumours of the traitors suing for peace had reached James. More of the defenders were killed.

-Lord Axeman led the capturing 12th assault and the remaining defenders in the castle were killed.

"Your service to me and to our cause has been noted. It takes a great deal of tactical skill and management skill in the field to successfully lead an army. Your performance in the faction's time of need has been exemplary. We now have a period of peace granted to us thanks to our ferocity in this most recent campaign. All of you fought well and deserve some R&R I expect the taverns, pubs, whorehouses, and whatever other doubtlessly unscrupulous places it is you all relax in to be full. I Know I will be enjoying myself this weekend" James spoke to his men.

He truly had no idea how long his men would have to relax. It had been a very tasking campaign he hoped the period of calm would persist. James had his squire Aurelius prepare his things to make with haste north to Curaw, he had little free time to waste and was glad the conflict for Yruma had come to an end as well as the greater FCC and Confederacy conflict. James felt aged by the conflict as he went to find Keshian who was already busy talking with other FCC commanders regarding the next important tasks. "Thank you kesh, you have greatly assisted us throughout our periods of need. I will never forget this service" James spoke. I must be on my way to Curaw now I have some important documents that need to be signed I will send a raven with more communications soon" He finished telling Kesh before setting off on his way.

What's with Acre becoming so popular? It seems like every new player or regular players wants to join Acre. I can say I do have an alt in the clan so I can bannerstack when the Knights of Saint Peter are not on. I was on last night and one team was full of Acre, some were new but mostly older members. I think y'all guys are great. Dang, last bannerstack with the hoplites was last year and there was like seven of us on siege.

I know some of the new players are drawn to us as we go out of our way to be a positive influence in the community. We also try to explain this overly complex game as much as possible and help people get through the brutal first 6 gens. I'ts been great lately having people throw on our banner to stack with us! Hope it keeps happening, the more the merrier.

A Return to a Desolate Land, an Era of Training, and the Capture of New Karindi

Since leaving Calradia the crusaders had had much time to hone their skills. On the ships crossing the narrow sea those who weren't sick from the sea made use of the ample time to practice swordplay, melee fighting, or a variety of other useful skills like whittling or fishing. Upon arrival across the sea the crusaders were taken aback by the strange sights they saw. There were Barbarian horselords leading hordes the likes of which the crusaders had never seen. They learned quickly that this was a harsh and barbaric land, something that would drive the Crusaders even harder to return to their homeland.  The leadership was however able to find several very competent fighters in the surrounding lands that were eager to fight in the name of chadz. It seemed the land across the sea was a mainly godless one.

Time passed and many of the men grew weary as the trip home was delayed. Some of the men were growing to fear that they would never be given the chance to return, but one day the first Acre scouting sloop returned bearing news of the clearing in Calradia. The mood in the camp immediately changed from a mixture of anxiety and confinement to one of pure zealous joy. The eyes of the Crusaders burned with desire to recapture the lands bravely held by good King Reinhardt. The entirety of the camp was then dismantled and loaded onto the ships. The journey home would take the crusaders near a month of sailing, a prospect that some of the less sea worthy Crusaders were not eagerly awaiting.

The journey back saw the men again forced into confined spaces with nothing to do but train. James had noted that many of the men had drastically improved their close quarters fighting while forced to train either on the deck of the ships or below deck. Upon arriving on the north eastern shores of Calradia the faction set course for New Karindi the first of their ancestors fiefs that they would retake.

New Karindi had since been inhabited by a group of natives. The natives fought fiercely and put up much more of a fight than James had initially expected. However eventually the Crusaders willed themselves through the natives and captured the town. That night a great feast was held in the center of the town and a celebration was had in memory of all those who came before the Crusaders standing today.

As the festivities raged and several of the Crusaders descended into inebriation James couldn't help but think that it felt good to be home. He stepped inside his quarters and prayed so as to thank the gods for the good fortune that had so far blessed his men. The Crusade ahead of them would be a long one but James had faith that the Gods would see his faction through.

Wrote this up in class today, though I might post it here and see what you guys think of it. (If you saw it on Groupme I edited and extended it.)

The night air was cold when Felix woke up, unusually so. He was used to it being cold, living in the tundra your whole life can have that effect, but the tension the Acre siege camp made it feel much colder. It was finally happening, they are at long last taking the next step toward the reconquering of the lands their ancestors so proudly held and lost to the horde of barbarians so long ago.
The first step had been taken only weeks ago, but was completed with swiftness. The three villages, New Slezkh, New Karindi, and Nova Tismir, were taken back, along with New Bhulaban and New Dirigh Aban via alternate means, with low casualties. Felix was only able to participate in the siege of New Karindi, but was informed of the other sieges. The lords of these villages were Marshal Reinhardt,New Slezkh, Lord Axeman,Nova Tismir,  Lord Blue, New Karindi,  King Harx of the Scottish Rebels, New Bhulaban, Lord myxbow of the Scottish Rebels, New Dirigh Aban. And until we can retake the fortified town of Curaw, the old captiol, Nova Slezkh Castle will be King James's.
Unable to go to sleep, Felix rose out of his cot and put on his armor, helmet, and picked up his heavy round shield and holstered his military cleaver. Then he left his tent to go relieve Hoodeh at the King's tent. As he walked he inspected the tents, each housing two soldiers and their full equipment. As he was passing through the noble's quarter of the camp, someone called his name and he turned around to see who it was.
"Ah, hello Reinhardt. Are you the one volunteering tonight?" Felix said as he bowed his head respectfully.
"Sure am." Reinhardt said, evidently proud.
"Very well."
"Why so formal Felix? You do remember we're friends, right? So no need to be so official with me."He said chuckling, remembering that this isn't the first time he's said this.
Felix laughed,"Yeah I know. Just a habit."
"Anyway, what brings this way?" He asked, still smiling.
"Couldn't sleep. Thought I might as well go and relieve Hoodeh or Hagleigh at James's tent."
"Yeah I thought so, after all, what else is there that you might be doing this way."
They walked in silence until they reaced the King's tent where they found Hoodeh and Hagleigh.
"Finally," Hoodeh said", I thought you guys would never show up!"
"Yeah we were almost getting worried." said Hagleigh.
"Sorry about that." Reinhardt said, "But we're here now and you boys can go get some sleep."
"Right. We'll be off then. Night to you both."
"Good night, and sleep well." Felix said.
After they had left, Felix sat of the stool that was positioned to the left of the entrance and Reinhardt sat on the one to the right. And until they were relieved they talked about the upcoming siege in hushed tones as not to wake the King.

