General Discussion / What's wrong with Archery After patch??

After last patch ppl are whining a lot about ranged. I want to say about bows

They are giving a lot of different reasons why ranged is stronger than before patch, but mostly they are wrong.

Dmg is actualy reduced or at same lvl as before, same with accuracy.

All I noticed is just too high missile speed. That's why ranged are hitting more than before, nothing else.
now arrows and bolts are flying a way too flat and fast IMO, almost like bullets from rifles.
Missile speed from before patch were ok, there were no need to increase it more, and if not as much as devs did it.

Maybe devs should think about reducing a bit missile speed and it gonna be ok.


A bit less missile speed, a lot less tears in c-rpg world :)

I will dissapoint few ppl, but it's not removing archery from game.  8-)

Thing that need to be repair/increased is distance from wich animation of drawed bow is interrupted.
ATM as an archer you can litelary put a bow in someones face/shield and shoot.

Bodkin Arrows
weapon length: 93 <--- that should be a minimal distance  from wich you can shoot (even a bit higher because arrow needs space to accelerate).

I hope devs already noticed this problem and they made a solution for it and they are waiting for patch to repair that (and maybe broke something else :wink:).

While cleaning my room i got an idea :idea:

What about to make a formula for stun chance related to target's STR combined with IF and dmg recived and maybe total hp?

If you will take a IF an STR as modifiers you can do something like that:

Stun rezistance chance= [Hp-(Hp-dmg/Hp)]+[(STR+IF*1.5)/100] 

Where first square brackets is dmg recived and next one is modifier you have from combo of your str and if. Keeping that in 0.XX will be easy to use in othet things if needed, easy to change into %.

1.5 number is a number showing how much IF is worth looking for stun possibility

Only thing you will need to set are levels of stun you can set in table or in easy if... then formula :)

Sorry, i'm not a programmer, but i think this idea could be nice.

I'm not even a item ballancing advise club, but maybe you will have a look at my idea ;)

It could be funny to see in this game a full plate full str guys like butan that are running aroud and laughting because arrows are thickling him but not stunning (at least those from weaker bows) :twisted:

Suggestions Corner / Getting points for destroying shields.

Last days I noticed that there are plenty shielders around. Lot of times they are dying after you destroy their shield.

It would be nice to get some points for destroying shields (like 1/2 or 1/3 of points for hitting enemies).
It will show that you are actually usefull for your team and at least reward a bit ppl who fight against shielders whole round, destroying their shields, but not making a single hit on enemy, because you died to them or just your teammates came at the end just to stole your kill.

What do you think about it?

General Discussion / Should we remove pin point accuracy from bows?

I think pin point accuracy is a problem with tiny bows. Noone should have such good aim .

Getting pin-point accuracy with nomad or tatar bow isn't a problem, but IMO it should be impossible.

Below I posted screenshots while aiming with bows.
Every bow I used is MW, I have 6 PD and 198 wpf in archery (dedicated archer 18/27 lvl 35)
horn bow

As you can see non of those bows have pin point accuracy.
IMO max accuracy should be the one like on horn bow.
X-bows max accuracy is capped so why we shouldn't we have same thing in bows?

Why I'm for removing pin point accuracy?
1. There's no man at earth that can shoot tons of arrows in exactly same point. Body is getting tired and hands are shaking.
2. There are hardly ever perfect weather conditions allowing to make thing from point 1.

Admins can call this accuracy cap "wind factor" os something like that.

General Discussion / Pin-point accuracy with tatar and nomad bows.

All I want to say is:

Nomad and tatar bow are too accurate, ranged shouldn't have a pin-point accuracy.

Even modern sniper rifles have some deviations in "where i aim-where i hit", so why archers in c-rpg should have that? X-bows already have capped accuracy (asaik) and IMO it should be done same to those two bows i mentioned (i were using all bows amd onl whith those 2 i had pin-point accuracy)

Rest of bows are fine IMO (for ppl who don't know i have 198 WPF in archery) pin-point accuracy is only for nomad and tatar bows.

I also wouldn't mind if accuracy for all bows will be lowered a tiny bit, but devs probably won't do anything with that.

This is not a rage topic, i would like to see at least a shadow of realism while using bows by removing problem i mentioned.

IMO it would be nice if your banner (especially clan one) will be changed to random one if you are not fighting under your real name.

What do you think about it?
