Suggestions Corner / Re: Make hits effect "player stats" temporarily

i would rather have the negative effects for the rest of the round. but then i loved action-quake and action-halflife...

you could help this idea by a more detailed description, rather then commenting all the "no".

That is where you're wrong. They are not a good addition to the game and are completely useless to me. I wish I could permanently QMV. Now I just press QMV whenever I get bothered by it. Which is quite often.

I think that, generally speaking, having the possibility to warn your teammates without typing is better than not having the possibility. Imho it just needs a little fix.

Voicespam is usually a pretty good way to get peoples attention when they dont read chat.

I really don't think so. When the chat is full of green text from the voicespam, i can hardly make out anything other written. Also, annoyed with half of the screen being covered by a textwall, many people change the font size to a smaller than default one.

EDIT: Saying "incoming ... from behind" once or twice by one or two people is good for alerting, but having that other guy around spamming "I am defending my dick" all the time isn't. So how exactly would a cooldown hinder you from alerting your team?

It has been suggested before but it hasn't gathered much attention: We have to do something against the voicespamming.
It is so utterly annoying that sometimes I would rather walk away from a critical strategic location than to stay and listen to the imbecile morons spamming "HOLD!" or even something unrelated... Muting a player doesn't help it. Muting the voices entirely wouldn't be the right way to go, as they are a good addition to the game.
So, let's gather ideas on how to stop this spamming.

I think a cooldown of 5 seconds would be sufficient.
Is this possible to code?

What are your other ideas?

Edit: Fixed typos

You have my attention. But I wouldn't lead a faction.

Since this morning I get this, when trying to visit c-rpg.net:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 110 in /var/www/crpg/webcrpg/class/class_db.php on line 56
Whoopsie

Exactly the same here since the last past patch.
Maybe it has something to do with all the new (great!) helmets and armor?

While I certainly love the way, how all the big sites (wiki, google, wordpress and so on) gather attention and anonymous does their part, I think what the author of xkcd said about it last year is still true:

don't like any kinds of patriotism, but the idea with the heart is neat.
