Some things that can improve this tournament:

use challonge.com instead of mspaint and tinypic so the bracket can be updated live. 

don't make the finals be two ft3s.  it's super anticlimactic and dumb and literally no tournaments for anything do it.  either make it a straight up ft5+ or a ft5+ with a 1 round advantage for the upper bracket finalist.

Do you even know what a double elimination tournament is? That's how they all work (only if there is a bracket reset, mind you).

Do you know that plenty of tournaments for many different activities use double elimination variants where the the grand finals are single elimination (with and without winner's bracket point advantage) precisely because it's more exciting?  Not everything is Smash bros dude.
