Not playing nearly as much, but I'm going to try to keep doing cRPG stuff, so yeah I should be around for a bit at least weekly.

(now I just need to find the blend of video settings & recording quality where video won't be choppy without making things utterly terrible looking)

Evidence appears obvious: timer on round is early, no enemies in sight, repeated teamwounds etc.

Bans on record: 7 (3 within the past year)

Since the game has been around so long I will ignore some of the earlier old bans and focus on the most recent ones when looking at my "ban template".  I'll treat this as ban #4, 36-60 hours.

I'll split the difference and give a 48 hour ban effective immediately.
Scheduled unban: 05.07.2014 20:25:00 (8:25 PM CST)

General Discussion / Re: Help cRPG grow!

I think we will see who the level crutchers are if they quit. It will definitely help newbies since the difference between high level vet and average player will be smaller. There will still be a big player skill gap, but  why do you need large character bonuses on top of that? If people just want to grind that can still be there

I don't think it's a good idea to encourage an already small population to grow any smaller.  It might help newbies face less competition, but it doesn't matter how appealing the servers are for newbies if no one else is playing.

Removing high level benefits would only have the potential of disrupting a bunch of players who are already established.  That's not really going to impact new players, only give us a chance of losing old players.

On topic: I don't see what the problem is with STF.  STF level 30 alts to test builds and be competitive are already in the game and are what I recommended to all of my friends when I was able to convince them to at least try cRPG.  Then if they enjoy the idea they won't feel as crummy starting a peasant, and then they can also switch to their level 30 from time to time to blow off steam (die slightly less often).

My next cRPG video I'm working on will be focused on beginners, so maybe they'll find it helpful when it's done.

In that video I had yet be blessed with Poseidons own Trident of Waves and Stuff. Thanks MrShine, I almost forgot about those fun times we all had.

If you ever land an arrow in my mustache I'll make a video consisting of nothing but my slow motion death. You have my word.

Alternating red white & blue text made me shed a freedom-tear.

Belgium totally deserved to win that game - we were getting shelled non-stop.  But yeah silver lining is Howard was absolutely incredible.  Could have been like 5-0 by the half.

i like the way how people upload the duels only when  they win

But..but...I died in the last duel!  That's 25% of the duels in that video!
(serious answer: I wanted to include the good long duels, and in many of those I ended up winning.  If I included all the duels where I made stupid mistakes and died within the first few attacks it would have made for a boring video.  By no means am I trying to say I'm better than the people I dueled though just because I won that particular duel - most of those guys have kicked my ass countless times)

mouse sensitivity over 9000 :D is it necessary for pulling off scary shit?
You should see some of the clips I cut where I'm looking around for cavalry - you'd probably get nauseous :D  Youtube was like "it seems like you had a shaky camera - can we smooth that out for you?".

His mouse sensitivity is normal, he's just always doing lines of cocaine between duels.
THE NOSEBLEEDS ARE HEREDITARY, WE'VE TALKED ABOUT THIS!!!!

TOP 10 TIPS ON HOW TO SURVIVE THE FIRST KNIGHT IN CRPG
(This video took me more time & effort than the other two cRPG videos combined, but I think it was worth it.  Hopefully you agree!)

Hey there.

I made a thread in Off Topic talking about a channel on youtube I was making.  Now that I actually made some cRPG videos I figured I could legitimately post something in General Discussion.  Behold!

If you like cheesy montages and videos edited with Windows Movie Maker, then look no further.  I, MrShine, can be your one-stop-shop for all things cRPG video related.  Simply check this thread roughly once a week (or subscribe on Youtube) and delight in questionably low quality cRPG goodness.

well I'll worry about that if I ever become a big youtube contributor...or even anything other than a tiny youtube contributor :D

In other news while I haven't put up a new cRPG video I have a few Dark Souls II videos which might be more up people's alley on these forums as opposed to the hearthstone ones.  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRnkGs8UJsOwZ3aghnWodzqFRUu9zAVNA

Let me know if they're boring or if you have any suggestions for how to make them better.

Also I'm going to shoot for putting up at least one cRPG video a week as my goal...so more should come soon but they take a long time to edit down.

Events & Tournaments / Re: NA Melee Duel Tournament
« on: June 25, 2014, 09:49:31 pm »
This post is going to come across as white-knighting (especially since I'm an admin) but making events like these successful is really a two-way street.  Obviously administrators need to do a good job organizing the event & getting things prepared/keeping channels of communication open & making it clear what participants are supposed to be doing and when they're supposed to be doing it...but the participants also have a responsibility to adhere to the scheduled times & make an effort to honor commitments.

It's not the coordinator's faults if a bunch of people said they'd duel, and then they don't show up or are late or don't follow the rules... and it's a pain in the ass for coordinators to constantly pester people to respond/participate/confirm details like they're some sort of internet nanny.

Both sides have a responsibility to uphold their end of the bargain if an event is going to be successful.

We will be delaying today's session by 1 hour due to the World Cup US vs Portugal match. We'll be starting at 20:00 (8PM) EST.

psh this is Amurica, you don't need to pretend that any of us will actually be watching the world cup :D
