The 2 slot Yumi was nice as it is as stong as the regular Bow but can be used on horseback. I don't want to see Smurf_Niluk with MW-Yumi and 55 MW bodkin arrows again!

(I use the Yumi, and i find it a bit OP for a 1 slot bow)

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Mounted Xbow build

I'd say max out Athletics and riding instead of IF. That way you can steal every horse once yours is dead, and you can use armored horses => your horse will die less to ranged and you can deal damage to unaware lightly armored archers. And for extra damage, you can put the leftover IF into horse-archery to reduce the mounted ranged damage penalty (2% more damage per HA skill).

Edit:

You can also have a Dragoon build. A pure foot crossbowman build, but with 0, 2 or 4 riding skill, and use mule/sumpter/rouncey.
But it is more of an infantry support than "following cavalry" build because of your low speed.

Edit2: A masterwork light crossbow and steel bolts are a big advantage, +7 damage.

Make an annoying and hard to counter class not require skill, I.E. all the noobs would play it and do good damage while you're defenseless. If anything could kill this mod completely, that would be it.

Good raw damage, but good luck trying to hit your target because of the very low accuracy as it was proposed.

I am one of those casual players. The only times i use the starter looms, i wreck shit. And get fucked otherwise. I can see how a fully loomed gear can make all the older players so good. I say older and not better on purpose. +10 armor, +3 damage, and higher attack speed, and eventually level 36-37.

Beginner's Help and Guides / Re: Roman Legionary

For late imperial roman infantry, i use nordic sword and round shield and any thrown weapon, and some spear if I have a spare slot. Armor is Rus Helmet, Byrnja, and leather boots or eastern shoes.

Sorry i haven't found many images to illustrate :

Running from a peasant dagger wielding player that you know can probably kill you in your full plate.

Suggestions Corner / Re: FLAGS
« on: July 08, 2015, 02:50:27 pm »
Flags are necessary to prevent delayers, troll agi and ranged that don't go to melee. One thing that could be done is to make flags appear after a longer time when server pop is high, maybe?

General Discussion / Re: The Rules of Cavalry
« on: July 05, 2015, 01:21:53 pm »
You missed a whole section. How to behave around cavalry :

1: Horses have a limited acceleration and turn radius. Try no to get in the way of friendly horsemen, they can't always avoid you.

2: When fighting an enemy, don't get in the way of the friendly cav that is trying to help you. It can only lead to teamhits and friendly bumps.
-2.1: Be aware of your surroundings, friendly cavs are here to support you in the fight and change the tides of the battle, not steal your kill and valor.

3: As infantry, you should try playing as cav at least once. All these problems come from ingnorance about cavalry.

4: "Anyone not on a horse is a peasant."

Suggestions Corner / Re: 1 Slot heraldic shield.
« on: July 04, 2015, 03:40:16 pm »
I don't understand. You mean new heraldic shields with 0 shield-skill requirement right? Because all shields except some of the heaviest ones are one slot. Instead I'd suggest adding a new heraldic/colored practice shield.

Suggestions Corner / Re: Make the angle for HA smaller
« on: July 03, 2015, 03:23:44 pm »
HA is quite balanced as it is. It was OP and almost impossible to counter before.

Not sure if it is possible, but maybe widen the angle with each point of Horse Archery up to a max of 5 or so, which would resemble the current angle?

That way people with no Horse Archery would basically only be allowed to shoot with a lancer's angle of attack, while someone proficient at Horse Archery can shoot 180° back

That's an intereting idea. But the base angle should be at about 80° or 90° to the left, the natural position when using a bow on horseback.
