General Discussion / How do we repopulate NA siege?
« on: August 24, 2013, 07:10:18 pm »
Hey guys,

I am a big fan of siege, its pretty much the only game mode I enjoy but for awhile now NA siege hardly ever has more then 26 ppl in it at one time.  My question to the community is how do we bring back siege to the high population levels it used to enjoy.  Off the top of my head I would suggest a starting xp of 1.5 for siege.  What do you guys think?

Always better to be lucky than good
Personally, I make a horrid duelist. I'm a level 34; 24/15 mounted infantry build. I do well in battle not because I'm good at killing, but because I'm an opportunist.

I am the same way, many times I out K:D better players not become I am better but because I take advantages when I can.

General Discussion / Re: 1H+Shield is op.

I play 1h/shield, but I always wanted to be a 2h hero.

You asked how to abuse 2h, so I will pass on the advice given to me:

1. Never Stop Swinging
2. Block once, then chamber everyone else
3. Good footwork
3. Hiltslash

Of course all this takes practice.  I'm still working on mastering #1.  This might seem like a mild troll post (and the guy who gave me the advice may have been half-joking)...but really.  Once I "never stopped swinging" my k/d ration improved a lot.  Of course you block sometimes when you are obviously going to get nailed...but pretty much you just keep spamming.  Then practice chambering, and good footwork.

When I play 1h/shield its easy to get into a "you-swing then I-swing" rhythm.  When I tried that with 2h, it did not translate well.  With longer weapons and footwork, you can transcend this "taking turns" mentality and begin the true art of spam.

Lol, should be a sticky

General Discussion / Conquest or Siege ?
« on: March 23, 2013, 10:15:23 pm »
I am still hopeful that conquest will work out.  The only thing that bugs me about right now, besides the crashing problem, is that it does not pay well in xp or in gold.  Unless you go into a conquest map from a siege map with X2 or better you will most likely spend the next 30 minutes ridding on x1.  Which sucks.

Maybe give a multiplier for each flag taken for attackers and a multiplier based on time defended per flag for defenders?

Anyway what is your view, Siege or Conquest?

General Discussion / Conquest broken on NA

Hey Guys just so you know Conquest is broken on NA.  The defenders can't spawn and the flags do not cap.

General Discussion / Re: Best build and Class to learn Chambering.

Would chambering work against someone who feints allot?  So you try to chamber a feint knowing it is probably a faint, would the guy get hit before he can switch his feint to a real attack?

General Discussion / Best build and Class to learn Chambering.

Hey Guys,

While I got solid at this game there have always been 2 skills that I have never developed, kicking and chambering.  I am looking for the best class (2h, pole, 1 hand, whatever...) the best build and the best weapon to learn chambering.  Its a skill I always wanted to learn, but I always get caught up with just playing any suggestions?

General Discussion / Re: DTV shield bash
« on: March 10, 2013, 06:23:51 pm »
Yep.

It should have the same effect as getting hit by a horse, minus the damage. The more PS you have, and speed factors like normal, the more likely it is to make him drop down. Else it will just stumble him/stun him. Honestly, it would be a much needed buff to 1h+shield. I mean, the generally accepted strategy nowadays is to sheathe your shield in 1v1's because shield in non-group scenarios is actually a burden (slows you down too much). This is ahistorical, if anything.

I agree, 1v1 against a good player its actually better to put the shield away ( unless you are sporting high athletics) fighting with a shield makes you too easy to read,  totally reverse of history.

No way, shield bash was added

How do you do it?
