so at the beginning you will have counter at more than 3
cav is bumping at spawn many times because of a lot of infantry move direction changes (mostly because of that) but it'd not giving any damage (low speed)
and not only cav, many players are kicking who is not moving and blocking their way at spawn (and that is giving some damage)

A topic is about team damaging, not only bumping, most of kills/damaging are because of spammers that 'trying to help you' and hits you (and then an enemy can hit you again and kill)

As like topic maker said it should be punished by loosing gold and xp
we don't need any counters

:P I am the topic maker.

If cavalry can't be a little patient or careful with their team bumping, then they deserve to stack their first 3 counters at the beginning of the match.

Also, maybe... the more damage you do.. the more counters you get with the hit. So a kick or a horse bump will only give 1 counter... but a high damage arrow to the back or a full on horse trampling will give you 3 counters. Idk it's just a basic idea.. the details could be worked out.

I just wanted to suggest something overall that will punish team damage/bumping instead of team killing. I don't get team killed all that often and it's usually a really legitimate accident when I do. However, when someone team damages me, it's not always a legit accident. It's either carelessness... or even intentional.

I've had people follow me around and intentionally team damage me and get away with it simply because it doesn't register to everyone that they're trying to get me killed. Smart tkers don't kill their teammates outright.

Firstly, to you cavs (or archers for that matter) that are telling us infantry to respect you and stay out of your way:

If I'm fighting 1v1 and you come along simply to take the kill and you bump/shoot me in the back... then it's your fault, not mine for not avoiding you. It's not like I knew you were running full gallop up behind me to attempt to behead the person I was about to finish killing.

Reduce the chance of punishing accidents:

Every team hit gives you a counter, the counters decay over time

the first 3 counters don't effect you

every counter you get past 3 costs you more exp/gold (up to a certain max number of counters)

I was thinking about how frustrating it is when I'm killed by an enemy because a team cavalry bumps me or an allied archer shoots me in the back while I'm fighting... then the person has an opening to kill me.

I know that when you team kill someone you lose exp and gold... but I believe that there should be some punishment for team damaging.

Perhaps a system where you lose gold and maybe exp when you hit someone?

This will hopefully stop all the friendly horse bumping going on....

[.... awesome arguements...]

Another cocky college freshman who thinks hes a lot smarter than he actually is.

Smacking down teenagers is so fun

Very well put together. Idk if they're a cocky college freshman or just a troll though.

Though the original post was well put together there are clearly flaws. The plated charger is obviously over powered..

The new upkeep system will hopefully force all of the super gear into the hands of the few that own land. This is awesome. This will create a more realistic and diverse setting. It's what the game was meant to be, there will only be a few super troops running around in the game.... eventually :P

However, I think the plated charger and other warhorses are a bit TOO overpowered... even though they should be powerful enough impose great influence on the battle field..

plated chargers shouldn't be able to take 6+ stabs to the head... or 6 throwing axes + melee hits. It's insane... if they're gona do that.. they need to be super super expensive.. any only a very very few should be able to afford them lol..... people running around on these things with shields bumping everyone to death is retarded...

I don't want it increased to pin point accuracy. Just enough that you can use it effectively at short to medium range.

Is the OP of this thread a troll???

They're going around stating all these logical fallacies in people arguments: Ad hominem, non sequitur, ect..

meanwhile their arguments are plagued by the same fallacies.

"If your not arguing for realism, then theres no reason to believe a single pike should take down a plated charger. You are not superman."

Not arguing realism, ends with arguing realism.....

Cavalry aren't balanced. They don't require skill to play and they are incredibly effective. Horse bump is far too damaging and allows you to run over far to many units (including incredibly heavily armored units).. even with the lighter horses.

The cavalry need some nerf to the charge damage and the number of people they can charge through.

The plated charger needs a nerf to its armor and health.
I saw a plated charge with NINE fucking axes in it. That should easily be enough to kill a horse.

No item should be there just for RP lulz... It should be a valid item.

It'd be useful for stopping runners and killing lightly armored archers at short range because you can throw faster than them.

It's simply too inaccurate for what it is. Increase accuracy, get.

I like most of the changes, especially the cleaning up of the database synchronization with the server and such. I also love the new xp/gold system and the idea of having servers for low level players.

I like most of the ideas behind the balancing changes.

I don't like all the bugs with the servers that are currently occurring, obviously.

I also don't like the buff to horse speed/bump damage.... the bump needed a nerf, not a buff :/

Last but not least, I love you chadz (and everyone else that works on cRPG) for making this mod and continually working hard on it.

Oh... well then I'll have to see how the difference in wpf makes an effect. Thank you for the advice... hopefully it won't be a waste of points :P

Regardless, in my opinion, these should be the MOST accurate throwing weapons in the game. Simply due to balance (super low cut damage) and logic...

I don't know what anyone else feels about this... but I feel that the snowflakes and other shuriken should become more accurate with less PT. They do such low damage and it's cut damage at that, also they're very small projectiles. It's unreasonable to make them ineffective until you have around 6+ PT for them to be reliably accurate. By the time anyone reaches that much power throw, they're going to want to use something more useful. As such, I believe they should simply become reasonably accurate at around 4-5 PT.

What does everyone else think?