The Origins of Lord Blue

Following the siege of New Slezkh castle, feasts lasted for days on end. Why wouldn’t we celebrate? We have taken the next step in reclaiming the land of our fathers. We honor the men that sacrificed themselves to reclaim the castle, in addition to rejoicing about the journey that lays ahead. But when the mead ran out, and the fires dimmed down, all that remained in the hall was Lord Blue and the King. Since the day Blue emerged from the forest surrounding the Acre encampment, not much has been know about him. Even to this day, not much is know despite him raising through the ranks. King James looked Blue into the eyes and said "My friend, throughout all of the battles and the sieges, you have yet to confide in me where you come from." Blue, pondering this statement for a while, responded "Maybe it is time for a story." Fetching a flagon of wine for himself and the king, he launches into the story that could change the opinion of the entire realm.

"Well as a child, I was a wuss. I was pampered by my mother and father into my early years. You see, we had a small farm on the outskirts of castle long since destroyed. Bandits rolled through the countryside terrorizing everyone in their way to the castle. My parents were in the middle of packing items to run away from the bandits when they arrived. 3 bandits kicked in our door, demanding that we pay or we would die. Knowing that either way they were going to slaughter us, my father drew his bastard sword. This sword was a gift from the local lord for saving his life from wolves after his horse had broken its leg and was a sword worthy of any knight. I was 7 years old and sort of resembled a pear so I was worthless in this fight. After a minute of desperate fighting he took a slash down his back. With a gasp and a trickle of blood rolling down his back, he fell to the floor, dead before he landed. With lightning speed, a bandit stabbed my shocked mother through the stomach in a show of gruesome force. While they were busy, I tried to run through the door, only to be snagged by the collar by the largest of the bandits. With a laugh he said "Where do you think your going boy?" Remember, at this time I was 7 years old and barely reached 3 and a half feet tall. Following the laughter of my futile escape attempt, I grabbed his dagger and stabbed him, and stabbed him again and again, I stabbed him more times then I dare to remember. In the confusion of their leader being killed, the 2 remaining bandits did not notice me running from house with my father's sword to steal the dead leader's horse and escape into the woods."

"For the next 15 years, I lived in those woods. It was a shocking change from the pampered life I lived and it almost led to my death on more then one occasion. For 3 days, I laid in the hole left from an uprooted tree mourning and whimpering about the death of not only my family, but my entire existence. I wish I could say it was a new sense of determination that led me to get up from that hole, but it was hunger. The next couple of years were time of change. I learned to hunt and to fish to survive. I learned to build shelters from the materials I could find. But most of all I learned to fight. Bands of bandits would roam throughout the forest that I would cross paths with. I gathered many wounds during these fights but I what I gained was the skills and will to be able to kill. When I emerged from those woods that faithful day, I was no longer the scared young child that witnessed the death of his parents, I was a 6 foot 4 battle hardened man with the only thing to my name is the bastard sword with a sapphire in the pommel."

James, after listening to the story, was lost in thought trying to figure out what was said. After a few minutes, the only thing he could say was "Well I need another drink." This drew a laugh from both of them and the two of them stayed up till the sunrise laughing and talking about things of no importance.

A stranger approaches...

Calmness was setting on the Acre encampment after their victorious siege. Blue and Reinhardt were watching over the soldiers as they were relaxing and having duels with each other. When Blue noticed some stranger walking up to the dueling arena. "Who is that?" Blue asked Reinhardt. "I am not sure, let's detain him." Reinhardt called his soldiers to attention and had them circle the intruder and ordered him to drop his weapons. The stranger sheathed his strange weapon and proceeded to push his way past the soldiers and walked to the center of the dueling circle, pulled out his weapon, and held it in a salute to initiate a duel.Reinhardt shocked by this strangers actions, and wanting to see how it goes, said, "You see his intentions, who wants to accept?" A Knight by the name of Felix stepped forward, saluted, and the duel began. The stranger gave Felix a mighty blow that knocked him over, Felix rolled away and cunningly gave the stranger a blow to the chest that made the stranger let out a gasp of air. Felix then kicked him down and put the training sword to his throat signaling victory. The stranger got up, bowed, and signaled for his next duel, maintaining his silence throughout this whole ordeal. After every duel, this stranger picked himself back up, signaled for the next duel, win or lose, he would not give up. After seeing this strangers actions, Reinhardt requested one of the Crusaders to go get King James and bring him here immediately. When King James arrived, he was filled in on all of the information about this new person in the camp.

King James observed his duels for a good hour and turned to Reinhardt and said, "Get your soldiers ready, I am going to confront him." Reinhardt bowed and rushed off, while Blue remained. After the stranger finished his current duel, King James shouted from the arena walls, "Stranger, why are you here? What are your intentions?" The stranger turned to James, pulled out his sword alerting all of the soldiers to drop their practice swords and attempt to detain this stranger they had just had many friendly duels with. The stranger stabbed his sword into the ground, got down on one knee, and muttered his first words in some ancient accent, "Because God wills it." King James turned to Blue nodding his approval of this new found stranger, Blue turned to look at the stranger and he was still on his knee looking at the ground. Blue turned to his King and said "I have plans for him." King James said, "Very well," turned to look at Reinhardt down below, and yelled, "Take him to a tent, get him fed, and get him out of that ancient armor and into our new plate armor." The stranger, understanding what was just said, turned to Reinhardt, handed bowed and presented his sword to him as a gesture of respect. Reinhardt accepted this gift and asked him, "What is your name?" The stranger looked at him and said in a low tone, "Westgate." Meanwhile, King James and Blue were walking back to the Kings tent when James asked Blue, "What are your plans with him?" Blue looking straight ahead said, "I had a dream, and he was there by my side as my squire, it must have been a sign." James responded, "Very well, do you trust him?" Blue nodded. James turned to enter his tent and said, "Do what you must, I trust you, don't make me regret this."

The Reclaiming of Nova Slezkh Castle

It had been a struggle to contain the levels of excitement brewing inside the Acre encampments. The villages of their forefathers had been retaken, homelands once worked by the glorious Kingdom of Acre had again been reclaimed and were once more bustling with production. The Tundra had not changed since James had known it. The beautiful white rolling snow covered hills brought back a fierce amount of memories. With both the fortresses of Nova Slezkh and New Yruma within a nights march of the camp the men were growing emotional. They knew the orders for the attack would come soon. A 1750 man force had been gathered and informed they would be moving within a fortnight. The men had been equipped with a devious selection of weaponry. There was no doubt they would overpower the nomads who had since taken the historic castle.

