Shield dropping in the method that glitches the attack swing to make it appear fast is considered an exploit and is not allowed. Shield dropping, and THEN commencing a full swing is allowed. All nudges are allowed. Watch the nudge guide and practice your counternudges/nudgestuns if you're scared of the BIGDOG
Besides I doubt anyone who has signed so far is gonna be a master nudger by the time of the tourney. And shield glitching will result in disqualification. Neither should be a worry.

This seemingly makes it harder for the person in the upper bracket to win compared to normal double elimination rules. With regular (FGC) rules, the person on "winners side" of grand finals needs to beat the person coming from "losers side" only once, while the player already in losers needs to beat the other player once to put them into losers and "reset the bracket" and then again to eliminate them from the tournament (since it's double elimination).
With your method the winner would also have to win twice if they haven't already dueled, which puts them on even footing with the player coming from losers. Not to mention the player coming from losers would technically be "triple eliminated."

Agree with knightmare that changing the rules is pretty not-okay, and I still don't see what you're doing here other than giving the lower bracket player an advantage since they can now lose twice and still be in the tournament. Every double elimination bracket uses the same ruleset that I just proposed, as having the winners bracket and losers bracket play a single match is unfair to the player coming from winners. Even past crpg tournaments used the bracket reset format, and even though it was my team that was blindsided by it (since it wasn't explicitly in the rules beforehand and we got fucked over due to the other team respeccing between sets) it was the proper way to run the bracket, so no hard feelings. For anyone that follows competitive games (primarily in the FGC), they know how a double elimination bracket works.
No one is getting fucked by this change as far as I can tell.
The person going into grand finals from winners side has to win an extra match now, and the person coming from losers gets a freebie if they lose. In other words, there is no benefit to having no dropped sets so long as you make it to grands.
I don't exactly foresee myself being affected by this rule change, but at least for next time you should maintain a consistent ruleset and not go changing it mid-tourney.

The new rule set is more fair but I think we can all agree that three ft7s is sort of aids especially if both people are gonna be tryharding. It becomes more of a stamina thing then actually skill based.

a) -Winner of lower bracket gets third place, finals match is between top 2 upper bracket winners
b) -A Best of 3 of FT7's for the final with the winner of the upper bracket starting with a technical win regardless of whether they have fought their opponent prior to or not (this was decided based off of Tristan's suggestion, but also the notes from Nikkle and Kadeth saying that 3 FT7's would be more stamina than skill. In other words, the Winner of the upper bracket would only have to beat their opponent in ONE FT7, but the lower bracket competitor would have to beat the upper bracket competitor twice).

In this tournament you can have a tournament champion that wins 6 duels if he was seeded into the second round and stays winners side. On the other extreme, if a player were to be seeded into the first round and lose, drop to losers bracket, and fight their way back to the grand finals they will have had to win 11 duels, nearly twice as many fights.

crpg aint a dueling game. its primarily team deathmatch. so tournaments should reflect that. group fights are so much more interesting than even the very peak performance players dueling 1v1. the possibilities expand so radically with multiple players.

Your opponent is offensive, yet blocks everything: kick & nudge constantly
Your opponent is abusing nudges: counter nudge or spam on predicted nudge (you have a small window to freehit)
Your opponent is hit&block: chamber on early animation
Your opponent is using a fast light weapon: stun him with held attacks (like overhead)
Your opponent is using long slow weapon: outspam on close range

spamming also isnt rly about the speed of the weapon, its about where you put that weapon relative to the persons hitbox and timing. thats why the hilt spam is so good as if your able to place it inside the enemies hitbox right when u swing it will hit instantly. This "theory" works for every weapon which is why I can spam with most weapons. (tho this is alot harder to do then crpg ppl think it is)
Anyone thats good at feinting will know how to block while theyre feinting. And if they cant do that then chances are their feints are trash anyway

first round of the schoi + miley round 2 duel ran out of time because nobody would extend the timer on na_8. the duel went over 3 minutes and the server just ran out of time on them, this tourney was not managed very well, just fucking stick to the jayrod tourney format from now on. you could count the spectators on one hand, of course. nobody is going to watch the videos (assuming they ever even get uploaded) of duels throughout this tournament, this format is totally fucking gay and pointless, just like I predicted.
