Title: Chivalry has a free weekend

What it says on the tin.  So if your on the fence/bored download it and give it a try, who knows you might not even hate it that much.

Oh sweet, don't know how I missed it. This seems to be the only real way to demo a multiplayer-only game nowadays aside from giving people a cut-down version with probably empty servers.

I installed in & played it this weekend.  Honestly?  It seemed like a spam-fest.  While I thought it was intense and had a great "feel" to it, it simply lacked in the complexity that M&B/c-rpg has.  There were too many times where people would exchange hits at around the same time, and pull off swings after taking a hit.

A lot of flailing around.  Fun, but I'm quite happy with c-RPG thank you very much.

This is not random, though. Swings are only interrupted if you hit a foe during the ready animation, IIRC. Sure, as you mention, it encourages spam. One of the easiest ways to score high is simply triple-spamming the one handed warhammer as knight.
