:D In that case, my beef with you is over.  However, I pray that anybody that gives me negative karma gets a hundred in return.

Elephant Archery was amazing, later they added Muskets and Cannons as the technology increased...virtually making Elephant Tanks.  :)

Regarding the big bang theory, it is in The Holy Qur'an, it talks about other worlds and aliens as well.  A really good website to learn more would be www.harunyahya.com

Gnjus, what is your problem?  Speaking of 'forum trolls', not only are you one but your picture looks like one.  You make posts as if anybody asked for your opinion.  Your intense hatred of Muslims is obvious by your posts and the number of times you put negative marks on my karma.  The hate will eat you up and drain you of any humanity.  That is where that sarcasm and psychotic trolling comes from.  All you do on every post is the same exact thing.  I think I may take every one of your posts and turn it into a blog and then you can read about yourself all day long.

General Discussion / Re: Jobs, Gold and Repair
« on: June 29, 2011, 03:53:20 am »
I am neither a stay at home father or a teenager, so I don't have the time to always gather the gold, plus why do they have armor if we should always be running around like peasants.  Once you buy the item, there should be no repair.  I stopped playing WOW because of the same kind of time consuming concepts.  Warband was fun because you didn't have to do all the waiting.  That is why lately I have switched back to Native most of the time and Fire and Sword.

Even if everybody had plate, which I don't like anyway due to weight issues, you can still have a lot of challenge based on your stats and weight ratio...and GOD FORBID...SKILL! :)

I see 2h agi whores running around swinging faster than 1h all the time.  Basically with the current system, only 2h agi whores and pikes have the game.  Out of every round you see 80% 2h agi and pikes and the rest are archers.

Forget skills and balanced characters that have more than one or two weapons.  A typical warrior regardless of nation could wield a dagger, sword, bow/crossbow, arrows/bolts, and spear/lance that they would carry on their persons.

BTW for all the Islamophobes out there that keep giving me negative karma points, it only shows your sense of inferiority and fear.  For a game like Warband that was made by Turks...it's ironic to find that you have tried to set up the game in order to reflect Euro-Centric fantasies of 2h, Pike, and Crossbow heaven.  Maybe the makers of the game itself will come out with an official CRPG game that has less limitations and more fun.

I just finished my consulting for one of America's biggest companies onsite, flying back and forth weekly and staying at the hotel, so I typically play on the week nights or weekends.  The rest of the time I am travelling or with my girl.  Until there is something better, we have to do with crpg and it's 2h agi spamfest I guess.

General Discussion / Jobs, Gold and Repair

Unless you don't have a job and spend 24 hours a day on crpg, it takes a long time to make enough gold to buy, maintain, and use any equipment.  Either the Gold has to be more or the Repair costs less (or if at all, considering that we are already buying the items).  Why is there realism in money/repair when there is no realism in the use of two handed weapons with insane agility? It would be much nicer if we could actually use any armor etc we wanted after we buy it, considering it does not take weeks/months to make enough to buy it.  For professionals such as myself, I work 11 hours a day in consulting and I don't have the time to make gold for weeks and maintain.  It takes the fun out of the game and is only beneficial for teenagers who don't have jobs.  There we go with my 2 cents, or should I say 2k gold!

Ottoman Mameluke Sword

A Mameluke sword is a cross-hilted, curved, scimitar-like sword historically derived from sabres used by Mamluk warriors of Mamluk Egypt from whom the sword derives its name. It is related to the shamshir,[1] which had its origins in Persia from where the style migrated to India, Egypt and North Africa[2] and the Turkish kilij. It was adopted in the 19th century by several Western militaries, including the French Army, British Army and the United States Marine Corps. Although some genuine Ottoman sabres were used by Westerners, most "mameluke sabres" were manufactured in Europe or America; their hilts were very similar in form to the Ottoman prototype, but their blades tended to be longer, narrower and less curved than those of the true kilij, while being wider and also less curved than the Persian shamshir. In short, the hilt retained its original shape and the blade tended to resemble the blade-form typical of contemporary Western military sabres. The Mameluke sword remains the ceremonial side arm for some units to this day.

