It's kinda like that uncle stopped avoiding family gatherings as much as he could and started hosting them instead. It's usually like that with family members you get to know more, they get more and a more annoying as you see that they re-hash all their jokes etc. Not that Trump is an unfunny uncle once you get to know him but usually the case.