☩ ☩ ☩

Time passed and as a heavy fog rolled in the men became uneasy. As Brother Westgate was ordering the contingent of camp guards to double their watch and send out scouts to ensure the safety of the camped troops the horn of a rider was sounded. It was the scouting party of Lord Blue. Blue had been out scouting the castle to determine if the time was right. "My King the nomads are ill prepared and number significantly less than we initially expected. We are ready to commence the attack." Blue spoke swiftly. "Gods be good. We will march then on the hour" James replied. The Seargents were dispatched to their battalions and in no time the camp was on the move. Leading the vanguard were the renowned 13 Knights, recently vassalized into the Kingdom. In the command tent, as they completed the necessary strategic conversations and were preparing to don their armour, James spoke to Lord Bryggan of the 13 Knights "Here you are good friend, the chance at glory for which you long. Give them nothing and take from them everything. I have seen your victory in my dreams and know fully the butchery of which you are capable. Do us proud for the Gods alone will judge you and theirs is the just cause."

☩ ☩ ☩

With the castle in sight just barely through fog the men began unloading the equipment. It immediately became apparent some kind of mistake or dark magic was afoot. Near a third of the quipment the crusaders had packed when leaving the encampent was gone. "I WILL FIND OUT WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS GOD DAMN THEM TO HELL" James ranted, furious that his men would go into battle less than perfectly equipped. Thankfully James knew his planning for contingencies like this would see them through the battle, albeit with added losses. Luckily none of the siege equipment had disappeared and the catapult teams quickly went to work. They destroyed the targeted wall within 10 minutes of the first rocks being launched. Once Crusader Arquus who was bravely scouting up near to the walls gave the signal that the breach was cleared James ordered the assault and the vanguard led by Lord Bryggan made at full speed. The assault mainly poured into the courtyard but several battalions were also flanking either side of the castle with ladder teams. Losses were heavier than James had expected due to the supply mystery, he would have to ensure higher levels of security on the camp armouries from now on.

☩ ☩ ☩

As the battle wound down and all but a few quarters of the castle came under Crusader control King James returned to camp to meet with his Officers. Walking to speak with Bryggan who was drenched in a sickening amount of blood, James noticed Delson was being bandaged around the head by one of the silent sisters. "chadz! what has happened to you Delson" James said. "It was a shaft from Yumi. Filthy Godless nomad almost got me, but its just a flesh wound. Also I must stop wearing these pelt hoods. Stylish but perhaps less desirably effective." Delson replied. Just happy that his friend and master of coin hadn't been killed James patted Delson on the shoulder and went to speak with the Officers. "Today is the first step in a glorious Crusade. My Brothers today we were blooded together it was an honor to fight with you and those lost today will live on in the Kingdom of Heaven as heroes. Glory to the Gods and Glory to Acre!" James shouted zealously. With some more talk of strategy and coming battles the men retired exhausted by the siege. There would be more to come soon James thought to himself as he passed out on his bearskin furs spilling a cup of wine on a nearby maiden.

Reinhardt II's Return to His Fathers Title

Lord Reinhardt was deep asleep in the siege camp outside of Yruma castle when Crusader Westgate burst into his tent. Momentarily in a dream haze still dreaming of pirate infested seas in a far away corner of the world Reinhardt muttered “If you don’t suck on the limes your teeth will fall out you fucking idiots” before becoming aware of his surroundings. Allowing Reinhardt a moment to compose himself Westgate spoke “My Lord Blue has arrived sir with tidings of the siege, I will allow him to tell you himself. He is inspecting the horses and will be here momentarily. “Very good, I will meet him in the War tent” Reinhardt Replied.

☩ ☩ ☩

Upon entering the War tent Reinhardt was immediately able to ascertain that the battle had been a victory. The grin on Blue's face could have been a mile wide. “We’ve captured Slezkh my friend. The orders from the King are to move on Yruma with haste” Blue spoke. Honoured at the opportunity to retake his father’s title Reinhardt replied “Then it will be done, give the orders to commence the siege. Godspeed”.

☩ ☩ ☩

As the siege was nearing the stages of first assault Lord Reinhardt, Ranger Cameron, and Ranger Sellka found themselves sharing a pint of ale before the fight. Lest they never get the chance again. The three slammed their glasses on the table and a chorus of “Deus Vult” was echoed by the three. Cameron and Sellka had both fought Yruma as young men, now grizzled veterans returning home after a lifetime away. Reinhardt, named as Ronald in infancy, raised to the knightly name of Ulrich, and finally who had retaken the name of his father in Lordship, had not. This would be his first time entering the glorious Acre fortress that was so long the seat of his father. Words could not explain the emotions coursing through his veins. This was his reason for existing his cause, to bring glory to his father’s name, to the King, to the Gods.

“Thank you friends, you have stood at my side, supported me in regaining the glory of my name. I will never forget this.” Reinhardt spoke. To which Sellka replied “Your father fought bravely for decades for this faction. Any man of such a bloodline is nothing but a true holy crusader. I fought alongside him through hundreds of battles. Our friends were lost together, our battles won and lost together. He would be so proud to see you here today. It is an honor to fight with you”.  “Aye, couldn’t have said it better. Your father was a kind man to me, he taught me most of what I know. Also who else would let me keep all these penguins in their Castle. Too cute to let them die or get eaten by weirdos right?” Cameron replied. To which Reinhardt, with a serious but amused look on his face, said “…Yes Cameron. Well my brothers today we carry out our holy duty let the Gods give us strength!” and with that the trio moved to meet the rest of their brothers for the assault.

☩ ☩ ☩

With the battle started it became quickly evident that there was little opposition in the castle. Perhaps the nomads had somehow already gotten word of the fate of their brothers in the north. The decision was made to save the rocks and siege equipment for another day. The Castle would be assaulted by ladder. In the front ranks Reinhardt gave the command for the vanguard to attack head on. He then took a small group of knights flanking around the right of the Castle. Crusader Tanner flanked by Saint were first up the ladder. Tanner was first at the top of the ladder and swiftly put his spear into the faces of several nomads, causing some initial panic in the nomads immediately ranking behind the dead. Some of whom proceeded to stumbled backwards off the wall and to their deaths. Saint wielding the newly acquired Heavy Goedendag smashing people over the head jumped in behind Tanner. Reinhardt having flanked  around right was able to secure the right wall and good positioning for the ranged fighters. On the walls Sellka and Cameron began decimating the lightly armored nomads. From the castle courtyard you could hear someone yelling “pew pew pew pew pew”. The elite fighters supported by a core of Crusaders and an excellent complement of mercenaries soon controlled the walls. With the remaining nomads being shot down by Rangers, Genoese Crossbowmen, and mercenary archers/crossbows the remaining enemies were routed. The Siege was a success.

