General Discussion / Re: pls bring the NA servers back up

Your ideals of freedom and democracy were born in Greece, and then got developped by a lot of europeans philosophers, it ain't yours therefore. Even your genes are Europeans, I always laugh when I see cut scenes from Fox News trying to demonstrate how Germany/France/Great Britain/any other european country is shit cuz not America, whereas their fucking ancestors were europeans.
Well looks like someone can't take lighthearted jokes from fellow Americans

Since I'm clanless and not a competetive player, I don't really know what I'll do with the clan name that came with the 300$ pledge.

Maybe I'll create an adventurer's guild (neutral clan) for people's alts and casual players who wish to remain anonymous.

What to do with that custom animation though.. anyone's got any ideas ?

Gotta love these types of threads, it reminds me how much I loved cRPG's community

You missed one hell of a three week period where DTV was an XP fest. (I believe it was earlier this year?)

All the maps were basically narrow tunnels, and all you had to do was get about 5 people to block the bots with a shield wall and bash away for max XP every round.
The XP rivaled even the biggest strat battles of the time.

rip dtv xp machine
That reminds me of the older version of DTV. It was pretty much "Defend the Village Ruins", all they needed was one steel shielder and two 2H/Poles to derp through the whole thing

1v1 u at SWTOR fgt. My lvl 55 Sith Juggernaut will smash ur face in
Despite my lack of high awareness and lightning reflexes required to be a good player in this game, I actually managed to be a S1 All-Star in SWTOR on my commando healer!

That just says how much emphasis there is on player skills in cRPG and less thereof in generic brand MMO.

Have we another NA siege bro, here? Well, well... I better go and add you to the list... of 8.
Noone seems to be participating in Siege Beta mode whereas there are at least 10+ in DTV during NA prime time. I miss the good ol' zerging in siege.

+1

Yeah ignore grumbs, he's a average melee player who hates range so much he has to say they're OP/Easy to play in 99% of the threads he posts in.

You're still yet to prove to me grumbs that ranged are OP and easy to play.
Friends, my intention of starting this thread is to see a comprehensive list of what has changed not just for me, but for other returning players, as well.

Grumbs may have certain subjective views on the changes, but he did provide a good list of information that may have taken us returning players a good while of digging through the patch notes.

I'm not surprised when people lobby for their favorite playstyle, but let us at least be respectful and courteous of others' opinions regardless of their ability in-game.

Oh and they fucked the ever loving shit out of dtv by replacing the villager with the innocent virgin, then fucking the virgin by replacing her with that piece-of-shit-little-dick-wanker valdemar, and added conquest, another game mode that is basically capture point that sometimes appears on siege

And it seems a lot of the maps suck nowadays
Quite the dire news, as DTV was one of my favorite modes (being the PvE casual hero that I am) and I don't think siege is, at all, populated even during prime times for NA.

I can only hope the revival patch will prove to be the incentive of players returning/joining cRPG.

Thanks for the comprehensive list of changes as well as your insights, everyone.

I suppose the changes applied to melee (shield/polearm bash and nudge) only increase the skill caps further. After a few matches in battle, I still can't differentiate whether the game is more balanced or not since I'm not a good player to begin with. I'll just take you guys' word for it being more balanced than before, lol.

Too bad, indeed, that plated donkey chargers are naught but a fantasy.

There were voices in 2011? Anyway, you are talking about 3 years of development, a lot has happened, and I mean a lot.
I think it was either late 2011 or early 2012 when male characters had decent voices whereas female characters had terrible quality voices.

I suppose I'll just have to play and (get killed) experience the changes first-hand.

Hail, friends,

Ever since the release of SWTOR in 2011, it has been three long years since I last braced the field and get myself killed even when dressed in full plate riding on my champion plated charger.

I have tried to read the patch notes, though it is perhaps easier if I simply ask the community what the major changes were. From what I've read so far, archers seem to have received some nerfs. If someone can summarize what has drastically changed, I'd be most grateful.

I've been enjoying the new voices so far, they have far better quality than they were before.

Cheers Mate,
Gearhardt

Never heard of Gatekeeper, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of mods were made to be BG:EE compatible.
GateKeeper (for BGI, or Shadow Keeper for BGII) is a save game editor that allows you to, as it states, edit the saved game files.

Sadly I tried to use it on BG:EE to no avail, perhaps I'm doing something wrong, might need to do some research to either get it to work or find alternatives.

Only got a level 2 engineer, but can't they deploy healing turrets?
From my understanding so far, I can spec my guardian or engineer into support class. But even with the 'healing spells' offered, those will not be sufficient in many situations, they provide certain timely support, but ultimately it depends on players' self-heals in fights rather than others keeping you up.

Sure, there are support classes (Which are fun, no doubt), but sometimes I'd like to be specialized more in a way. (And eventually grow into my character)

I love playing my medic in SW:TOR (Whether in Cantina casual RP, Open World PVP/RP, PVP WZs, PVE Operations, Flashpoints, or dailies...), but I don't feel the same way when I'm playing my support Guardian in GW2. Something's lacking, and I cannot put my fingers onto that.

1 week and 4 patches later, I'm starting to really like this. And they're still working on it.
There are still bugs, but they're fixing them in an amazing pace and the big gamebreaking ones have been dealt with. Very pleased with how they responded with the criticism.

And sadly, this is one of the best RPGs released in a while. Still.
Agreed.

Only thing I'd like to get my hands on would be a working Gatekeeper for the BG:EE, I just wanna change my Fighter dual Thief PC to Male Thief paperdoll, them hoods are too cool!

I've only played GW2 for a couple of hours, but for some reason, I soon quitted the game and went back to SW:TOR.

At least it's twice the amount of button smashing in SW:TOR and a fictional universe that I'm actually interested in.

The lack of dedicated healer class in GW2 is probably another reason that killed it for me.

... and am a full time ERP'er...
Oh Lordy Lord!

Archers out run 90% of the pop.. It's not just me they kite...
This is when you should start riding a Plated Charger, my friend.

Nothing more menacing and enjoyable when you charge into a group of archers/xbowers to disrupt their aims while supporting and tanking for your team.
