Beginner's Help and Guides / hierloom my 10 head armour or 35 leg armour?

my understanding of armour is that the reduction is exponential so low armour doesn't make nearly as much difference as high armour. this coupled with the fact that you take more damage to the head makes me wonder if hierlooming 10 head armour would ever actually save me me from death, even through generally speaking head armour is more important than leg. in this scenario im not sure which I would be better off heirlooming.
any opinions advice are welcome especially if they come with any number crunching!