Reinhardts Final thoughts on the siege and conversation with officers/men COMING SOON….

An Epoch of Divine Enlistment

He was running, sprinting through the woods. Something was chasing him. A dark figure, as he looked back he could roughly make out its shape. The beast was tall maybe 7 feet, it walked not on human legs but on hoofs, the sounds was terrifying, not those of a man. Looking back again the fucking thing appeared to have horns. Gods help him what foul beast of the deep was this? Having been unable to find his horse it was a moment of time until the beast would catch up to him. James readied his sword hand as he prepared to turn and cut for beast’s throat. He had been raised knowing one day the satanic beasts of the underworld would come for him, he hadn’t expected it so soon.

As he heard the beast nearing to several meters behind him James spun quickly to his right holding a swing to his left and cutting at the creature’s throat. It was little to no use, the creature had a thick mane and James was unsure if he even drew blood. It was a demonic minotaur, unbelievable, it must have been 800 lbs. Blood dripping from its horns the beast had no doubt recently killed. Perhaps that is where James’ horse had gotten to he wondered. The Maester’s of Nova Curaw in his childhood had learned him of such beasts but it was accepted that they had disappeared from the realm a thousand years ago. Most claims of their sightings were attributed to lunatics and madmen.

After slashing for the beast’s throat it became enraged and smashed James clear off the path and into a tree on the edge of the forest. James heard and felt a few of his ribs give way. Why had he gone hunting alone in the forest, Reinhardt and the Bastard of Acre had both counselled him against boar hunting alone, would this be the last of King James? No he couldn’t die here, the gods had a mission for him, he had to fight. Pushing himself up with all his strength James was able to list his head and face the beast once more. Drawing his sword he figured he had one good lunge for the beast’s heart before it killed him.

Looking at the beast it appeared it was starting to glow of a gold light. “What magic is this, I will end you foul beast! TASTE OF MY BLADE!” James screamed as he lunged towards the beast. Just as his sword was about to pierce the skin of the beast and the beast’s claws were mere inches from the King’s head he was thrown back fifteen feet by an explosion of light like James had never before seen. Nearly blinded by the explosion James was barely able to see the figured of the Minotaur disintegrating through the power of the light. Yet he himself was still here and felt no pain his ribs feeling almost instantly healed.

When the light cleared all that stood there was the figure of a woman with holy glowing angelic wings behind here. “Who are you holy angel? You have saved me from this foul beast.” The King asked. The angel just stood there smiled. As James was wondering whether had already been killed by the minotaur he began drifting away slowly realizing that it had all been… A dream. Composing himself and readying to complete his day he prepared to head down to the training that would be taking place today.

☩ ☩ ☩

With a moment to relax after the successful sieges of both Nova Slezkh Castle and New Yruma sieges. James took to the courtyard to observe a training being administered by Lords Axeman and Blue. The Crusader trials had started for Westgate and Witchcraft, two promising new recruits. He could see that the aspiring Crusaders were already engaging the first tier of opponents. Sparks could be seen flying from the clashing swords, James knew he would be needed in the courtyard shortly and made his way down. The sheer number of recruits that had been showing up for enlistment was extraordinary.

Upon arrival in the courtyard a trumpet signaled the arrival of the King. The men stood at attention and the group of recruits that had been dueling each other with practice swords fell nervously into place. “Greetings lads, and lady” James spoke. Looking upon Witchcraft’s face, the King did a double-take and nearly had a heart attack. The face was that of the Angel in his dream. Dear god what kind of omen is this, a divine one for certain he thought to himself. Focussing back to the training he spoke “Today is a glorious day my friends. We are joined by several new Brothers.

Please welcome,
Seddrik of Acre ,Westgate of Acre, WITCHCRAFT of Acre, Zoarander of Acre , Austin Martin of Acre ,Braeden Sanguine of Acre ,Garner of Arce , Homicidicles Of Acre ,KotSA of Acre ,Bastard of Acre ,Zachary of Acre , and Rellik of Acre, who has rejoined our cause after decades of wandering the lands making way alone or in small mercenary bands.”

“The men and women you meet here today will be your brothers and sisters for eternity. Together we will uphold the cause of chadzianity and protect those who cannot protect themselves from the terrors that threaten this realm. That being said today we commence your combat training. The Quartermasters and Master Trainers will be operating the trainings and should any of you reach the point where yours skills merit a crusader trial it will be completed by The Pope, The Kings, The Lords, and the Knights. A series of nine duels, and based on performance you will or will not obtain the rank of Crusader.” The King outlined to the group. With that said the training resumed. The King went around observing the different fighters. Their progress was admirable.

He noted that Garner seemed to have a proficiency for wearing heavier armours, the lad must have been trained somewhere already. His movements were abnormally quick. Garner was dueling with KotSA one the new members of the Kingdom who had ventured across distant lands to reach us. The two seemed about equally matched in terms of fighting skill.

Over by the range Homicidicles was putting bolt after bolt into the centre of the target bales. “Quite the shot you are my friend, we will make much use of you on the castle ramparts.” James said as he patted the crossbowman on the shoulder and moved on.

Walking along the men training James stopped at a particularly heated engagement occurring between Master Trainer Saint and new recruit Austin Martin of Acre. Saint using a fire hardened training sword was deflecting the berserker like attacking of Austin, who at the time was using a short sword and no shield. “Austin you should try using this” James said as he grabbed a steel shield from the rack and tossed it over to Austin. “Smash him in the face with your shield and he will be staggered back, then you can swing or stab and catch him off balance” James continued.

Again moving along he came to a duel between Braeden and Westgate, the fight seemed very evenly matched. Interesting considering that Westgate was being trained initially as a Horseman. His ground fighting skills would serve him well should he ever be dismounted.

Farther down still The Bastard of Acre was wailing on Zachary. “chadz man you don’t need to kill this one. You must understand you are near twice his size. That being said Zachary you must make use of your quick footed abilities, ensure you parry before moving in, or at least block” James told the fighters.

Coming to the last group James began to hear Lord Haldrade speaking with Rellik “Your skills in combat are good, but one thing I have noticed especially is that you are skilled and able to be humble. This is a sign of great intelligence and will get you far in this land. The King adores humility and so it will help you advance in his court. It is also a sign that you may be suited for a diplomatic position. Having not noticed the King behind him Haldrade was momentarily starteled and said “Good gods how are you so quiet while wearing transitional armour, I should be able to hear you the moment you enter the courtyard”. “Haha, it is good to sneak up on you and hear you displaying my most important values” The King said while chuckling to himself.

