Strategus General Discussion / Suggestion for next strat

I think there is a way to take away some power from big blocks and make some room for smaller factions, and make a gameplay much more strategic in process. Most likely it have been suggested before but lets see.

Lets take our current roster in siege attack/defence. Make it so that only 50% of the people can join such fight from anywhere on the map, the other 50% must be physically near the location of where that siege takes place. Open field battles could have the 25% for all people, and 75% for people close by.

With the follow function the micro managmend shouldnt be that hard. But what it would do is making large factions vulnrable to small local forces, as they would show up with bigger rosters.

This would also give a chance to many people to fight big battles. As of now in a big battles you see the same faces all the time, as they are picked over some other players.

So how hard would it be to implement such a code to strategus ? Is it even possible ?

Strategus General Discussion / Strat blacksmith workshop (suggestion)

Give fiefs an option to build a blacksmith workshop using PP. It would enable repairing items for some amount of gold. Only items used in battle could be repaired, giving them +2. If item would be used in two battles earning -4 to its stats, repair would only take last battle into account giving it +2 back.

I think this should be too hard for devs to implement, if there would be a way to flag items that were used in battles.

Just to check if there is enough willing to participate archers (and xbowmen), if the number is high enough i might turn this topic into a tournament for the most loved off all classes!

it could take place on Ranged Arena on that map

some basic rules ? (any ideas for something else ?)
1. You win by either killing enemy team or by running to the opposite team box (blue / red )
2. Archers and Xbowmen allowed ?
3. You need to spawn with weapon and armor

If you are an archer or xbowman that would like to take part in such tournament post it here so we can have the idea how many people would like to join it.

Suggestions Corner / [Strategus] sleep window

Dont know if it was suggested before but how about increasing "sleep window" from 8 hours to 16 hours ? It prevents battles during the time you sleep and are at work/school. Would love to see that as i think the majority of the people would like to have battles they can attend to. Weekends could be like they are now.

Suggestions Corner / Duels - separate class rankings

Right now we have overall ranking, player vs player, but if it would be possible maybe adding separate class rankings would be good idea ?

cav vs cav, inf vs inf, archers vs archers

when one player kills other, game checks if both of them were mounted, if so it consider it a cav duel.
if both players had equiped bows its archery/ranged duel
if both were dismounted and and equiped with melee weapon its inf duel

Suggestions Corner / Change to siderunning and backpedalling

Hi,

I would like to make a suggestion on removing siderunning aka strafing and instead putting a small jump to the side, after which you would be able to jump again for like 0.5sec (lenght would be up for balance testing). That would deal with the silly running in circles during duels, which is pretty unrealistic and i think duels should be all about blocking and attacking guy in front of you, fighting face to face not face to ass... fighting a duracell type of player that wants to get on your rear while you look like a 90 yo dude... IRL siderunning looks silly also just look do you think medieval fight looked like that ?

The change to backpeddaling would be to decrease its speed for about 20-30% so its not that easy to get out of the reach and or as with siderunning also a small jump to the back.

Age of Pirates had system like that and looked much more realistic (outside of fighting dead zombie pirates) than the circling around that have its place in cRPG.

its the end of the round 8 vs 2 gk's one on horse one on foot, situation seems kind of hopeless so the on horse is giving the horse to the one on foot Hentzi the horse archer with almost full quiver

it turns 8vs1 soon and Hentzi starts to shoot them its 2:30 to the end, and rage on the chat begins in the next 30 seconds Hentzi kills 3 guys, while on chat he is called delayer and stuff like he cant win

finally the Bandit_Vagabond is making a poll to kick him, after he saw it he dismounted to avoid kick

now i think that if the poll wasnt there he might win as he is good horse archer with skills to do it

also i wouldnt make this kick request if couple of maps later i didnt see how bandits went ankwardly silent to the fact that the last guy in their team Renay, was hiding with a crossbow on a side of the hill, and eventually made a draw as nobody could find him except for one guy that got killed by him

fun fact: Renay was also saying Hentzi was delaying just to pull some shit like he did later

Due to lack of intrest, the Ranged event is canceled, in its place the STF 1vs1 melee event will take place. The place melee Arena.

1vs1 STF tournament
Participants make a STF char with the equip worth of 10,217 gold (default starting gold, after selling crap), if the more expensive gear will be spotted it will mean DQ
Participants make STF with names provided by me, so that no one knows who they are fighting against, name will be revealed after the tournament
Single or Double elimination bracket based on the number of participants
Fights up until semi finals are best of one
Semi finals are best of three
Finals are best of five

Rules (in arena):
- Two men enters one man leaves
- No picking up weapons/shields

Rules (global):
- Dont act like a tard
- Dont kill fellow spectators or participants
- Everybody starts as spectators (without horse and weapon), unless told otherwise
- Ground level in the map is reserved for the participants, and people handling the tournament
- If any spectator go to ground level kick/ban without warning will occur
- When team will be called to get ready, they need to go to waiting tent (either red or blue, told by admin) in time up to 3 minutes
