Two weeks is pretty short for writing music, lyrics and recording it. Also, I'd write a song but I am drawing a blank for subjects, apart from some looms worshipping song, can anybody remind me of any cRPG sagas worthy of song?

What do you mean? :o

2 things happened.

1 - I 'm a High-pitch singer, and the song I chose is slightly to low.
2 - I can't sing too loudly over  here without disturbing my neighbors. Therefor the singing quality is less consistent then I'd like it to be.

Therefor to sing REALLY well, I need a song that's "my" pitch. And simply use a soundproof room so i can sing and use my whole "breath"

I am hoping to collaborate with some individuals much more talented than myself to get a song or two submitted. I would sing for you guys, but let's just say I think I should be given rewards to not submit anything, unless you wish to go deaf.  :lol:

I have seen a few people post that they don't have anyway to record. I have found that the voice-memo app on any smart phone does an alright job. It by no means can compare to having an actual microphone but if it is all you have then it works well enough.(There is a chance that the song Jona and I are working may have to be recorded on my phone)

A really good sounding alternative to pro equipment would be one of those zoom recorders. You can connect them via USB, they're not that expensive, they've got good mics and record stereo.

Most ppl in the video section use them if they want a quick but good recording of lets say an interview or some athmospheric sounds.

Well arguably I was only a couple hours late (Idk the time conversion exactly). But regardless the deadline was in the middle of the NA workday, so I couldn't do anything til I got home. And this was during a week where I had a lab due and that took all my free time, after being away for all of last week. I haven't been in contact with Hungry much at all over the past couple weeks, but when we last spoke he was going to try and get a better quality recording done in the meantime. Hence, we were waiting til the last few days to submit it instead of submitting it a couple weeks ago. He has been real busy and wasn't able to get to the studio to record it, so I just submitted what I had. Sure I could have submitted it two weeks ago, but the hope was to get a better quality recording in, potentially with some sound editing, back up vocals, etc.

How come nobody is voting for Grytviken? His song is what really captures what cRPG is these days, and expresses it in a very artistic form. It may seem drab and repetitive, but that is what he is going for, dull lyrics that repeat to symbolize what cRPG has become - a dull drab boring game that is repetitive. Every time the verse repeats, it is like I am really playing DTV, spamming up swing behind a shield wall, rinse repeat.

Can nobody see the absolute brilliance behind this track? Or is everyone blinded by heavy metal and flashing vocals?

My opinion (not that it matters) but I listened to all the songs. Fin, obviously is the best, but that's to be expected.

Second place goes to Grytviken because this

Oh yeah, we were well aware of that fact. This was Hungry's first (and only) full recording though where he just worked through the whole thing real slow. The plan was to find a way to cut it down/speed it up/spice it up, but well, life happened. Half the problem was that we both are fond of long(er) songs and didn't feel that 5 mins was too much.

Nor am I, actually. I am a fan of some good zeppelin, though. And imo most of their better songs are around 6-8mins.

Sorry for necroing this as my friend did, but just wanted to say that me too had an idea of submitting the song for this contest, right before FIN came in and smashed everyone with his one, so making anything since then turned into a zero-sense task. Still this is what I had before I shut it down (it had to be named "cRPG is gay" and was dancing around how gay everything in mod is... but never really went into writing an actual lyrics):

No, I never really got into the lyrics for this, since straight after this melody came to me, Fin posted his song and I was like, okay competition is over and threw it away