Satisfied with the training that had been done under his watch James gave the word to Blue to have the men retire to the King’s Arms Tavern for a couple flagons of mead and some chicken.

The spirits of the dead still haunt me. After so many pacts made and finished, they have begun to linger. These nightmares haunt my somnolent and waking vision alike. No distance traveled will spirit me away from them. No bastion of stone is tall enough to keep them out. But now, I have found sanctuary. The faith of Acre's brotherhood shall ward off the wispy visions of my dark past. I shall teach the darkness to fear the light.

If you would like to join a clan where a full grown, fat man hangs out with 13 year old boys, this is the clan for you.

There's plenty of other clans that are halfway there. They just need the 13 year old boys.

The death of Felix
visitors can't see pics , please register or login

The sun was setting on Slezkh village when the doctor discovered his wound. Felix had been trying to hide it ever since the taking of Yruma Castle, thinking it was not a serious wound. He had managed to hide it well, excusing himself when it hurt and skipping out on his check-up every two days. When the doctor finally got frustrated after the second time, he did a surprise visit on Felix, and just as he entered Felix's office in the garrison, Felix had a nasty fit of coughing, opening the partially healed wound. Felix tried to wave the doctor off, but he wouldn't have it. After several painful minutes of coaxing, the doctor finally managed to get Felix into his bed. That's when he found it, the wound was two inches long and two inches deep. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do, Felix was dying. As soon as he learned this, Felix asked the doctor to summon his only child.

Felix's daughter, Echo, was a unique person. First off, her mother had been a beautiful noblewoman from the desert, and father a noble from the tundra. No one knows how they met only that the mother had died giving birth to Echo. It was said Felix named her after her mother, but when he was asked this, his face would show the pain of her loss and the subject was dropped. Secondly, Felix did not have her trained to be a lady-in-waiting. No, he had her trained in just about every form of fighting that was available since she was old enough to lift a sword. Because of this, her muscles, height, and tendency to where armor instead of dresses, not many men found her "desirable", though she did earn the respect of the garrison in Slezkh Village during several bandit raids. When she entered her father's chambers, she was startled to see him in his bed, and the doctor rummaging through his bag, obviously looking for something. Finally noticing her at his bedside, Felix looked up at her and smiled.
"Hello, Echo. Fine weather this afternoon."
"Father what's going on, why is Wallace here?"
"Well, it seems that the wound I took......in the siege of New Yruma Castle is much more.....serious than I originally thought." Felix struggled to say between his coughs.
"Please father, stop speaking. You need to conserve your strength."
"There isn't much.....hope for me now, Echo. Please fetch me a pen and paper and something to place it on."
When she got him the things he requested he started to write.
"What are you writing?" She said as she was studying him closely.
"An official decree that you are to inherit the village from me, and a letter."
"A letter for who?"
Felix looked up and saw her confused face.
"Why, the King of course."
When he finished, he rolled both sheets of paper and sealed them with his signet ring. After this he handed her both the letters and his ring.
"Travel to Nova Slezkh Castle and give them to King James. Because of my long service, he should acknowledge you and meet the request I made of him, but be prepared if he doesn't."
"What should I do, if he doesn't?" She asked, looking at the scrolls and ring.
"Prove yourself, your loyalty, and your skill. Don't fear anyone. And don't let anyone coax you into something you do not feel comfortable doing."
"I will do this for you, father." She clutched what he gave her to her chest, as if afraid they would be taken away from her.
"No. You must do this because you want to, not because I want it." He broke into a fit of coughing. When it subsided, he asked her, "Please, sit down." When she sat down he put a hand to her face and examined her. "You look so much like your mother. May the gods favor your sword, Echo, and may they fear my wrath if they do not."
With those last words, he succumbed to the wound that, at the moment, only her and Wallace knew of. The next day, Echo prepared for her journey to Slezkh Castle and to speak with the King, who no doubt already knew of Felix's death. After making sure she had everything she would need to travel, Jason, her father's steward, caught her attention. When she walked up to him to say her goodbye, he interrupted her.
"Echo, your father wished for you to have these." With a wave of his hands, several servants carried two chests to him. When he opened the first one, she immediately knew what it was.
"Are you sure, this was his."
"Yes, he wrote me a letter two days ago and told me to get it ready. As you can see the first chest is his armor. But in this other one is something he bought for you." He said this as he was opening the second chest. What he lifted out made Echo's eyes widen. It was a heavy crossbow that was used belong to someone in the family that is long since dead.
"Why? He knew I wasn't the best a using a crossbow. So, why give me this?"
"In the letter he sent me he expressed his desire for you to master something that he couldn't. He also told me that it would lessen the chance that you would die on the battlefield."
At this Echo sighed knowing her father meant well, but couldn't help being disappointed. Shrugging of the feeling of sadness that suddenly overcame her, she accepted the gifts. Instead of going to King James in a dress, or even a tunic, she decided that she would wear the armor that her father had given her and made the resolve that she would master the use of the crossbow, just as Felix wanted. She would honor her father to the fullest that she could.
Fortunately, the weather for the next several days was actually good for traveling. As soon as she reached the gates of Slezkh Castle, she was halted by the guard there. When she told him who she was, the guard let her in, apologizing, saying that he had not recognized her. When Echo reached the stables, a stablehand took her horse. As she was walking through the keep, she drew many a look from minor nobles and men-at-arms. It wasn't really a surprise, not many women chose the path of fighting over the leisurely life of a noblewoman.
When she reached the doors to the throne room, the guard stopped her.
"The King is in counsel with his lords. If you can wait, they will be done shortly, and I will inform him that you are here."
Instead of creating a big ruckus, Echo decided to wait. Two hours passed before the doors opened and the six lords walked out, each whispering to one another. Seeing this, the guard entered. When he came back out, he motioned to the still open doors.
"The King will see you know."
Echo entered the room cautiously. There in the middle of the room James stood over several maps of the tundra, obviously deep in thought. As she approached, he looked up to see who came in.
"I had heard...." James whispered, obviously shocked.
When she reached the table, Echo took out the two scrolls and the signet ring her father had given her. James looked at them and immediately knew what she was there for. He picked up the decree first and unsealed it. Then, after reading this he set it down and unsealed the letter. While reading this one though, his eyebrows furrowed. Finally, after reading this as well, he set it on the table.
"My, my." He said, shaking his head. "Your father sure asked a lot of me. Because Reinhardt entrusted the care of Slezkh Village to your family, I will allow you to inherit its titles. But what he asked of me in this letter....." He tapped the letter several times and shook his head and thought for several minutes.
"If I may ask, my King, what did my father ask of you?" Echo asked.
"Please, no need to be formal." He said. When Echo nodded, he continued, " He asked that you be accepted into the Royal Guard, which in its self I would agree to. But he also asked that I install you as the Captain, which I do not know if that would sit very well with the nobility. I cannot have unrest, especially not now, do you understand?" When she nodded, he frowned. "Speak. Please."
"I understand." She said. At this James nodded and the silence stretched for several minutes more.
"Because we were friends, I will accept his requests." He said finally, " I will also agree to his request for you being Captain, but you won't have full control until you've proven yourself, as your father had." He paused looking at Echo's face, looking for her reaction. When he did not see anything, he took his pen and a piece of paper and wrote a note on it. " Take this to the Quartermaster, Saint. He'll get a room for you so you can recover from your journey. Also,"He said as she was about to leave,"go to the royal gardens tomarrow so that I may inform you of your duties as the Captain of the Royal Guard."
When she left the room, she turned to the guard and asked where she could find the Quartermaster. As she walked through the keep, once again, people stared. She thought about why they would, not once had anyone in the village ever given her a second glance, much less stared at her. When she reached the office of the Quartermaster, she gave him the note the King had given her. After reading it he wrote another note and told her to go to the Lorimbagh Inn, in the castle town and to give the note to the innkeeper.
As she was walking to the inn, the same people were staring yet again. Echo puzzled over this right up until she entered the gardens, the next day, where James was sitting on a bench, waiting. As she was walking toward him he looked up.
"Do you wear your armor everywhere you go, Echo?" He asked, smiling.
Echo looked at him, confused. Then as if it suddenly dawned on her, she looked down surprised. "I, well, uh...." As she struggled to respond, James started laughing.
"It's quite alright. Your father did that as well. All he ever packed when we went on a campaign was a night shirt and his armor and weapons." He laughed at her surprised look. "Well, where did you think you learned that habit. Anyway, the reason I summoned you here today was to talk about your duties as Captain, not your father. That's for another day. Please, sit down." He motioned to the spot next to him. When she sat down, he leaned against the pine tree that was behind the bench. " Now, where to start."

