The Rules

§1: Only on the EU 3 Duel Server.
§2: Best of three rounds.
§3: Only with the weapon types allowed in the category and sub-category.
§4: Elimination type tournament .
§4a: If an unequal number of participants sign up, three combatants will be grouped each playing three rounds against each other. Whomever with most wins will continue to next round.
§5: The four higest ranked players of each sub-category within each division will advance to the category battle.
§6: All fights are to the death.
§6a: A ranged combatant looses the round if he runs out of ammunition.
§6b: A cavalry combatant looses the round if he kills the enemy horse.
§7: All armors are allowed in all categories and sub-categories.
§8: All weapons are allowed within the weapon type specified by the sub-category.
§9: The combatants will agree on the date of their duel. A date will be set for each round where the duel must have taken place.
§9a: If a date cannot be found, and both participants can prove they shoved mutual obligation to find a date a random winner will be chosen unless a mutual agreement can be found. If one participant has shown significantly more will to fight, he shall be chosen as winner.
§10: A council to rule in disputes will be chosen.

The Sign-up

§1: You can sign up with a toon on as many categories and sub-categories as wished.
§2: You may sign up with as many alts as you wish except in the same sub-category as any of your other alts.
§2a: If you win or advance with several alts from several sub-categories you have to choose which alt to use. You cannot participate with several alts risking to face each other.
§2b: You may sign up in the same sub-category of another alt as long as it is in a different division.
§3: You are allowed to sign up in a tougher division if you believe you will be higher lvl at date of combat. lvl is at time of fight NOT time of subscription. Cheater shooo.
§4: The categories are:

Melee:
a) Two-handed weapons.
b) Polearms with optional shield
c) One-handed with optional shield

Ranged
d) Archery
e) Crossbows
f) Throwing

Cavalry:
g) Polearm with optional shield
h) Two-handed and One-handed with optional shield
i) Ranged with optional shield.

j) Free for all (completely free weapon choice)

k) Warband (5 vs 5. This mode be suspended until after patch)

§5: There are now only one division.

§6: Sign up by using the following formula

part 1 - Bye Bye Bitter
Tristan was exhausted leaning himself against the wall, battle-sweat pouring from his helmet almost covering his eyes. He took a hand wiping most of it away, but it just kept flowing. He felt dissy. The battle had been tough, one of the hardest yet and if not for the reinforcements from Fenada the assault on the castle would have failed, he was sure of that. How long he had been there he couldn't recall, but at some point his trusted servant Archy came with a bucket of water and threw it onto his face.

“Wake up. Fresh from the whale's way.”
“Bugger off, would you?!”
“Not really... Seems like you enjoyed yourself? Lets take a look at that head of yours. Off with the helmet.”
“You seem awfully fresh. Got nothing better to do than to pester me?”
“No. I need gold and a breaker of rings to pay me. If you take a sleep of swords you're no good to me. Besides we got some business to talk.”
“What now? My king might need me!”
“He's got enough men around him for now... follow me”

Archy helped his master to the swan-road where the glory of elves was amongst Ægir's daughters.

“Beautiful ain't it?”
“Don't get sentimental on me, you wanted to talk...”
“Well, while you were feeding the crows I've been talking with the others”
“You have?”
“Yes, you know Severon and Ylsa”
“I know them...”
“We thought: Why be servants? Why not be masters?”
“Let me get this straight, while we, today, have been carving a land in battle-dew, you want me to abandon a part of my own work? You think I've got no minds worth? Why this mistletoe on your tongue?”
“Look out there. You see them geese flying? And do you see that goose almost golden who can't follow the others. It's getting old. You're getting old, even today I expected you flame-farewelled. You're no slayer of giants or basher of trolls. Be realistic. What more would you not gain retiring and letting your men do the work? And then on top of that, giving Kraki's Seed to none but you?
We are a band. A band of brothers and we need no guidance but from you.”
“My mother, and her mother, and her mother again was a part of this tribe”
“Aye... But not your Grand-grand father Aemaelius... he was independent, so should you...”
“How many are we?”
“You, me and Severon, Ylsa some of their servants and a few new guys I found. And your Daughter Isolde should be ready for the spear-din soon? We're enough and we'll get an army. The men are skilled and ready for the weather of weapons. But this time not for them, this time Sif's hair be ours”
“So we break off”
“Aye, we leave tonight I've made some arrangements mid country where we can do business”.
“You planned this well you slimy valley-trout”
“I knew you'd accept.”

Part 2 - On the name Isolde

Tristan and Archy was headed towards the town of Amere, where Archy claimed he had made an agreement with the mercenaries, that they might establish their business there. They hadn't come far, before Tristan needed to heal his wounds after the siege of Chalbeck. They found an inn and Tristan went to his room to start unpacking his gear, when he found some notes scribbled on a piece of paper. It said “Bye Bye Bitter”.

“AAARCHY... get in here”
After a little while.
“what?”
“Did you write this crap?”
“what?”
“The glory of elves hidden behind the daugthers of Aegir. Are you serious? You stolen every mediocre trope there is in the whole norse medieval poetry!!!”
“ah, not really”
“This sucks and I forbid you to continue.”
“Sir... really?  I mean, ain't it great to be portrayed? Have your deeds written down for eternity to read?
“What deeds? That I sucked at the battle of Chalbeck?”
“It doesn't say that”
“It says I'm wounded and old... do you even know how old I am?”
“above 40”
“THATS NOT OLD”
“It is”
“It ain't... your father was far older when he retired”
“No he wasn't, he was exactly 40. And your mother and grandmother was far younger as well when they retired.”
“I can't retire... Not until I am 46 at least... And I am only 45... so... “
“yeah...So who is going to take over? Your daughter Isolde? I always thought it was a bad joke to give her, her mothers name.”
“It was not a joke, and the name is beautiful”
“It sounds like you're a pedophile.”
-Evil stare-
“Ok, any way, with this speed we will be in Amere in about half a year... we should go to bed and start early.”
"True. If you write any more I want to approve it"
"Sure..."
