AC could become my one of the most favourite series. But game difficulty destroys it all. I cant even call it casual, its godmode. And devs dont want to give players option to choose difficulty level because of some stupid principle.

A lot of games have been ruined by easy modes," he said. "If you have a cover shooter and you switch it to easy and you don't have to use cover, you kind of broke your game.
Funny thing is, AC was this ruined kind of games. Almost perfect game destroyed for me because of difficulty. Why using stealth, why running away and having cool chase on roofs, why using all this badass assassin equipment if you can just...kill everything?

What will actually make me use parrys instead of blocks? After block I can successfully countrattack anyway, not matter how fast enemys weapon is. This small stun wont give me any real advantages.
As I see it you should nerf blocks somehow. There should be something that will punish people for being too passive, or we will still have
patience >skill situation.

At least give me the option to put the attack to a mouse movement, the mouse wheel thing is very awkward for me.
Imagine aoc player starts to play M&B, and then posts on the TW forum that he needs aoc controls option, because directional system is very akward for him.

Nice, but I cant see the sense. Another high risk no reward mechanic. This will make players to hold every their attack for 10 seconds even more.

If you really hate 1st person you can play in 3rd, but player with 1st has more advantages. It may sound strange right now, but dueling in 3rd person against 1st is like dueling in Warband in 1st person against 3rd.

- considering the fact i was not able to block a shit in m&b when it started and now i'm lets say average blocker since start i think blocking is really easy compared to m&b.
In M&B its very hard at first, but after some time its easy. After playing M&B for years I know that  nothing will breake my defence. Chivalry works different. Its easy when you fight against unskilled oponents. Just one button, you see the strike you block it. But swing can be executed in many different ways, taking swing angle, footwork and timing into consideration. Skilled player attacks in different ways, thats when blocking becomes harder.
Also blocks and swings are extremely precise. So precise that parry animation and size of the weapon actually matters while blocking.

Aiming with blocks becomes very tricky when your opponent moves alot and trys to bypass your parries. For blocking some of man-at-arms attacks you need godlike reflexes.

No unlocks are permanent. I unlocked everything and dont have such problems. Try joining spectators and then choosing class again, should help.

But the point is Warband has all of the above + more
No. All this things are important in noob fights but when you get to the point where everything can be blocked or chambered the fights are just ridiculous. When I duel in Chivalry I feel that all this things are important and can be used against my opponent in different ways. Do I feel the same in Warband? lol no. I can hit from different angles I can try to outreach my opponent get behind him but that wont make any difference. Block block block.

because this game is all about timing your attacks.
Its not only about timing. Its about footwork, different angles, reach, positioning, tactics, reflexes and sometimes even strategy.

Hit detection was strange at times, sometimes the guy who killed me didn't even have his weapon close to me, now I'm not sure if it was lag or just bad game
Chivalry has extremely precise hit detection, way more precise than M&B. So its definitely lag.

archery in this game is on Warband Native levels or even worse
Archers are powerfull but way weaker then in crpg or native, mostly because sprint speed is fast and allows you to reach archer in few seconds.

It looks like the skill ceiling isn't nearly as high as Warbands due to how the blocking/attacking/stamina works. Most of the time you're outnumbered (even if it's only 2v1) you're probably not going to come out alive.
If blocking is too easy for you, that means you just didnt met the right opponent. Skill ceiling is way higher then in warband. I had fun dueles in warband when I just started to play, then it slowly became worser and worser. Chivalry melee combat is way deeper than you may think, imo deeper then Warband melee. I can be mistaken of course, you need to see in what fights will turn after some time, when people will have some skill. I could write a wall of text about why M&B melee mechanics failed and Chivalry has way more potential, but I am lazy and and my english isnt perfect. It reminds me how some years ago new players left warband servers saying that this game is laggy, has no skill, its all about taking the longest weapon and spaming with it.
Though I would agree that Chivalry lacks variety. In warband you have cavalry, more weapon, more armor, more maps more more more...

What need to by changed a little is how spam can be effective, i get tons of kills when i was doing skillless spam and kill people left and right without even seeing them.
Majority of beta players never tryed similar games and you have 2000 warband hours.

think that combat system may be a bit deeper than people think.
It definitely is. Personaly for me Warband feels very spamy compare to Chivalry. By spamy I mean that you can attack and block almost at any moment, there is no any weight in youre actions. Footwork, timing and tactics becomes useless if your enemy knows how to block. In Chivalry however you need to be extremely accurate. Every wrong action you do is a chance for your enemy to strike. Combos, kicks/shieldbash, ducking under swings(EPIC) and sometimes jumping above, dodging, sprint attacks, feints. Of course some M&B players may not like it because its different, or because they believe that nice deep melee game cant exist without warband directional combat.
It's nice video but these guys are s-key heroes

Blocking does seem harder than in cRPG, probably because you need better timing.
It can be hard can be easy, depends how skilled your oponent is. Basically there are 3 ways to break oponents defence: by timing, hit around a block and draining stamina.
You cant hold your parry like in warband, it stays for like 2 seconds. That allows to do some tricks with timing, making strikes faster or slower by moving your mouse, but mostly with feints. Even with slow weapon good feint is almost unblockable. Not so effective against shields though. Unlike parrys you can hold youre block with shield as much as you want.
You can hit above a block with overhead, you can jump above a block with thrust, or you can try to hit aside. All this things require footwork and accuracy. To counter such strikes you need to aim with your blocks, move it towards enemys weapon, even if you are using  shield. Sometimes require good reflexes.
This is not implemented yet, but will be added soon. If your weapon is heavier, your oponent will lose extra stamina while blocking. So  for example if you are using 2H maul and your oponent has a 1H sword, you dont really even need to hit him directly. Just force him to block few times and you will have the advantage.
btw I like how archers are implemented here. Powerfull, slow, decent in melee but cant kite like in crpg. Also they have +50% backstab damage, so they are more like archer/rogue class.

Not easy to explain really. Sometimes its hard sometimes its not, mostly depends on enemys movement speed and weapon speed. Duel between two man-at-arms can be very fast, but dueling with greatswords will make blocking must of the time easy. tbh aiming blocks is easiest part of the game. Not ridiculously easy but not that hard. The hardest part is distancing, timing, footwork, dodging. All this things are way way way harder then in warband, and all fights finish in 5 seconds , no matter how armor is heavy or shield is huge. The longest duel I saw was like 10 seconds. If you will be too passive, a proper feint will 100% get you, if you are too passive with shield, you will lose all youre stamina = death. Needles to say I didnt had so much fun in M&B for years, especialy in cRPG with endless boring block fights.

On top of that there's that stamina system, I'm not sure how it works entirely but it seems that if you're outnumbered you're pretty much fucked even though you might be superior in skill.
Well I won 1v4 situation in my first day of playing. You can hit and block several targets at once so not a big problem. Stamina punishes you for being too passive (especially with shield) and for spaming with kicks/shieldbash and combos. You wont lose stamina for making a single strike or sprinting.