A Stalwart Defence of Lord Xbow of the Scottish Rebels

The air hung heavy with an eerie feel as Lord Xbow of the Scottish Rebels returned from a trade run into the Order of Saints territory. He had seen a potentially hostile army in the region and was making for Dirigh Aban with maximum haste. Xbow couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. "Send forth a rider to Dirigh Aban with our fasted steed. The roguish bandit Krosis has been spotted in the area. He is in Acre lands and will face the full force of our trade laws should he attack us. Such behaviour will be met with fierce punishment. We will have need of reinforcements of troop and equipment." Xbow spoke to his scout leader Savage Roktal. Roktal responded quickly "Yes sir it will be done. Forbid a fool a thing and that he will do. I will have King Robert Bruce updated on the situation shortly." To which Xbow replied, "Godspeed my brother." Within minutes a beating of drums signaled that Roktal's scouting party was going ahead to warn of the potential attack.

Xbow had been right. Within a couple hours of dispatching Roktal torches and riders could be seen closing in on the trade party. Krosis must have ordered his men to double time, a costly mistake as once they were reinforced the Scottish Rebels would easily turn back the exhausted bandits. Knowing the party would not make Dirigh Aban in time to fortify properly Xbow ordered that the remaining troops dig trenches deploy spike walls and dig in for the assault. Robbie Burns had been commanded by Xbow to direct the fortification efforts, as well as to keep morale high among the now impending defenders. Speaking with the soldiers putting up fortification Robbie was happy to report high levels of morale and a near indecent amount of shit talking. Unable to contain his laughter at the things he was hearing Robbie spoke "Haha you fucking animals, keep that filth out of the ears of the lordship, I like your spirit however... I do myself expect to cut off the heads and shit down the throats of these bandits. That being said... please ensure the ladies of the court aren't exposed to yours and my twisted thinking.

Reinforcements had arrived just in time, King Robert Bruce himself rode to ensure the safety of his men. Upon arrival he was flanked by his two knewly knighted Kingsguards. They sounded the royal arrival as King Robert Bruce went to the war tent to meet with his Lords and Officers. "We've arrived with all the men and equipment needed. This will be a glorious day, let us make our ancestors proud let the forefathers of Scotland rejoice in this bloodbath." the King spoke. With a short tactical discussion had the men moved to prepare for the field battle. As the rogues were moving closer to the lines of the Scottish Rebels they began to see the fortifications and that they had not been able to attack an under-geared and unfair opponent, their disappointment was visible and perhaps even audible. Eager at the chance at blood and glory the Scottish Rebels could be seen with grins on their face, some even opting to not wear armor and fight naked as had their forefathers.

The enemy had superior terrain advantage and had taken up position on a cliff high above the Scottish Rebel fortifications. Luckily enough siege defences had been placed to protect the men from enemy ranged fighters. The Scottish Rebels had taken up position on the bank of a river, forcing the enemy to wade through chest deep water effectively negating their ability to dodge missiles and move quickly. The first 45 minutes of the battle consisted of allied ranged pelting the enemy with arrows and bolts. Several elite archers from the Kingdom of Acre had been in Dirigh Aban on a technology based mission educating the maesters of Dirigh Aban. Thankfully they had been present and able to ride with King Robert Bruce to the aid of Lord Xbow, their presence on the field accounted for hundreds of dead enemies alone. This was rather amazing considering the cliff the bandits were positioned on seemed to have some dark magic upon it blocking arrows and bolts in thin air.

Seeing the superior position of the enemy and having discussed battle plans with the other officers Xbow knew this was the time for the charge. Ladders were dropped across the river and the charge was ordered. Fiercely offended that someone would have the audacity to try and murder his men in their own territory Lord Xbow and King Robert Bruce could be seen charging into battle first cleaving limbs off left and right with their newly acquired Highland Claymores, shipped from their ancient homeland and sanctified with the blood of infidels.

Quickly the charge reached the hill where the enemy was positioned. The bandits were putting up much less of a fight than had been accounted for. With only a few remaining enemy archers shooting at the camp Xbow was able to surprise them as they were focused on the troops remaining to defend the archers on the friendly side of the river. "By the rightful Gods of Calradia you will know that we are the hand of justice when I lay the holy hammer of the Gods upon you" Xbow shouted as he kicked two of the archers off the cliff and spun quickly to clip the face of the third with his Claymore. With King Robert Bruce guarding his flank and cutting down the few remaining enemies routing the battle had been won.

The victory had been a good test of the Kingdom of Acre and Scottish rebel territorial policy as well as a strong blooding of many recruits. Xbow and Robert Bruce being exhausted from battle retired to their tents to feast upon chicken and ale a glorious victory it had been indeed.

