Are the hitboxes still terrible (need to shoot someone 10 times point blank with a shotgun)?

Do the zombies still spaz out as they run making it nearly impossible to actually aim and shoot them cleanly?

Can you still not aim a weapon and move at the same time?

It's still arma 2 (yes :()

Still pretty fun though, managed to find a m240 with 200 rounds within 10mins. (Died straight away as I didn't look behind me -> super zombied.)

Ohhh this sounds good. Started playing dayz again recently. Are the servers busy? You play on first person only servers?

Considering BP for ARMA 2 is practically dead, might as well convert this thread to the ARMA 3 edition.

Here's some pictures from my session this evening:

Someone actually found a helicopter already.  :o

Found some serious firepower from the "barracks".

Still lots of hackers in the game?  Are zombie still ridiculous (zig-zagging all over the place)?  When you line up a shot while crouched, does it still seem like you didn't actually hit what you were shooting at?

The mod just came out few days ago, so I haven't encountered any hackers so far. Zombie behaviour is completely different in Arma III, they are also a lot slower.

does it still seem like you didn't actually hit what you were shooting at?

I have never noticed this.  :o

They completely migrated the mod from Arma 2 to Arma 3, so none of the stupid shit from Arma 2 is present, like the zigzagging, teleporting zombies. I didn't even see them hit through walls or anything. Due to Arma 3 Breaking Point is ways better than any Arma 2 DayZ mod, if you ask me. Even better than DayZ SA from what we've seen of it so far.

The mod is getting regular updates as well and considering the alpha just came out, this has the potential to be really amazing.

Played an hour or so tonight. If you spawn far from a town on Altis, you;re gunna starve to death (like I did). No food or water for over an hour checking every measly building!

It performs and looks a lot better than arma2 dayz for me. Zombies animations look better, you do feel like you've hit what you've hit (Hitting a zombie with a baseball bat and seeing it ragdoll instead of just drop is ace). A few bugs but for being days old, its really good.

Sorry I was referring to DAYZ on ARMA II, never played this on ARMA 3.  Sounds like (maybe besides hackers, but I can deal with that) from ARMA II to ARMA III have been fixed (the shot detection was retarded, so were the zombies in DAYZ on ARMA II).  Maybe I should check this out

New patch notes:

New: Custom Made gun sounds for Breaking Point by JSRS. (http://jsrs-studios.com/)
New: Player Spawn Point positions.
Fixed: Throwables not functioning correctly.
Fixed: Several Model files missing for certain guns causing crashes.
Fixed: Other tweaks and optimisations.

Fucking nice that they put in JSRS sounds, they're awesome. Full win on this decision.

I made a video before, I'll try to stick it up but there are others out there.

Ermmm. Ive played full 50 player servers for 3 hours now and the only person Ive bumped into was my friend (deliberately) for about 5 seconds before he died of hunger. Map is 270km square - with 50 ppl thats nearly 5.5 km per person average. It depends if you like the lonely survival game or you want the mental social/KoS interaction that chernarus offered. If you don't mind not seeing any other players for hours, or you have the patience to meet up with friends then yes (actually fuck it, Arma 3 wasteland is really good so get it for that anyway). Corner to on the altis map is like 24km+. Thats not quick on foot if thats where you and your chum happen to spawn. Run speed is 15km/h I think, take into account looting stuff (about 95% of building in arma3 are enterable so looting takes much longer, all buildings can offer something etc) to survive with, killing Z's etc thats probably at least about 2 hours of perfect navigation towards eachother.

Anyway to answer you question: I think so. Its a good game, and BP is interesting. Also I'm always happy to give money to developers who encourage/nurture/reward/embrace good modders and BI did that with Dayz/Dean Hall, even though he spent his signing up bonus on a trip to everest while the world waited (and is still waiting for) dayz standalone.

tl;dr - sure if you can spare the cash.

I find Arma 3 much better than Arma 2 and for this reason Breaking Point is also better for me than any Arma 2 DayZ mod. Getting in just for Breaking Point though, dunno. I actually like a lot of other multiplayer missions, some are really good and fun, but you have to give them a chance :)
Yeah NejStark, the map is absolutely huge, I think 100 player limit (or even a bit more) would be ideal for such a map. I still think there's a good chance to meet someone if you wander around the hospital in Kavala. I kind of like it myself that you don't meet someone every half an hour. Anyway, they also said they'll support Stratis in the future, for those that want a smaller map.