United States Marine Corps

Today's U.S. Marine Corps officers' Mameluke sword closely resembles those first worn in 1826.
Marine Corps history states that a sword of this type was presented to Marine First Lieutenant Presley O'Bannon by the Ottoman Empire viceroy, Prince Hamet, on December 8, 1805, during the First Barbary War, as a gesture of respect and praise for the Marines' actions at the Battle of Derne.[3] Upon his return to the United States, the state of Virginia presented him with a silver-hilted sword featuring an eaglehead hilt and a curved blade modeled after the original Mameluke sword given him by Hamet. Its blade is inscribed with his name and a commemoration of the Battle of Tripoli Harbor.[4]
Perhaps due to the Marines' distinguished record during this campaign, including the capture of the Tripolitan city of Derna after a long and dangerous desert march, Marine Corps Commandant Archibald Henderson adopted the Mameluke sword in 1825 for wear by Marine officers. After initial distribution in 1826, Mameluke swords have been worn except for the years 1859-75 (when Marine officers were required to wear the U.S. Model 1850 Army foot officers' sword), and a brief period when swords were suspended during World War II. Since that time, Mameluke swords have been worn by Marine officers in a continuing tradition to the present day.[5]

Historical Discussion / Re: The Battle of Belgrade
« on: June 27, 2011, 08:39:33 am »
Yes, a lot of the USMC customs, such as the Mehteran (Military Band), Mameluke Sword (Swords used by the Slave Warriors of the Sultan), Tughra (Seal of the Sultan which is similar to the navy seal), Red Flag (Red Ottoman Flag), and more.  The Janissaries were not overhyped, they were Multi-Cultural Soldiers trained with the best weapons, armor, and technology of their era.  They were the supreme Superpower of their time period, similar to America now.  Once the Ottomans declined, the European powers learning technology from them came up and became the new superpowers...SIMILAR TO CHINA, INDIA, IRAN, AND RUSSIA now...Everything that has advanced these 4 current countries is based on learning from America.  The same way the Europeans learned from the Ottomans.

The Ottomans left their culture in Belgrade, it's even in the food people eat.  Regarding the current time, Turkey itself was Greek Ionia, where are the Greeks now?  The Persians also owned it as well, where are they now? :) Empires rise and fall...don't be surprised.  However during their time period they were the best of the best.  Their Janissaries were the USMC of their time.

@Siiem, the reason why the Safavid's developed was directly related to their kinship with the Ottomans.  The two families being cousins of each other were both struggling for power in the region, so that happens is that the first Shah of the Safavids who was a Sunni Sufi of the Safavi Order decided to change his sect to Shia to make a division between himself and his Ottoman cousins, otherwise there would not be a valid reason to have another Empire that was not attached to the Ottomans (Osmanli).  The Safavids used the Iranian racial diffference and promoted Shia Islam in order to create a unique Persian Shia element that would be different than the Turkish Sunni and Indian Sunni groups.  Hence, this is why you had the Ottoamn, Safavid and Mughal Dynasties all speaking Persian in their courts and using their particular sects.  Technically the Ottoman, Safavid and Mughal should have been one Empire, however the Turkish, Persian, and Indian civilizations wanted to have a unique territory of their own.  The Pre-Islamic racial tendencies had moved back in a little.  Now, eventually the Ottomans, Safavids and Mughals made peace with each other and had to deal with a new threat, that of the Saudi Wahabis who were promoted by the British in order to create more division in the Islamic lands they wanted to conquer ranging from Africa to Asia.  The mistake they made is that by promoting the intolerant Wahabis, they created Osama Bin Laden, Al-Qaeda, Taliban, and what we know today as Terrorism.  The first time these Wahabi Terrorists were used was against the Ottomans by the British.  Lawrence of Arabia was all about this incident.  However, there wre previous incidents as well before the modern era where the Wahabi tribes had been attacking traditional Sunni and Shia powers of Ottoman Turkey, Safavid Iran, and Mughal India.  The worst case was in Egypt, where the Mameluke Pasha had to fight off the Wahabis.

The difference between Islam and other religious systems is that it does not make a difference between Science and Religion, it is considered one and the same.  Meaning that Science proves religion, not that religion proves Science as in Christianity.  For example, we don't believe the earth is 6000 years old.  In fact, we believe there was a bing bang and the earth is Millions of years old.  The key here is that Islam does not limit Science and it focuses on Social Justice for humanity based on living in harmony with God (Islam).  The word Islam means living in harmony and peace of God.  We believe that everything ever created in the universe is a Muslim (submitting to the harmony/peace of God).  It is the exterior things such as culture that changes that original "fitra" or state of being.  So, as a Muslim, I see every Non-Muslim as a Muslim who does not know they are a Muslim.  It is like this movie I saw about the Angel Gabriel recently where they come through this black hole and on to earth as mortals that can bleed, but their origins are angels.  We see other humans as spiritual Muslims who some have come to remember their original fitra and others do not.  Our jobs as Muslims is to help re-awaken that knowledge of the fitra or original being.  Those Muslims who go to extremes have gone in the path of the Devil or Shaytan.  They want to force other people to their origins...they are like the Sith vs. the Jedi.  Using the darkside of the power that God has created, which serves the Devil.