The Reclamation of the Ancestral Seat of Kings

With the rest of the Kingdom secured from the nomads who had taken hold in it James set his eyes on the northern jewel of the Kingdom, Nova Curaw. The town was a formidable production force. James had lived it for a long period of time before the doom. His men approached it now, they were a few kilometers away. The attack would be made at nightfall.

As the order to attack was given 1700 men tasked with eliminating the captors of the town and securing it scaled the walls. Resistance was small and within a half hour the enemy commanders were rounded up and their forces dead or in chains. "The city is ours, you and your men are free to seek refuge elsewhere but you may not remain here." James spoke to the nomad commander. Looking back to Westgate James said "Have every house, shop, and keep in the village gutted, cleaned, and refurnished properly, I'll be taking up residence and garrison here shortly. With no other tasks immediately at hand James walked with his Kingsguard to the Throne room. He recognized it well from his childhoold and his earlier years, he was home.

[H]ello!

I am an artist/archer looking for work. I'm proud to say that I am moderately accomplished at artistry, while my sharpshooting skills are... Underwhelming, to say the least. I do, however, draw great profit through my portraits of great lords and rich soldiers (such as your king, James) that continue to fund my career as a professional soldier.
An example of my expertise is below:

If any of you would like, I can do a custom portrait for 10k each, with additional funding/offers generously accepted.

... Oh yeah, I can also do mercenary work if any of you so desire.

As a faction we are focused on NA but we recruit players from all over. For that reason I have changed the title. We take interest in what is going on in EU but are saddened by what the UIF has done. As a refuge we invite EU players to come to NA where they can be equally useful in a Strategus campaign that is more interesting!

At the end of this strat i want a tapestry made chronicaling the war between Acre and the British. Perhaps we can cut the infamous 'Siege of No Ladders' from it though... i'm sure noone would be interested in that being woven into history :S

I think it should be in the center of it.  Bunch of guys in red, standing in front of the wall, holding halves of coconuts.  Staring upwards... just... staring. Two guys standing atop it, looking down... perhaps throw in a debate on how coconuts got to England, and whether they migrate or get carried... and why on earth did the guys in red bring COCONUTS instead of ladders...

I don't know.  Good enough to be in a movie I think, so why not a tapestry?

Be wary of this faction; They have a known racist as a leader. They also create troll characters and purposefully dwindle down server populations.

That was a little part of it. You were mainly banned for what you were doing on your alt character. And this was after a ban thread was made...
People complained about your racist comments and about your random team wounding. I also witnessed all your trollish acts my self. Banned for two days.

King James abdicates the throne of the Crusader Kingdom of Acre to King Louis

The day had been coming for a long time. Since the moment James had been made King he had known that one of his dynasty would inherit the throne. He had chosen to allow the Princes amongst themselves with the leaders to decide the next King through a vote. The time was here. The council had been deliberating for months. The Princes had made their cases to lead, debates were had, strategy discussed and plans made. "That is it then, the final vote is cast", spoke Grand Prince Nathan accepting the ballot from Viceroy Axeman. The mood was tense, everyone in the councilroom knew the weight that rested on the next words to be said.

James stood and looking at each Prince before speaking said "It is Behemoth, henceforth known as Louis, once a bastard born, now legitimized King of the Crusaders of Acre, for now until the day where he is taken by chadz or abdicates through ancestral tradition".  With that James walked over to King Louis and withdrew from a case a shining pair of gilded hourglass gauntlets, "Your grandfather would be proud, no doubt he smiles on us this day, take his lordly gauntlets and with them you will crush the skulls of a thousand heretics, make him proud".

Next he walked to W0lf, henceforth known as Viceroy Benjamin, and to Marshal Joan "Your service to our faction has been exemplary, as a reward each of you will take a set of Masterwork Transitional Armour. Walking back to clap the new King on the back James said "May chadz guide your sword Louis. You have the task of shepherding this holy Kingdom through a new age.  May you be the light in the darkness, I have no doubt you will do great things." He then spoke to the group "The ceremony will be tonight and the halls will run red with wine. We all have a glorious road ahead, let us celebrate with the people". The new King exchanged some words with his brothers and then the group followed the Emeritus King and Viceroy out into the courtyard. As they neared the door the rumble from the crowd was extroardinary. For a people under siege the morale in durquba was certainly high. "LOUIS LOUIS LOUIS! Long Live the King! CHEAP WINE! DEUS VULT" were cries echoed across the desert that day. The city was alive with music and celebration as the royal procession mades its way to the throne. There King Louis was crowned to fanatic support alongside his proud brothers, knights, clansmen, and adoring plebians.

Returning to his chambers James felt the rush of the years come to him, he thought of the crusaders resting in Austria, those whose journey ended before his own. He felt he had done them justice and fought for them well. As he stood by the window of the keep James made peace with his time as King and as he looked out on the oasis he felt a weight lift from him. His course now was once again to serve the King. This would definitely increase his ability to Jamesnado.

☩☩☩

King James abdicates the throne to King Louis (Formerly Behemoth) and Viceroy Axeman abdicates to Viceroy Benjamin (Formerly W0lf), Axeman and James will still be playing but assume Emeritus positions and defer to the rule of Louis and Benjamin. It has been a god damn pleasure leading Acre. I could never have imagined how great the experience of leading this clan would be. I look forward to being a part of Acre under King Louis for years to come. LONG LIVE THE KING! LONG LIVE ACRE! DEUS VULT!

I could not be more proud to have fought alongside the men and women of this clan. We shared some truly epic campaigns. I congratulate every one of you who served past or present in the faction. We will be fighting as a group in OKAM, whether with the exact same RP or a slightly different RP we shall see and discuss as a group.

The Final Biography of the James Dynasty
A history of the exploits of King James I, King James II, and King James III in C-RPG and Strategus

James the First

One day as he was honing his JamesnadoTM he was approached by a nobleman bearing the crest of Acre, a Crusader Kingdom once based in the south of Strategus that was reforming its territories in the north close to the lands called home by James. The man's name was Reinhardt, he spoke of great victories and eternal glory to be attained through holy crusades in the name of chadz. Having himself been raised a strong member of the chadzian faith bloodlust in the name of chadz as well as gold and glory was enough to catch James' attention.

James had experienced quite a journey through this land to attain his current rank and position. He would never forget his northern roots and promised to his gods never to relinquish the lands he came to hold in the name of Acre so long as he may draw one more breath and purge one more infidel from the holy tundra.

