Well no matter what you think it's still mighty cool of someone with that many fans/followers to review crowd funding content. Most definitely.

He had about 5200/6000 viewers when he was watching the MBG video. He stopped it when it came to the 'Team' segment but that was more because there were a lot of subs/donations which kinda interrupts the flow sometimes.

Overall it was good, he ranked us "Pretty cool" plus linked the KS in his chat and we had a small increase in pledges afterwards.
It's hard with Twitch sometimes due to how the chatting works, when there's thousands of people links and text disappears fast.

I had a lot of fun watching him review Kickstarters and so far I like his channel, dunno what anyone here can be salty about unless you actually didn't watch him and is just jumping to conclusions. If there's anything I too fast forward over it's "who is the team", because when you don't have merits the only thing you want to know is how does the game look and play, for all I personally care everyone on a development team could be peanut farmers and it wouldn't make a difference to me as long the game looks fun :D

That looks super fun! :D

Melee will also have a lot more stuff to do than simply just fighting, there'll be plenty of equipment, siege equipment etc, all sorts of fun to spice up the battle (think especially cool contraptions, people need to be able to defend themselves and their buildings).

Once we have the combat system more refined, we also want to introduce ways for two players to cooperate, think a bit 'Army of Two' if you ever played that on consoles :D actual ways for two people to team-play other than simply fighting.

What's not shown in the duel? There's feints in it, shown both with slow-mo and normally, plus it's explained in the actual text on KS and the YouTube description (+ audio, and in a way so that normal people can understand it). I quoted Wikipedia on feints in the description. That was good enough, at least that's what I felt. Yes feints could have been used more in the duel, sure, but I never thought anything was really missing from the duel except maybe more use of the various angles.

Also Thomek is just tired (and stressed :P excuse him), but yeah there was actually a lot of effort put into making this not a bland video, and as I explain in the vid we'll make more to talk about everything in full, I imagine like 5 minutes+ of talking and explaining everything.

We though can't make everything perfect, we're not a studio with tons of resources, we can't modify every thing we say and do to perfection, literally all of us are doing this (and have done) for 0 monetary gain so far while trying to manage our jobs on the side (which is pretty damn tough and very stressful, especially these days, so sorry in advance if anyone comes off as a bit salty!). We do screen-test with a small group, some from the community and others from outside who never played these types of games. I'll add a few more prying eyes for the next videos, see if we can cover everyone's concerns properly in the future.

#nohate pls :<

Is that you playing the controlled char, Nessaj?
If so, Tor vs Cooties is a cRPG old and gold. Shame that you couldn't give him a big axe

Chase = Duel POV
Tor = Duel challenger
Thomek = Camera (and generally making the whole video)

Damn! I wish I had some knowledge and skills in this matter. I simply googled some video-to-gif sites... I'll try something :)

Same, but I fell over this http://www.video-gif-converter.com/ :D worked well for the KS gifs.
Not so well here, but it's because the video I had for making the gif had lightning speed instead of the nice slow lots of frames speed you see in the YouTube video.

The ideal is to export a video into Photoshop, and then have photoshop make the GIF for you, but it's a tedious task and I end up using like 20/30 minutes on all these little things all the time which pushes the time schedule too far :(

If anyone can make a good 640x width gif showcasing that mouse input control part please post it here and I'll edit it into the big Kickstarter presentation!

Also any graphics peeps feel free to step up (send me a PM if you're interested) :P

Those are great! Didn't know about that site! Could you make one with 640 pixels width? Also it can't be bigger than 10mb (requirement).
Because we really need someone who could take care of graphics stuff like this on the team :D we don't have anyone with any sort of skills/knowledge to quickly fix good working gifs, good working icons/images and so on.

We're practically 2 guys doing everything in regards to the updates, and in order to post in a timely fashion (wanted combat out 3 days ago) stuff like will happen. I simply don't have the time to cover all angles.

@Nessaj: Can we get a list of people you have already adressed in any way? That can help us in return to see where we can don't need to and where we still should establish some kind of contact...

As it stands right now you should feel free to contact anything, the only people we have direct ties to is YouTubers/Twitch-streamers.

You shouldn't worry about if X/Y has been contacted, it doesn't matter if someone already sent a mail to a specific editor, youtuber, blogger and so on. How do you think effect is best acquired, that 1 person ever sends a mail, or that a bunch of people do so it actually leaves an impression of "hey this game got an active community that wants to help it out". What matters is that there's no spam (overall) or duplicate official mails coming from the development team - the latter we're tracking internally ourselves.

This means, don't use email templates they're a terrible impression. If you do decide to actually email something, post who you sent to in the Task Force forum, in the appropriate Language threads.

When we have the new 'big update' ready, everyone is getting a mail again, something we can push, something where everyone can actually join and play-test the game.

What we need right now is that people go out there and seek out where Melee already is and then keep those posts engaged, don't spam, don't be hostile, don't be annoying, and try to not use templates if possible (everyone likes things to be more personal) - answer people's questions or talk more about the game if the OP is lacking etc. The few places that this did happen, like at RockPaperShotgun, we actually saw a nice increase in pledges coming directly from that site, likewise for those who have done good effort on reddit.  Everyone who commented and kept those sites engaged you're awesome!

Make sure national level (anything not English) at least knows we exist. We have a ton of Subtitles now for the Kickstarter + Stronghold video, that should help.

If anyone has any specific questions feel free to send me a PM.

Just need more info on spears.

They'll be in there and they'll be awesome :P

We want spears to have the same sort of functionality a normal weapon has, not just be something you only stab with (as it seems for pretty much all games).

It's done for now! We have some things that needs to be fixed, but hopefully we can try again tomorrow or the day after!

This clip wasn't intended for mass sharing so keep it between us for now until we can make something really cool to show! :)

74
could this be streamed on twitch please ? i see many devs doing their code stuff on twitch , why not show your engine just to prove the game is real? (just clarifyy that it's a stress test and not a playable demo tho).
anyway gl , i'll be there spamming qqs.

When we know this works properly we can start doing something like that :) It would be extremely bad if we did this as a public thing and it all went to hell, with crashes, instability etc.

If it works tonight there's plenty of options afterwards for doing streaming events, and otherwise events.

Anyone who has a good capture card and can stream in full quality feel free to send me a PM though :P