Regarding Science, we do not see a difference between Science and Religion, because Science always trumps superstitious beliefs.  I think the Westerners hostility to Islam has it's roots in their own understanding of Christianity.  However, this is where education and guidance comes in and we should be able to teach others about this truth or "Haqq".

This is something I ran across recently from one of my favorite Islamic Authors/Scholars by the name of Harun Yahya, talking about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) foretelling the use of Laptops: http://en.harunyahya.tv/videoDetail/Lang/4/Product/43006

I am ethnically Persian with some Azeri mixed in and my faith is Islam.  When it comes to Islam and Science...the faith is the unifying factor of Scientific progress.  The knowledge of Persia and Byzantium was great in it's own right, however neither shared their 'secrets' with the other.  Zoroastrian Persia vs. Christian Byzantium fought for ages for over 500 years.  It was a stalemate...until Islam came and unified them into one nation instead of two tribes.  Their science, math, technology, etc. became one...Islamic...no longer was it Persian, Roman, Arab, etc.  It was one nation, one faith, one science, etc.  No longer existed divisions...until again Pre-Islamic racism began and created damage.  The same thing is happening in the USA.  The USA is based on Islamic ideals of multi-culturalism, however the right wing nuts are destroying that unity and creating havoc.  The failure of the Islamic world is the same failure the USA may face if the right wing nuts are allowed to destroy our precious multi-culturalism and unified faith in God.

The Persians and Byzantines existed side by side for ages...but there was no progress until Islam came (not Arabs but Islam, they are two different things).  Islam means submission to the peace, harmony, and progress of the "One God" of the Torah, Bible and Quran.  It is a continuation of the Abrahamic faiths and the Quran is called "The Final Testament".  What Prophet Adam started...Prophet Muhammad finished.  It is said when the Mahdi comes, he will be aided by Jesus to fight the evil of the Anti-Christ (Dajjal).  The Dajjal could be from anyplace, any race, and may not even be a person, could be an ideology of pure materialism and other concepts based on Satanic worldviews.

If it was not for Islam, there would be no advanced civilization in Europe or the USA.  When the Islamic world was the America of it's time, Europe lived in the Amazon Jungle.  One day when the Western world collapses just like the Islamic world, the group that takes over (probably Chinese) will look at us in the West as inferior and backwards because we no longer will have the light of progress that was given to us by God.

I have been having problems trying to get into the NA and EU servers as of today.  I don't know if it's a connection problem or if it's some sort of ban?  I live in NA and have a DSL system.

It is said about the Persian Damascus Steel: "A true Damascus sword is able to cut through another Sword, armor and a head at the same time, with one simple swing, and it cut them like butter... there's nothing a damascus sword can't cut through"

... but it never say what happen when two damascus sword crash together. :)

Alas, you have found my weakness...I don't know how to make the models.  However, if you do know how to make them, please volunteer! :) I can help with logistical issues if anybody has questions in regards to designs, culture, history, material etc.

I am mostly Persian, however I am mixed with Azeri Turk from my mother's side.  From North Africa to Asia the influence of Islamic Culture which is heavily influenced by Ancient Persian culture helped blossom many advanced civilizations for their time.  The Ottomans of Turkey and the Mughals of India spoke Persian at their Imperial courts due to it's importance.  The west owes the Islamic world more than they can ever imagine.  Just imagine a day when we colonize planets, our offspring may one day treat Earth the way we treat the Middle East.  Taking your roots for granted is unfortunate...recently there was a study that shows Ancient farmers from the Persian Empire migrated to England over 10,000 years ago and married Huntress women who liked the fact that the Middle Eastern farmers could produce more food to feed more babies.  80% of Europeans have the same genes as that of Middle Eastern people from the areas of Syria and Iraq specifically. The racial theories ironically are being proven incorrect with science.

Regarding the Safavids, Ottomans and Mughals...the royal families were all literal cousins.  :)