---

The Tundra would be the final resting place of James the First of his name. He had been born and lived in the tundra, he had slain invaders in the thousands alongside his loyal knights, he had seen the faction into a period of unprecedented prosperity.  Expecting the doom to overtake Calradia as it had his ancestors he set out for a final glorious crusade. In the field he fought fiercely and without regard for his own life, knowing his heir had been spirited to safety with the strongest of the noble families. As is the customary way to deal with partial apocalypses.

James II

Initially returning to the land of his forefathers, the tundras of northern Calradia, James II reformed the Crusaders of Acre. Through fierce fighting along with his faction mates he defended the Tundra from several FCC vassals. Eventually following the blessed and inebriated Bryggan of 13K it was decided that the Crusader Kingdom of Acre would join the Holy chadzian Empire under Emperor Bryggan.

A time of great prosperity and trade simulating followed. The Holy chadzian Empire grew to be one of the greatest of all time. Encompassing lands all across Calradia the HCE eventually gained the focus of many enemies. What would ensue would be the great war of Strategus V. Fighting against The Republic of Squids, Lost Legion, Black Company, the Hounds of Chulainn, and hordes of retarded EU chocolate chip cookies, the Holy chadzian Empire was tested.

Massive sieges were fought in Nova Curaw and New Durquba. At the end of a fierce and stalwart defense Nova Curaw fell to the enemies after 10 waves of attacks. Having moved far away from the Tundra himself to the southern deserts of New Durquba James prepared to hold the city against endless attackers.

Siege after siege happened at new Durquba with each army being smashed on the walls and in the streets of new Durquba. In the end despite the death of Emperor Bryggan no army NA or EU could take the Holy chadzian Empire fortress and the graveyards outside new Durquba grew to house the more than 30 thousand dead enemies.

Fighting until the end of Strategus V James the II retired peacefully in the Oasis of Durquba surrounded by the most loyal and determined fighters the Kingdom had ever seen.

James III

James III fought brief but fierce wars against the Dwarves of Northern Calradia and roamed the land trading with the Holy chadzian Remnants faction under command of Marshal Gryphter of Acre until the end of times. Deus vult!

Grand Prince Mcsanders would like to thank his King(s), I have served under 4 great leaders throughout the Sixish years that i have been apart of Acre and do not regret my decision to become apart of this great and prestigious clan, You have all been a real joy to play with and it has been my pleasure to stand side by side with some of the greatest warriors and archers, Even that wizard guy (delson) It's been a blast to be apart of this and while is sad to see such a bit part of my gaming experience come to an end, While i am sure i will see you at some point in OKAM, may the great chadz Look after your divine souls and guide you into the eternal glory that will await you. so thank you for the opportunity to serve, But alas it's time for Mcsanders And Gertrude to say our goodbye.

King Reinhardt, You was the first king i served under, you showed me the code and honor that i stood by throughout my years of service, Thank you for your leadership,
King James, To my commonwealth brother from across the pond, Your tactics and wisdom has always been impressive, and im sure you shall lead us into the new age of Okam.
King Behemoth, While your Reign was short it has been an honor and a pleasure to serve by your side and in the front lines.
King Saint, The Champion of Acre, While i never bested you in a fair duel, it was always great to learn and play with you, I hope to see you dominating the battle field in OKAM in the future,
True Pope Bravo, Brother it has been an extreme honor to have played with you, I wish you all the best in the future.
Knightmare, While you used to be the Raging nerdgasm, you was a great guy..Good luck with your shitty games that you play,
Sellka, It has been an honor to have you watch my back with your arrows, and i wish you the best.

And to all the people i have not mention in acre and in the rest of the game, Even our enemies...Good luck And have fun!

Well shit...were do I even begin, I am not one for RP stories or hipster bullshit like that. I will keep it real and short. Reinhardt, nigga I watched you grow into a man, first king of acre and first king in my heart.  McSanders, brother where do I even start...back in the day, acre cav was a force on the battle field, we had cav for every thing, and the mighty McSanders Morningstar with the blood of countless enemies upon it. I will miss you dearly my friend but do not be a stranger, Even tho this shit is the internet many of us this is a way to an out. If you know what I mean, with out Acre and CRPG I would not have made it thru many nights. I had my demons that I now have come to terms with. McSanders you have always been there brother and in the Acre community Reinhardt and you hold a special place in my life. Last but not least is James...you crazy fucking canadian. I love you man, thank you for carrying the torch after Reinhardt left. You held this clan together when no one else could. Gave me a home to come back to and ride again. I will ride with you again in this next game yall play. For got to mention our favorite sniper archer, Selka will miss you too my friend. You and whats his face were the best archers in the game man. I hope I will see each and everyone of yall in the new game.  Everyone else....Suck my big black nutz.

Its finally the end, wow. I feel old siting here typing this out after playing with hundreds of CRPG players only really getting to know the lot in acre, such as Rein, James, MCsanders, Falcon, Vebb, Behemoth, Axeman, Bravo, Saint, Gryphter, Matthew, Echo,Cameron, Bruttus, Blue, Delson, Brenn, Dex, Courvix, Witchcraft, Trueshot, Ares, Haldrade, Miserable Old Bastard, Marcus, Vex, W0lf, Cassander, Tornkik, Knightmare and many others whom I knew from acre briefly and other clans. After all these years I've seen the clan Acre come and go as grass grows outside, its persistent nature and enduring through the many struggles the clan faced in crpg/strat. I set aside my bow for along time and I look forward to restringing it in of kings and men. I hope to see you all there aswell.. I need some target practice.

Your persistent bastard of an archer, Sellka.

LOL James. Did you show up for that battle? I'm calling it "The Accidental Village".

Besides canceling the battle, I couldn't seem to get a CRPG message to work, either. So I've messaged you here.  :)

James III

James III fought brief but fierce wars against the Dwarves of Northern Calradia and roamed the land trading with the Holy chadzian Remnants faction under command of Marshal Gryphter of Acre until the end of times. Deus vult!

Thought that I leaded the war against the Dwarves, before they trolled me out of the game?

I don't think I did anything actually I was just the guy that would drink in the castle, manage strategus operations and make/recycle memes. Yeah the last strategus was pretty terrible. The two previous to the last one were quite good though.

Hey guys we have two discords set up for Acre and for cRPG. Join them here:

Acre: https://discord.gg/Hn5SgBd

cRPG: https://discord.gg/gQ9z6hS

They are the best place to get updates on when we are bannerstacking and when NA 1 is populated.

We also still use our teamspeak when bannerstacking : ts3.thecrusadersofacre.com

and there is a NA cRPG steam group that is also used for updates: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/cRPGNorthAmerica
