Loving the "I'VE BEEN HIT!"
Proper geezer. Who did the voice?

They're all from the More Metal Sounds mod, I just made the ones I thought sounded best compatible with cRPG (and edited the bow/crossbow sounds to be a little less 'Xtreeeeeme')

The "I've been hit!" adds a whole new element to battles for me. Running into battle at the start and hearing someone next to me getting by arrow (to the knee) and screaming "I've been hit!" is hilarious and I'm now more aware of the onslaught of beginning volleys... Before I just didn't care.

Alright! Updated the sound pack to include horses now! This will probably be the last update since these are the sounds I found most crucial to change.

Hopefully Warham is up to the task of adding this as an auxiliary to the pack! Otherwise I'll just have to figure something else out 8-)

Here are some samples if you're curious!

One thing that was nice about them when I was running them though was the HORSE SOUNDS!  You could actually hear them coming as they sounded like big thundering warhorses and not a pony ride at the petting zoo.  So that would be a nice thing to add to this mod.

I was planning on adding those horse sounds tonight actually 8-) Might tone them down just a little bit though.

I only included the bow/crossbow/arrow/bolt sounds to this sound pack as I feel they 'sound the coolest' while not taking too much away from realism. I did replace the bow/crossbow release sounds with my own tweaked versions though as the original sounds were a bit much in-game.

I must say, with these new sounds, battles sound waaay more intense with headphones on!

Hopefully Warham can come up with a fix for those having issues but we might have to wait for a proper cRPG release for the new warband patch.

On a side note,
I've always been a bit turned off by the native bow/crossbow sounds. So I did some tinkering and modified the 'cinematic' sounds mod a bit and came up with this:

Final_boss bows/crossbows sound mod
Install is pretty straight forward,
- backup your sounds.txt file in the cRPG folder (just in case!)
- Put "sounds.txt" in your cRPG folder
- drop all the audio files into the cRPG/Sounds folder

Couple things:
- I've included the "I've been hit!" sounds when a player is hit by an arrow as well (only sometimes though) but horses will speak and women will sound like men.
- I haven't tested it fully yet but if you guys wanted to try it out and let me know if you like it or not, maybe we'd consider adding it as part of the heirloom pack? Just a thought!

One thing I've just now noticed, the scabbard on the long dagger has some kind of strap sticking out of it, but because of the placement of the model on the character, it doesn't actually hang from the belt.

A fix whenever you get the chance would be great.

good find thanks xolvern!

Not at all. It doesn't affect performance by more than 5%, I'm fairly certain of that. You did a very good job.

Very cool. Thanks Leshma. What kind of pc specs do you have?

Boss i hope you make it optional so that the people with crasy rigs like myself n you can get the most epic looking equipment

Dont tone down the graphics  :D

Make a pack for poor people with wooden pc´s an a pack for rich people with decent rigs

I'll always try to keep these models looking as sharp as possible. I'm fairly certain LODs are really only meant to help players using "low/medium" graphic settings anyways and those only shrink model sizes. There are only a few models that have some extra faces/vertices that don't need to be there (like some of the quivers) so no quality will be sacrificed  8-)

Love this so far...hope this does get put into the crpg install when completed (or even before)...

QUESTION : At its current state - does installing this pack drop fps in any noticeable amount?

In its current state, it might slow down performance a bit on lower end machines, though I'm not entirely sure by how much (or if at all). Currently I'm using a rig with x2 GTX 580s and haven't lost a frame 8-)

But once I make the LOD models and better optimize some of them it should help out those with performance issues

Totally missed this thread! Thanks for all your hard work LastKaze! I know how time consuming this is  8-)

It should be noted that these textures/models are bound to have tweaks at some point in time but I plan to revisit everything once it's all done.

The golden flower armor pictured before (by Vexus) is not what I have planned. Heirloomed armors will most likely have extra bags, jewlery, or stenciling added to each heirloom with as little gold as possible.

Thanks again LastKaze! I'll link this to the original post!

Crossbows look awesome, i think crossbows will go up in price )
Also i added alternative more dark textures for Final_Bosses work. You can check/uncheck it in insaller. It takes from me about 20 minutes in photoshop. Select color range -> desaturate ) I made it cause some players don't use this pack only cause they don't like bright colors and gold on weapons. It's only for test. If people will like idea with alternative textures and Final_Boss will not against it i will include it in next versions of installer.
Download Test Version with Crossbows

Yeah man that's cool.

The only thing I would do is turn it "off" as default so anyone who doesn't like the color can turn it on. The colors I use in my textures are meant to be more realistic and will be perfect with some later tweaking.

The brown colors in these textures are a bit too brown for my tastes and much harder to notice in-game heirlooms but I'm sure someone here will eat that shit up.

Thanks warham

What's at the end of march, besides GoT?

I disappear for months because of GoT.

No, I plan to have crossbows & bolts done by then.

Yea I browsed to my Steam folder where my game files are and used the cRPG mod folder for the install.  The install works fine with no errors it says.  But when I log into the game nothing is new.  Just seeing if there is anything else I can do.

Do you have any heirloomed weapons? I haven't finished armors yet.

The changes on each model are not drastic but should still be noticeable.

I dont wanna sound ungrateful cuz I really appreciate your work but could you take another look at the Mil Scythe textures? Like adding some nice engraving for the MW version on the blade? It looks a bit weird atm :)
Just some small eye-candy would be really awesome.

Anyway, thank you so much for all your work - including Warham ofc!

I'll most likely do some minor tweaks to weapons before jumping into armors. There have been quite a few requests for me to revisit certain models and that's totally understandable. I'll let you all know once those tweaks begin and which models I'll be working on  8-)

Final Boss, just a suggestion when you do get around to armor: don't change the armor textures themselves, just add jewelry/accessories like pouches, necklaces, belts, bracers, capes, etc (like all the cool stuff on the Byrnja). Categorize the armors into a few general groups, like European, Persian, Germanic, Russian, Asian, etc. Then just use the same accessories for all armors of each group, maybe with different colors to match the existing textures.

Otherwise, armors will take you over a year!

This is exactly what I'll be doing. coming up with three different high-res textures would absolutely kill the lower-end pc players anyways. But I'm glad you're already on board!

fyi, throwing has been sent over to warham, already started on crossbows/bolts.

Hopefully there aren't too many problems with throwing (didn't test all of them before sending them over) but we'll be able to try them all out soon!  8-)
