I was going to listen to what you posted, but as a musician I was so offended that you used the terms "hip-hop" and "music" in the same sentance that I had to go microwave a puppy.

Yeah i too do not understand how ppl get to use those words in one sentence.

If u read the bolded area, you will find I never said it was.
Hip Hop is a sub-culture not a music genre

In it's best iterations, hip hop is a musical form of modern poetry. In it's worst, it's a bunch of idiots spouting poorly mashed together words (with recurring retarded themes, such as all women being whores and money as the only purpose in life) to sell them to other unsuspecting idiots. I don't know about sub-culture, you could say the same about metal or jazz or practically any other music genre.

I absolutely agree with your post in it's entirety.
As poetry I respect hip-hop/rap and such.  I admit that for all my metal, prog-metal, jazz and classical elitism that I enjoy the poetic stylings of guys like Atmosphere and such.
And I should be nice or polite to anyone.... why exactly?

i say its a subculture because what spawned in and from it was as follows;
Breakdancing
Beatboxing
Emceeing (rapping)
DJ'ing
and of course graffiti

these are big things in certain areas across the US and abroad.
Now to put it into perspective those music genres you mentioned came out in a time before mass communication tech and such, so one could argue that they never got the chance to form other (for a lack of a better word) things outside of isolated pockets A.E harlem rennisance.

No one said that hip hop is not a subculture. But it was pointed out that any music genre forms some subculture (mostly more music genres are involved in one subculture).

And hip hop is not a music because to make a music you need a musician. You can make a text for a song but it sounds like a poem when you dont sing. You need to use some instrument or your voice to make music. In hip hop people are rhyming and using samples to complete it. They very rarely make own music to their song these days. I know that first hip hop groups actualy made their own music...
