Yes, PS does affect punching (and kicking) damage, iirc. Once saw Allers smack a dude in chainmail to death.  :mrgreen:

Don't think you'll be doing much damage with that build, though. Even I have trouble punching dudes down with 10 power strike.

That being the case, here's my modified build:

    * Strength: 25
    * Agility: 15
    * Hit points: 76
    * Skills to attributes: 10
    * Ironflesh: 8
    * Power Strike: 8
    * Athletics: 5
    * One Handed: 111

Enough ath for the rope-a-dope if you're careful. Good PS, good IF. 25STR for the extra 1HP. Spawn with a hatchet (good for shields), wear Heavy Gauntlets and mid range armour (need moveability).

With punching now almost a viable form of melee I'm testing out STF characters that rely on using Heavy Gauntlets to smack down peasants. So far I've come up with:

Level 30
    * Strength: 18
    * Agility: 24
    * Hit points: 65
    * Unused skill points: 3
    * Skills to attributes: 14
    * Ironflesh: 6
    * Athletics: 8
    * One Handed: 111

This allows plenty of agility to avoid incoming swings whilst darting in to strike. Enough STR to equip heavy gauntlets and do weight based damage. Does PS affect punch damage? I've deliberately excluded shield skills as if you're gonna punch then a shield is a cop out (chamber or GTFO).

Can anyone top this build? I've had success with my Ivan_Drago character (heavy gauntlets are a bitch on upkeep at 1100 or so).

I believe that's the default setting. It doesn't force the upload to 100mbit, just places that as an upper threshold. I agree that 10mbit is more betterer.

There needs to be rules against using siege equipment to block goals. Have a couple of siege shields and a few construction sites around a goal guarded by some tincans and it's pretty much impossible to score.

Gave this a go on the Aus server last night, had around 20 people focusing on proper play and it was amazing.

Scored a sweet as goal by doing a small kick just as an enemy hit me, then picking it back up to score. \o/

Need more dedicated rageball maps tbh, arena and battle on ice were getting old. Try playing it on treefort, multi level is fun!

I think you need to learn what the crossbows look like then. I was one shot by a MW Arb with MW steel bolts wearing unloomed Lamellar, leather gloves, and 7 IF. So there is no way you survived two hits with a MW Arb and MW steel bolts while naked.

The change to crossbow damage was a good thing. I've seen good crossbow players do really well, even with the change.

+1 to the Dev. team for this change.

nou, I never said I survived the second shot, hence the term 2-shot (as in it took 2 shots to kill me). I was 2/3 dead after first shot, pre patch I would have been dead with lamellar.

Xbow needs a buff. As a peasant with 4IF and naked I was 2-shot in the chest with MW arbalest using MW steel bolts from mid range. This should have definitey been a oneshot. Throwing needs a buff, my MW throwing daggers take twice as many to kill now. Archery can stay the same as point blank range archery is viable with enough athletics.
